@iseethar500 There's no way I could maintain the standard of quality I usually aim for if I remade the whole game. Literally everything that moves has a custom microchip on it. The player characters probably have about 15.

Recreating the game start to finish is something that will never happen. Sorry. I wanted to create an homage to one of my favorite games in hopes it would get some people to play the original. If you want to play Cave Story, the answer isn't to play LBP2!

Seriously? This is a much MUCH better 3D adaptation than Cave Story 3D managed.

You even bothered to make the Kazuma cut-scenes more cinematic, do stuff with the 3D not possible in 2D.

@Bmud The look of the 3DS version is what put me off from buying it. It has lots of low fore/background contrast, muddy colors, and bilinear-filtered low-res (blurry) sprites. Plus when you compare the polygonal detail to something like Mario 3D land, it doesn't look like they tried very much to use the 3DS hardware to its full potential.

@xpo20LOL No thanks, SevenIsACannibal on PSN's already recreated all of the music from Cave Story, so I'm planning to use those. Most of the hard work is microchip programming at the moment, and I'd rather do that myself. I don't really intend to recreate the whole game anyway, that would be a massive pain in the ass. I've got one more level I've working on from time to time, and I don't know if it's worth the effort to continue after that. PSN's already partially back online, by the way.

@phort99 The only thing a little off is the thin hologram bats. Maybe try making the camera flat since you're really only using one layer so you can see them better in relation to Quote.
