becoming a young adult in the 60's, Joan touched me in so many ways. This song always held special meaning to me and all my loves who I once knew, that with time somehow faded away quietly from my life.
me me me meeeee !!! :) she was a babe back then, and soooo great now huh... what a clip!!! I think it's longer than the one they cut for no direction home. She really is great isn't she? I had no idea until recently. I'll bet he was a nice guy.. :) i love stories like that.
i first saw Joan at the Hollywood Bowl in 1969, at least I think it was. Just a kid at the time, but oh what an impact, and she still does. A mesmerizing lady.
ya, there is a story we are never really going to know.......probably better that way, baez and dylan inspired the world that a 20th century relationship could be kept untouched by the media and therefore pure
hello everybody, the song is really wonderful: it's peaceful and the text by bob dylan is really awesome. This rendering is very characteristic and singular. The setting is meaningful and Joan's great. Very good, I'm gonna buy the whole documentary, I hope in Italian. Sara? do you mean the same Sara of the homonym (magnificent) song by Bob Dylan?
I never saw or heard about this documentary by Scorsese - I can't believe I missed it. I have been a fan since I was a teen in the sixties. I wonder if it's avaiable somewhere. Thanks for posting this beautiful song.
greetings from cologne--there is this dvd" no direction home "--you get it for example on ebay--its symply awfull--tell me about your impressions when you have seen it--thanks
Thank you, I'll check it out! I'm surprised at your reaction to it; I've heard only positive feedback about it, but, not having seen it for myself, I cannot really comment. I am curious, however, as to why you didn't like it... was it the production quality? The subject matter? The direction? Thanks.
unfortunately not going to happen, they tried to a while back but dylan apparently was being a bit of a lech and trying to rekindle old flames so she quit the tour
Is the part where Joan impersonates Dylan's vocals in the documentary? Or is this and extended cut, becasue I remember this scene just not some parts of it. Good vid
amazing close-up camera work? well, it oughta be, it`s Scorsese`s documentary!watch the whole movie if you like dylan or baez, great insight into their relationship, after which Joan decides not to answer any more questions on that matter (finally).
In this documentary Joan Baez says that Bob Dylan wrote it, she liked it a lot and recorded it. When Bob Dylan heard it on the radio he said: "That's a nice song". he didn't remember he wrote it!
Thanks for posting this video. I really enjoyed it. And I don't see any reason for you to apologize.... you said exactly what needed to be said. Dylan wrote the song and Joan performed it for the documentary. Nice job. Thanks again....

so funny when she starts to sing like bob dylan! she still sings beautifully after all these years and looks great for her age.

Ha, ha. I loved it when she sings like Bob. She did the same thing live. I guess there is some bond between them that will never die, no matter what.
larean57 1 year ago
i cant believe her voice is still so awesome after all these years
this is pure beauty. i dont know if dylan wrote it with baez in mind but it definitely seems like it was made for her to sing.
