Actually it's not. Anub'Arak heroic hard mode is harder, as well as yogg-saron 0+.

Mimiron Firefigher is also very hard, not sure is it harder than Algalon but almost.

Yea, Algalon really isnt a hard fight at all, its quite easy, the only hard thing about it is that you only have 1 hour per week. Having the timer there also effects your performance imo it makes you panic a bit more and hurry things along. But there are quite a few fights harder than him.

Well from what was posted on blue forums, it seems the ONLY thing intended to be puggable is the normal way of fighting bosses on 10 and 25 so that the majority of the population can see the content. The hard modes including this boss who is only on a hard mode is for the skilled and hardcore. So, I wouldn't say the only reason he's not puggable is due to the 1 hour spawn time, but that this fight and the rest of the HARD modes are NOT intended to be puggable at 80. Ever.

Sunwell was puggable. It just wasn't very likely to find random pugs that were in full BT/Hyjal gear.

Things that most would base "puggable" off of is relative to the base max lv gear. Any tard can get a toon to 80. All those tards are gonna wanna go do a raid. You put a group together and what do you usually find? There will be at least a few well geared people that can help carry any slack that first month of content being out you wouldn't be able to do.

Then you get into the higher content. You have the tards that might have gotten lucky with a few pieces of gear looking for pugs. You're most likely to get a lot of tards and not be able to carry them. You just have a smaller pool to pug from. But when sunwell first came out there were some guilds still needing to do stuff in BT that held off as a guild and some players pugged Sunwell, got 4-5 bosses down and in the case of my server "random pug" was most progressed on server.
