In 9 countries I've visited to study the level of martial arts between cultures, it's only westerners (Americans, Aussies and Brits) who spend more time f**king about trying to look cool than fight and get their arses kicked. You should have uploaded the whole fight rather than just the few instances where you were throwing a bunch of circular kicks. I don't think I saw the kickboxer throw one punch.

Interesting fight, granted, the guy is an above the top kicker, but when faced with pro fighter (albeit a very mediocre one), he couldn't win the match by ko, not even shake the guy.
Those flashy spin kicks are technically very difficult to perform. The flying kicks are super flashy but very unrealistic and obsolete for sparring and/or sports oriented competitions. These techniques usually don't work (I mean, with security and effectiveness) in kickboxing sparring or muay thai competition. Guys like Serkan Yilmaz, who uses much spin kicks, are very few. The shin pads are also something that makes unrealistic these kicking in real life combats.And the other guy is not good

I'm surprised so many people are amazed by Ehsan. He does some very acrobatic moves but he didn't land anything other than punches. You can do flips in the center of the ring all day, but if it doesn't land effectively what's the point?
@ketchumart I have seen him in other videos.. the fancy kicks obviously scare the opponents. You never know what this man can take out of the hat at any moment (e.g. 2:06) - so the opponent tends to play defense ..and that's a disadvantage
Well the fact that he can stay in the ring shows that he can stand his ground quite well. But, his style is suited as an art than a sport. Many people may not become so skilled to use King fu the way Ehsan uses it.
The thing I love about Ehsan, is that he takes all of these normally impractical but really flashy and awesome kicks, and actually makes them work. You know, the kind of Kung-Fu that a lot of folks like to call "dancing" or "gymnastics". And of course, for the average martial artist, it really is just dancing or gymnastics, but Ehsan Shafiq is not an average martial artist!

I remember when both machida and anderson silva got knock outs using a straight kick to the face, silva did it after a feint with his other leg. that was cool.

UFC is made of MMA, mma is mixed martial arts. they include kung fu, thats where the kicks come from. and ground arts e.g judo or BJJ ( brazilian ju jitzu ) so yeah . dont think ufc guys can kick. ufc is mostly punching and when they do kick they only do round houses.

In 9 countries I've visited to study the level of martial arts between cultures, it's only westerners (Americans, Aussies and Brits) who spend more time f**king about trying to look cool than fight and get their arses kicked. Middle-Eatern, European, Asian (well not so much Asian kids anymore because they're too brainwashed by media these days) all get on with fighting.

Those flashy spin kicks are technically very difficult to perform. The flying kicks are super flashy but very unrealistic and obsolete for sparring and/or sports oriented competitions. These techniques usually don't work (I mean, with security and effectiveness) in kickboxing sparring or muay thai competition. Guys like Serkan Yilmaz, who uses much spin kicks, are very few. The shin pads are also something that makes unrealistic these kicking in real life combats.And the other guy is not good

@Martinez418 I wouldn't say that I agree, the point system for competitions are a sign of the times, like ufc, the time needed to master a martial art and where the arts came from in general is being lost in this "wwe" type hype. Pride were the best modern fights that were available for viewing. Ufc has kind of turned martial arts into a hobby, or a fad, just like tiger schulmans did to kempo... No doubt the young men in those cages are driven athletes but that doesn't make them martial artists

@mrchristopher1213 ufc is a perversion of martial arts, it had humble beginnings back when it started but it took a turn for the worse back in the end of the 90's beginning of 2000. If you think they have the "best fighters in the world" your mistaken sir, using logic in sure you can agree that there are men in the corners of the world unreached by television and perverted things like the ufc that would prove to be more than formidable in "the octagon."

How can you say that the UFC ''PERVERTED'' martial arts?. Point tournaments fighters like they have/do in Karate won't do anything to an MMA fighter in the street or cage. You clearly seen this in the early UFC back in the 90's. Many were martial arts practitioners but when you had wrestlers and ''pankration'' fighters, they've all LOST.

I'm surprised so many people are amazed by Ehsan. He does some very acrobatic moves but he didn't land anything other than punches. You can do flips in the center of the ring all day, but if it doesn't land effectively what's the point?

@ketchumart I have seen him in other videos.. the fancy kicks obviously scare the opponents. You never know what this man can take out of the hat at any moment (e.g. 2:06) - so the opponent tends to play defense ..and that's a disadvantage

Well the fact that he can stay in the ring shows that he can stand his ground quite well. But, his style is suited as an art than a sport. Many people may not become so skilled to use King fu the way Ehsan uses it.

The thing I love about Ehsan, is that he takes all of these normally impractical but really flashy and awesome kicks, and actually makes them work. You know, the kind of Kung-Fu that a lot of folks like to call "dancing" or "gymnastics". And of course, for the average martial artist, it really is just dancing or gymnastics, but Ehsan Shafiq is not an average martial artist!
