@Zeruiahashe With the deepest respect...... the SDA teachings about the covenants, and the books of Hebrews 8:1 - 9:10 are completely overlooked. The decalogue (Or 10) are contained in the first covenant. Also, Galations 3 makes it clear that the Law of Moses is not the test of the "True Chruch".... Galatians 4 is even more brutal.... If you cannot begin to understand the difference between the old covenanat, and the new one, you won't REST in JESUS the TRUE Sabbath.

Never feeling good enough. As an sda child it is impossible to understand you will never be able to live up to the perfection deemed worthy of God's grace and love. I'm still working on trying to be happy in my own skin because of what the sda has indoctrinated into my young mind so many years ago. i hear what you are saying in terms of the pressures to do whats right especially not members. but being apart of the sda chuch i know that we should aim for perfection but we can't achieve this as we are all sinners, thats why jesus came down to earth to show an example to us. if jesus sinned then what would be the chance for us!!

As a former Catholic myself and a current SDA member, I would say hello my brother in Christ. However, based on your reasons for leaving the SDA are not valid at all. Your upbringings seems very strict because the way I was brought up in my parents didn't emphasized Ellen White although I do accept her as a prophet. Im so sad for what you have decided my friend . Advetist is one of the Most wonderful religion in the whole world. The seventday Adventists religion are strongly opposed on not obeying the ten Commmandments, which im sure This is God wants for us to obey his commandments. And SDA is trying to obey that perfectly. Mormon claim that Joseph smith is the last prophet, Islamist claim that Muhammad is the last prophet, and SDAs claim Ellen as the last prrophet. I see common point between them. So, I would definitely run away those groups because the Bible warn us that in the end of time there will be a rise of prophets (actually false ones). RUN AWAY!!!!!

Faith and grace are given in a saints life so that they can grow in Christ and through him become more like him as he kept all his fathers laws. What the text is saying is that those who lives are characterized by sin; meaning living a lifestyle of sin...those will not enter KofH. We who are in Christ will sin but not live according to the sinful desires of the flesh. We are saved by grace through faith not by works or keeping the law.
Romans 14: 5-6 is a biblical passage to reference. We are saved by grace through faith not by works or keeping the law. If you fail at keeping any part of the law then you are guilty of breaking all of it (James 2:10).

I have NEVER been taught that you SHOULD become vegetarian. Ellen G. White never said we SHOULD become vegetarian, she simply taught vegetarianism because it was a healthy way of living. I eat and have always ate meat... God said himself in Leviticus 11 what we could and could not eat. The Bible speaks about a "falling away" from the faith before Jesus returns... are you sure you've done the right thing? The Bible says no one is perfect, not even the angels in heaven are.

However, if you commit sin on a daily basis... shouldn't you ask for forgiveness everyday?? I'm Catholic, from Hawaii. I have always kept an open heart to other churches with the strong belief that we, sons and daughter of Christ, are bonded by one God & faith. I accepted an invitation to an SDA crusade, where to much of my disappointment was judged as a follower of the Antichrist because I was Catholic. There was no presence of God & Holy Spirit in that church as they preached false messages. The true gospel of LOVE & the kingdom of Heaven was replaced by heresy & false prophets.

when you dig a little deeper and find that they must keep the sabbath to be sealed, one starts to realize they teach a grace by works salvation. There is much people won't hear until they be comfortable with certain teachings; such as the 1844 doctrine of investigative judgment.
I am currently pentacostal/ SDA. I must say people don't even want to quote EGW at the SDA church. I went to one seminar and they preached that you can't be saved by works but through Jesus Christ, but you must follow his teaching. Otherwise how would you be a follower of Christ. I actually prefer SDA.

@KingdoMentality Hi, I was third-Gen SDA as well. We left the church back in 1980 when Dr.Ford exposed the false doctrine of the 1844 IJ. I believe if the church finally dealt with the problem of 1844 IJ and the misuse of EGW, we would return to the church, but until then it is a borderline cult, and not Christian.

i recognize that almost all of the SDA's doctrines are false but wats so wrong about following the sabbath? the REAL sabbath because the whole reason why sunday is now recognized is because the Roman empire changed the times actually. one whole day was once recognized form sunrise to sunset but after Constantine i think changed it, its now from 12 to 12. he also changed the sabbath for catholicism to coincide w/ pagan sun worship..so wats so bad about worshipping on the sabbath?

The law doesnt not save anybody it is through Jesus Christ that we are saved but we must also have obeience to God word and teachings..... 2. I am saved because I accepted the free gift of salvation. Me going to church on Saturdays is obeying the commandments.
3. Perform the works of confessing your sins daily??? We aren't catholic. The Bible tells me that if I confess my sis HE (Jesus) is faithful to forgive me of my sins and cleanse me from unrighteousness. I have no clue what #3 even means, since we aren't catholic.

i am not in the church but i know one thing it seem that u were not into your bible the way u should.
but than again it is easy to fall for the way of the world than what it is to keep the LORDS LAW. Remember it was man law that made it extremely hard to keep the sabbath day not the Lord's Law .
I believed for over 10 years as a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church that Satan was my scapegoat and that Jesus would put my confessed sins on Satan’s head and he would be punished and die for them because Ellen G. White said so. I made the mistake of trusting her as my authority. The result of using her as an authority "the lesser light" to the Bible, gave me a false understanding of the work of my Savior in saving me. I have since left the SDA and now Jesus is my complete Saviour.
2. If you stopped attending Church on Saturdays, and attended Church on Sundays instead, can you still be saved by faith in Jesus and grace alone, and still avoid the coming Mark of the Beast? Yes or No?
3. Can you still be saved by grace alone if you do not attend Sabbath Church every week and do not perform the works of confessing your sins daily? Yes or No?

I enjoyed growing up SDA and it took me a few years to adjust to deciding to leave the church, and Christianity as a whole. I am a 4th generation SDA from my mom's side and 3rd on my dad's side but choosing to leave wasn't a reactionary response for me it was that after studying I came to the conclusion that it just wasn't for me. Growing up SDA provided me a stability that I couldn't have had elsewhere and it works for most of my family still so I still respect and appreciate it.

The Jesus I serve (who is also refered to as Michael in apocalyptic prophecy) , is the creator of everything, the God of the bible, whose Law is unchangeable and who will destroy those who fight against that Law.
What a loss that I hope will not be permanent. I Listening to your video made it clear that you grew up in an environment in which the letter of the law was taught and not the love for the creator. Therefore the need to be perfect superseded the grace that Christ has given to us. It is through his grace we are saved and keeping the law is an outgrowth of that love. True Adventism does not preach perfection through personal works but through Christ. and though we fall does not mean loss.
1 John 5 talks about that God wants us to be sure of our salvation. He wants us to know that we have eternal life. Unfortunately being raised in an Adventist home, going to Adventist schools as I was, doesn't not protect us from the seeds of doubt that the devil plants. I agree keep searching. I believe that spritual abuse has lead many Adventist away from the truth as some of our leaders preached perfection and painted Ellen White as Catholics do Mary instead of preaching Christ and his infinite love for us. When we learn to truly know and love Christ through a study of his word then whatever is written in his word we will follow through Him not of ourselves. My prayer is that your heart is still open to have The Holy Spirit lead you.
But b/c we are no longer under the law do we make void the law? Certainly not Paul says in Romans. It is out of gratification for what he has done for me and love for Him that I do my best to obey His law but it is not what saves me. What saves me is knowing Christ personally. The relationship with Him. Not everyone who says Lord, Lord will enter into the kingdom of heaven. This goes for all Christians.
I have found that the views on interpreting scripture on this website had many flaws in it. Being a SDA I don't believe that the good has to out way the bad in order to go to Heaven. This is a common misconception among many Christians, even in most SDA homes. Jesus is my substitute He was perfect for me, I agree with you.

However in my studies I used specific principles for interpreting the bible, compare scripture with scripture. People can tell many things about others religions as I also have gone to different churches and always come back. at the end it is the call of God and his truth. I too was both sides 3rd generation raised SDA. Father was an SDA minister, grandfather was an SDA surgeon missionary. I attended Loma Linda and Spring Valley academy. I am now a confessional Lutheran for the past 13 years. Good video

@Zeruiahashe With the deepest respect...... the SDA teachings about the covenants, and the books of Hebrews 8:1 - 9:10 are completely overlooked. The decalogue (Or 10) are contained in the first covenant. Also, Galations 3 makes it clear that the Law of Moses is not the test of the "True Chruch".... Galatians 4 is even more brutal.... If you cannot begin to understand the difference between the old covenanat, and the new one, you won't REST in JESUS the TRUE Sabbath.

Never feeling good enough. As an sda child it is impossible to understand you will never be able to live up to the perfection deemed worthy of God's grace and love. I'm still working on trying to be happy in my own skin because of what the sda has indoctrinated into my young mind so many years ago. As a former Catholic myself and a current SDA member, I would say hello my brother in Christ. However, based on your reasons for leaving the SDA are not valid at all. Your upbringings seems very strict because the way I was brought up in my parents didn't emphasized Ellen White although I do accept her as a prophet. @jvfllr197 No he made the right choice. SADs put Ellen as the Prophet of end time and compare her writing to be on the same level as the Bible. Mormon claim that Joseph smith is the last prophet, Islamist claim that Muhammad is the last prophet, and SDAs claim Ellen as the last prrophet. I see common point between them. So, I would definitely run away those groups because the Bible warn us that in the end of time there will be a rise of prophets (actually false ones). RUN AWAY!!!!!

Faith and grace are given in a saints life so that they can grow in Christ and through him become more like him as he kept all his fathers laws. 3. Be faithful to God's law and therefore not sin. In honesty what is a Sunday Keeping Christian? I have never heard of them. All my "sunday keeping friends" are more like Sabbath ignoring christians, because no one actually "keeps" sunday, they just go on sunday out of tradition because they dont want to look weird to their friends.

Adventists are not the only ones going to heaven. Yet, if you are aware of new light and don't live up to it, then you are held responsible and will lose out. Don't take my word for this. Seventh Day Adventists are not a cult. 1. People are saved by faith and grace through Jesus Christ, NO ONE IS SAVED BY WORKS. Yet, when one is doing the will of God your fruits (actions) will exemplify your beliefs.2. God requires us to love Him. By loving God you WILL be inclined to keep His commandments, they are a reflection of God's character. 3. There is no "Sunday Laws" Mark of the Beast. There is however a Mark of the Beast. Check the story of the ladies with oil.

@PreparemetomeetthyGod 1 Cor 6: 9-10 does in no way suggest salvation by keeping the law. What the text is saying is that those who lives are characterized by sin; meaning living a lifestyle of sin...those will not enter KofH. We who are in Christ will sin but not live according to the sinful desires of the flesh. We are saved by grace through faith not by works or keeping the law.

Romans 14: 5-6 is a biblical passage to reference. We are saved by grace through faith not by works or keeping the law. If you fail at keeping any part of the law then you are guilty of breaking all of it (James 2:10).

This is a case of someone who tried to gain heaven by works. Brother I agree with you, it cannot be done. A person who is changed in the likeness of Christ will show fruits.Now if youre talking about EGW plagarisms name me of one person who didnt plagarise? 40% of what Jesus quoted was from the Old Testament. I have NEVER been taught that you SHOULD become vegetarian. Ellen G. White never said we SHOULD become vegetarian, she simply taught vegetarianism because it was a healthy way of living. I eat and have always ate meat... God said himself in Leviticus 11 what we could and could not eat. The Bible speaks about a "falling away" from the faith before Jesus returns... are you sure you've done the right thing? The Bible says no one is perfect, not even the angels in heaven are.

Ellen G. White is NOT our Savior - the Lord is and only he can save us... not any man or woman. Yes, we follow the teachings of Ellen G. White however, she is not our GOD. However, if you commit sin on a daily basis... shouldn't you ask for forgiveness everyday?? Before passing judgment on our religion and believing everything you hear - you should try studying up on it - you may learn a thing or two that can save your soul. Jesus is our Savior and we know that we can not enter into Heaven unless we believe in him.

I'm Catholic, from Hawaii. I have always kept an open heart to other churches with the strong belief that we, sons and daughter of Christ, are bonded by one God & faith. I accepted an invitation to an SDA crusade, where to much of my disappointment was judged as a follower of the Antichrist because I was Catholic. There was no presence of God & Holy Spirit in that church as they preached false messages. The true gospel of LOVE & the kingdom of Heaven was replaced by heresy & false prophets.

when you dig a little deeper and find that they must keep the sabbath to be sealed, one starts to realize they teach a grace by works salvation. There is much people won't hear until they be comfortable with certain teachings; such as the 1844 doctrine of investigative judgment.

I am currently pentacostal/ SDA. I must say people don't even want to quote EGW at the SDA church. I went to one seminar and they preached that you can't be saved by works but through Jesus Christ, but you must follow his teaching. Otherwise how would you be a follower of Christ. I actually prefer SDA.

@KingdoMentality Hi, I was third-Gen SDA as well. We left the church back in 1980 when Dr.Ford exposed the false doctrine of the 1844 IJ. I believe if the church finally dealt with the problem of 1844 IJ and the misuse of EGW, we would return to the church, but until then it is a borderline cult, and not Christian.

i recognize that almost all of the SDA's doctrines are false but wats so wrong about following the sabbath? the REAL sabbath because the whole reason why sunday is now recognized is because the Roman empire changed the times actually. one whole day was once recognized form sunrise to sunset but after Constantine i think changed it, its now from 12 to 12. he also changed the sabbath for catholicism to coincide w/ pagan sun worship..so wats so bad about worshipping on the sabbath?

2. I am saved because I accepted the free gift of salvation. Me going to church on Saturdays is obeying the commandments.
3. Perform the works of confessing your sins daily??? We aren't catholic. The Bible tells me that if I confess my sis HE (Jesus) is faithful to forgive me of my sins and cleanse me from unrighteousness. I have no clue what #3 even means, since we aren't catholic.

I believed for over 10 years as a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church that Satan was my scapegoat and that Jesus would put my confessed sins on Satan’s head and he would be punished and die for them because Ellen G. White said so. I made the mistake of trusting her as my authority. The result of using her as an authority "the lesser light" to the Bible, gave me a false understanding of the work of my Savior in saving me. I have since left the SDA and now Jesus is my complete Saviour.

It is partly what we're judged for, Love your neighbour as you love yourself, Jesus himself said it was one of the greatest commandments, the remnant church are those who follow God's commandments, including the moral law, sure we're saved by his grace, but without showing out faith through works whats the point.

My brother, I am left wondering why at this time especially the Seventh Day Adventist

I enjoyed growing up SDA and it took me a few years to adjust to deciding to leave the church, and Christianity as a whole. I am a 4th generation SDA from my mom's side and 3rd on my dad's side but choosing to leave wasn't a reactionary response for me it was that after studying I came to the conclusion that it just wasn't for me. Growing up SDA provided me a stability that I couldn't have had elsewhere and it works for most of my family still so I still respect and appreciate it.

1. You've not responded to my point about Gal 5:4 you've tried to dismiss it by saying I haven't recieved Lord Jesus an assertion for which you have no evidence.
2. You have it backwards - understanding the Word (at least in part) is first, then conviction then repentance then justification & recieving Christ then comes continued growth in OBEDIENCE to the Holy scriptures.
Keep believing in easy religion & your own Jesus I believe in

Read the verse Kingdo - whosoever of you are JUSTIFIED by the law. You cant be justified by obedience. But it certainly is the result of SANCTIFICATION.
As for Gal 5:22 & 23, those verses work against your argument - because Paul is using the law of God as the criterion - he says "against such there is no law".
As for Michael, where in the bible does it teach that Michael is a created being like the other angels - that is pure catholic tradition.

What a loss that I hope will not be permanent. I Listening to your video made it clear that you grew up in an environment in which the letter of the law was taught and not the love for the creator. Therefore the need to be perfect superseded the grace that Christ has given to us. It is through his grace we are saved and keeping the law is an outgrowth of that love. True Adventism does not preach perfection through personal works but through Christ. and though we fall does not mean loss.

1 John 5 talks about that God wants us to be sure of our salvation. He wants us to know that we have eternal life. Unfortunately being raised in an Adventist home, going to Adventist schools as I was, doesn't not protect us from the seeds of doubt that the devil plants. Continue your search in comparing scripture with scripture and don't let what I say or anyone else waiver your faith. God bless and be with you as you let the Holy Spirit guide you into all truth.

I agree keep searching. I believe that spritual abuse has lead many Adventist away from the truth as some of our leaders preached perfection and painted Ellen White as Catholics do Mary instead of preaching Christ and his infinite love for us. When we learn to truly know and love Christ through a study of his word then whatever is written in his word we will follow through Him not of ourselves. My prayer is that your heart is still open to have The Holy Spirit lead you.

But b/c we are no longer under the law do we make void the law? Certainly not Paul says in Romans. It is out of gratification for what he has done for me and love for Him that I do my best to obey His law but it is not what saves me. What saves me is knowing Christ personally. The relationship with Him. Not everyone who says Lord, Lord will enter into the kingdom of heaven. This goes for all Christians.

I have found that the views on interpreting scripture on this website had many flaws in it. Being a SDA I don't believe that the good has to out way the bad in order to go to Heaven. This is a common misconception among many Christians, even in most SDA homes. Jesus is my substitute He was perfect for me, I agree with you.

I just watched this video and just wanted to say that. I am a Seventh day Adventist 2 gen. on both sides. And I have studied for myself in search of truth as you did. However in my studies I used specific principles for interpreting the bible, compare scripture with scripture. I have also researched the beliefs of the website on ex adventist that you mentioned and with out going to EGW, I went to God and the bible.

I am sorry you were in the wrong environment. People can tell many things about others religions as I also have gone to different churches and always come back. at the end it is the call of God and his truth. You tell your story and that reminded me the times when Jesus was here and the religious people used to acused him for not being perfect in their eyes. Learn how to obey God and find peace doing it. Freedom can be misinterpreted.

I respect the fact that you believe you are trying to win souls for the kingdom but your methods are off center. You believe you are weaving people into the light by pointing out the wrongs but thats not Christ. The Holy Spirit points those who have faith in Christ to the truth. So how about you teach people how to build a relationship with Christ instead of trying to bash religions. Religions wont save ppl, its relationship with Christ that will. Your waisting your time. Refocus ur attention.

I too was both sides 3rd generation raised SDA. Father was an SDA minister, grandfather was an SDA surgeon missionary. I attended Loma Linda and Spring Valley academy. I am now a confessional Lutheran for the past 13 years. Good video

@KingdoMentality Last time I checked the majority of all denominations atm are "NOT CHRISTIAN" e.i the Catholics hold on to there tradition. All the protestants except a few still follow Sunday. Why don't we actually take a look at how Sunday is implemented. Then ask your self why would i worship on this day knowing the truth behind it. Kingdo i know your a non denominational person so that probably doesn't apply to you.

@KingdoMentality 1st of the SDA church atm is the only church who follows the 10 commandments. 2nd This guy doesn't know what he is saying. A. You don't have to give up meat. B. EGW is not even suppose to be quoted, she says do not quote her. The problem atm with the SDA church is they are slipping up. We know from the Bible that satan will try to infiltrate and decieve from with in the church. That is what has happened in the SDA church.

To make it clear, the bible states that there are people of God in all the churches, but God is calling them out of them, for they form part of babylon the great, [Revalation 18:1-4] the churches of Christendom are teaching false doctrines, they have turned thier back on Christ..... Therefore the invitation is "come out of her, my people"........[Revelation 18:4]

God has always had a people, Israel was his people, in the Hebrew scriptures. The Seventh day Adventists constitute God's because they have the oracles [teachings] of His word. In this sense they are the people of God.
