  • She's good and with a little more practice she can become a professional...

  • this nocturne always makes me a little teary eyed! especially when played well! this is mainly because i read that this nocturne was one of the last pieces Liszt played for his students during studio/master class. It makes me wonder what divinity Liszt had heard in the notes.... then again he could sight read just about anything... so maybe it wasn't so important to him... but yet...!!

  • She did a wholeee lot better than I would have done lol

  • Dammit I wish I started playing an instrument early.

  • @TrollMcgee83 if the little girl sucks then u hav real sucky ears because by what ive heard shes a big hit. sucker..!

  • @TrollMcgee83 Sorry, what? I couldn't hear you over the sound of the truth.

  • @jdebruynviolin Don't respond to him. The reason for his sexist comments is in his username.

  • Yes, indeed! Please keep working. It's all work... That performance was very, very good and as you grow with the piece and other works you will see what can be possible. I think you should make this your life's work. Become a performer. You have it in you.

  • CHILDREN AT THIS AGE SHOULD BE PLAYING TECHNIC NOT THIS, IT IS TO BADLY PLAYED TOOOO BAD NO TECHNIC AT ALL!!!!!

  • @mannhummel stfu and support a child no matter the skill level. Nurture not judge.

  • Wow! Keep it up! You've got some serious talent! Thanks for sharing! :)

  • I wish I could play like this. It inspires me to take lessons! :D

  • pretty good actually if you turn off the sound

  • @finnpower92 You wish you could play like that....

  • I don't pretend to be an expert but after 10 years of taking piano lessons, I didn't play as well as this little girl does. Definitely Carnegie Hall in her future. Bravo!

  • @Tomam001

Sorry, what playing Piano has to do with the Carnegie Hall? :)

  • @akula2shark - Well, Carnegie Hall is a famous place where talented and famous musicians are known to perform. I guess you're not from New York. This little girl who played Chopin demonstrated that she has the potential to one day play at Carnegie Hall. Does that answer your question?

  • @Tomam001

I didn't phrase my question properly. I meant by playing a tune on a Piano might be too early to pass on a verdict. Hope I'm not misconstrued as pessimistic! Trust me, I've seen a couple of children like that playing super-genius Mozart tunes. Example, check this tube vid:

watch?v=Xn3VJH00UBg (One of my fav. series/stories, thanks to Jane Austen)

Well, I do know the Carnegie Hall in NY quit well as I'm a CMU Alumni (94-96); Masters in AI.

  • As if she is only 10 years old, brilliant playing!

  • its a shame that instead of congradulating this wonderful girl Im forced to make that comment. MY APOLOGIES, wonderful playing

  • doesnt everyone understand that these MORONS who make these ignorant comments only do so b/c they receive attention from it. LEAVE THEM ALONE and the ignorant comments will fade away.

  • I love reading comments on the internet. Goes to show how analytical and shitty the world is. Why can't we all get along and have something nice to say to everyone for a change? This young lady did a fantastic job. The music is wonderful as well.

  • @daveygolucky So true!!

  • don't quit your day job...school.

  • shes good for her age. what im wondering is will she be better when she is older? because this isnt good enough for a person in their twenties

  • very impressive you are fantastic.

  • LOL! My sister is 3 and she can play better than that... ammature...

  • @ihatepeoplethisway LOLOLOL okay okay whatever you say :P 3 year old thats funny

  • @ihatepeoplethisway What an asshole you are.

I'm sorry but dont get on here and make shitty comments amount people.

I hate people like you. You are probably a Justin bieber fan. In other words,

you know nothing about music or musical talent.

  • @ihatepeoplethisway Well, if you could spell properly, I might take your hearing abilities a bit more seriously.

  • @ihatepeoplethisway I started at 15 months old

  • @ihatepeoplethisway

    haha she wish she can

record her and show it to us!

    Cheers!

  • @nargarothfreak666 sweety she doesn't play in recitals! and shes nervous kiss my ass

  • Amazing to see. How very inspiring to hear.

  • beautiful, up to 4 minutes of song to memorize. impressive!

  • now i wonder... a friend of mine didnt get throught the conservatory because his teacher failed him 3 times (3 years lost) because his hand was apparently too small, once he couldnt reach a full octave... (WTF?... he was 17 back then ... makes no sense)

  • Comment removed

  • i wanna learn hows shes created.. amazing..

  • @sanjayaisland well when a woman and a man love each other, they like to express their love in....

  • @Ikseedorf: I understand your criticism, I did have some teachers who adviced me the same when playing this nocturne. But I do not agree. It’s a matter of personal interpretation. It’s still a ‘nocturne’, and I really love it played this way :)

  • @PapaGenoPas Her hands are so beautifully light and fluent across the keys that I want to hear just that.....there is not need to catch the pedal to sustain notes where her artistry does the work...........that was all I was trying to say.

  • blessed you are, yes...

  • whoa! amazing.. is all i can say

  • Well played but very heavy on the pedal. Chopin would have invoked a much lighter pedal. The true emotion of the piece can't be portrayed without a very, very light touch on the pedal.

  • @lkseedorf You do know she is 10 right, Just be positive instead of saying heavy on the pedal, I think tons of people are wishing they could play like her. Very nicely done :)

  • @mythras1978 I did make a positive remark. It was very well played. I was suggesting a lighter pedal. My comment was meant as constructive criticism. How else do we learn and improve? I've always fought the tendency to over pedal and I've been playing for 44 years.......I wish my earlier instructors would have corrected that as opposed to learning it later in life...it is a hard habit to break once you've started relying on it. She absolutely did, however, play the piece beautifully

  • @mythras1978 - Exactly right, she's only 10 years old!!! These people who have negative comments probably have zero talent.

  • @lkseedorf I'm interested in your comment. I love piano music. I have no idea about what you are saying, but I like the fact that you are trying to help. So many people view any criticism as "WRONG". Not so, criticism is a helper.

  • @radconserv86 Sometimes it is about understanding your instrument and how it works. I could write a book on how the piano works and the effects of the pedals but my grandfather already did that. She played that piece so beautifully, she didn't need the little extra pedal. She played a little pedal to make sure she had that legato between notes but she didn't need it. My comments were only meant to help her take beautiful to magnificent. She has the talent.

  • @lkseedorf I'm familiar with most of the literature in that area. What's your grandfather's name?

  • just curious.. how long does she practice a day?

  • @adumsalsa she practice 90 minutes,is in her channel =)

  • so beatifull, sounds like the greatest pianists :D Good work!!!!

  • i closed my eyes while i listened...its breathtaking.

  • just magnificent!!! intense, wonderful playing!!! bravo!!!!

  • whoa... she is talented.

  • oh my goddddd

  • beautifully played.

  • oh! my god!!!!

  • I've listened to your playing of this piece now three times in succession and I find it and your playing of it magnificent. Thank you for that joy and best wishes for a brilliant career.

  • Thank you. Very enjoyable, wonderful playing.

  • Has the dress ever been a problem? Or it's ok? Cause formal wearins is usually really uncomfortable.... :-/

  • GREAT! how i wish i was just like her! :)

  • Really fantastic!

I have found your tag today and visited here twice.

    More from: your channel comments.

  • great work!

  • She's still small except she can play very well amazingly

  • talented young lady! chopin has a style that's hard to imitate, you are great. keep on practicing. bravo!

  • wow... bravo

  • well played

wikipedia says this nocturne has nothing special in it, just rather hackneyed

  • interpretation off but is good for a kid

  • Hallo thats wunderful iam happy be you friend**********

    Friedhelm

  • Great

  • that looks like joc in la mirada

  • Truly spectacular! ^ ^ And at such a young age.

  • Bravo C

  • amazing. i wish i could still play like that. you have inspired me to get my books back out. :)

  • Same here I used to never practice and never take my lessons seriously now I want to again.

  • You are a true star, and you will be a great pianist, I'm sure.

But, don't forget to enjoy the life, little treasure!

  • She already IS a great pianist.

  • @toellina84 Something about your comment is just so creepy :|

  • Your interpretation is brilliant! Speed is brilliant! You are Brilliant!

  • really good.

  • A mi me ha parecido una excelente interpretacion, ella contaba con solo 10 años cuando se grabo este video.

    Felicidades nena.

  • exelent!

  • Superb performance.

May your journey down the path of piano mastery be a joyous one.

  • i remember playing this piece! its beautiful.

  • wooooow! beautiful

  • That sporadic abruptness is important but a bit more smooth.

  • ure cute and very talented!

  • I wish there's more

  • ma quanto è brava sta bimba O.O

  • I have learned this Nocturn and it sounds like i have it played ago many years but in this video you make as an example by 2:15 the end off the passage very abrupt

it is only this wath i not like in this interpretation else it is very beautiful and i think you make this not more so abrupt.

  • Well, I've played this piece, and it seems to me that there isn't much melodic or harmonic reason wrote those *abrupt* rests in there. I don't think there's a way of putting them in their place without seeming abrupt. I think that's how they have to be. That sporadic abruptness helps to generate the tension that allows the music to take it's dark turn at the end.

  • omg!!!!!!i love that kid!!!

  • Very beautifully played Celia. I adore Chopin and I enjoyed your performance very much.

    Bless you!

  • amazing!!

  • she is so cute

  • yes, she's great. i've seen her other videos. a star is born in my view.

  • This piece is enchanting. Her complete stops were quite suspenseful.

  • aw WOW!

  • sugoi!!!! you are amazing!

  • ma vaffanculo merda che cazzo dici

  • (I used a translator to figure out what you said)

Ok, sorry, I'm just so scared of these things!!! I hate them too! seriously! they've caused me so much trouble!

  • Beautiful, marvellous, you are perfect! Go on!!

  • you are a great pianist!

  • Thanks for subscribing to my videos. However judging on your standard i think it should be ME subscribing to yours!!

  • AWESOME!!!!I can't wait to get my daughter started with piano lessons. Keep it up. God gave you a beautiful gift and talent.

  • You are marvellous,my little lady..Precious! Great I'm dreaming on your piano notes...LOVE AND RESPECT - Walter

  • Extraordinario, tienes mucho talento y una gran sensibilidad, te felicito.

  • wow i love it

  • You play like you were born to play!!! =) This is a spotlessly lovely performance.

  • Well! Very Well! You was 10 years old in this video... i try to play this piece but i don't play like you. You have talent go on!

  • She si just a girl, wait, wait, she culd be a great player, she love the good music, an Chopin is love nothing else

  • Beautifully played!

  • Lovely playing. Your rubatto, pauses, etc. are right on for Chopin (very beautiful). Nice flowing tempo, too. Keep up the good work! :)

  • it's a very good rendition of this nocturne and is not at all played too quickly. very few of chopin's nocturnes are actually to be performed slowly. i'd say that, for the most part, they are faster than "lento" and slower than "allegro". my understanding of this particular nocturne conforms with the speed at which it was played here. the performer's composure is remarkable and i heard NOT ONE wrong note hit.

  • Maravillosa, posee mucho talento.

  • Go on! You are a talent! You'll never leave music.

  • Too fast honey

  • dont even try to pick things out of this. that is honestly the most ridiculous thing i have ever seen

  • Sorry about that. You sound wonderful! Keep up the good work!

  • There's a point when this distinction of tempo is really up to taste. I think this interpretation of the piece made sense with the tempo; it didn't sound rushed, at least if you haven't heard it too many times in another tempo before.

  • seriously? blackcloud21509, "luck"

are you kidding me? that take so much skill, talent, and practice to play that well. stop ragging on a little girl who is doing an AMAZING job.

  • Blackcloud21509 is a fucking douche, isnt he? Since when has playing the piano, especially like this girl, been LUCK??!!!! He's just jealous cuz he cant play like that. I play the piano pretty well, but to be honest, this girl is better than me.

  • I thought I was awesome because I learned how to play the first part(s) of FurElise and I started playing piano 2 days ago. But this.... is amazing.. Great playing :]

    5*

  • Come back to enjoy your performance again. Beautifully played!

  • wow shes amazing! i hope one day i will be as good as her.

    bravo!

  • aosmbroso pero para chopin hay que tener mas melancolia jejejejej :p

  • Wow - I may as well give up now! Amazing!

  • Wow !! she's amazing !! ^^

  • wow !! I am impressed by this girl's talent. It's such a gift for all piano listeners. Actually this is one of my favorite piece by Chopin. Anyway, thank you ailecec for sharing this wonderul pieces.

  • Very beautiful. Amazing performance. That's a compliment coming from a critique like me. I love Chopin's Nocturnes and Polonaises. You should post some more nocturnes and polonaises.

  • luck

  • Amazing performance--I enjoyed this very much!

  • Wonderful! That was beutiful! Well done!!! :)

  • gracias niña

  • Amazing! One of the more difficult Nocturnes that I haven't even attempted to play yet, and this girl just blows it away. Nicely done!

  • Very nice. I enjoyed it. Thank you for sharing.

  • johnymarder, what the heck are you talking about? "Snotty nosed trash"? you are obviously not musically mature enough to understand Chopin's music. Sit back and shut up. Also, your other comments are shocking.. ("Just because you would like to take the girl into your private chambers..." -johnymarder) johnymarder, you seriously can't get any worse.. However, this performance is simply fabulous.

  • wow!!! she plays

    better then me!! =D

  • wow!!! she plays

    better then me!! =D

  • I love this gently playing.

    You are gently lady :)

I am going to be as gently as you for playing on the piano.. :))

I love this way of feelings about piano.

  • Thank you for this great video. Excellently played!! 5***** from me.

  • celia, your very beautiful and such that you express it through your cantabile playing.

  • beautiful interpretation from someone so young. i'm working on chopin nocturnes and i think this is one of nocturnes i can't even play! hats off to you.

  • lier she is like 10 years old

  • -_- Dude. Just because a recital is held at a college doesn't mean it's always a college student.

  • this recital is at my college! LOL!!

  • show off. 10 yr old playing chopin 3 yr olds r gonna b playing chopin if they keep it up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! im getting jealous!!!

  • Must have wonderful parents too. It's a helpful thing to have a helpful atmosphere growing up.

  • you got that right. the atmosphere in which i grew up sucked ass. now i'm a furious fork.

  • Fantastic

It's much better than that horrible Turina's song.

  • woohw... so beautiful!!!

  • it's beatiful

  • this video makes me feel bad about myself lol....i've only been playing the piano for half a year though....but still

  • she's great!! and a very pretty girl.. so talented..

  • Absolutely brilliant.

  • Wow. This is so beautiful. It's almost like a lullaby..

  • speachless

You will 100% become a star when you continue

    with piano.

  • not bad

  • Thats really wonderful little girl, but a friendly reminder;

Girls do not bow in front of people, they courtsie (or however that is called) ^^

  • That may be true in some cases, but I've never seen a girl (or anyone) curtsy at a piano performance...everyone bows

  • It's not a big deal anymore. Everyone bows.

  • sounds like pro

  • that's kind of a generalization, considering that i LIKE this kind of music, and i don't pretend to like it.

    "snotty nosed trash"?

yeah, you sound like such an incredibly mature person...

seriously, you don't need to be so rude.

  • What I meant was that this music is good, very good, but it's a load of real rubbish if you think about it. It's only inventd to make people feel good but it is horrible when you listen to it. It's this what makes it as listenable to.

  • Have you ever considered the possibility that people really like this kind of music instead of just pretending to like? I for examble find this very entertaining and beautiful.

  • that dosent even make any sense.
