have had about 4 niva's an staill have one that i goe 4x4 driving in has had it flaws but have spend the last year or so making mods to it to make it even better goes just about any where have surprised a few of the 4x4 club member's where it can go .love it an currently making a roll cage for it .
I bought my Niva yesterday - I´m so excited about that little Russian! Wonderful car, full of flaws onroad compared to what I had before - let´s find out what it can do for the purpose it was built for! And I hope it will turn out as a r e l i a b l e little charmer, rumors sometimes have it otherwise...
@positivismusstreit you won't regret getting one. It does not need a road.. it just goes forward..(that's even Lada Niva's moto) nothing can stop it..
Thanks! It's not that new actually. It's from 1992, 1.6 engine, but still going strong. I've had to change bits and pieces here and there when they started to rot, fall off or otherwise disintegrate. But I love my Green Olga - she's a real charmer...
I owned a brand new Lada Niva here in New Zealand in the late 1980's, it would go almost anywhere as long as the motor kept running - never guaranteed! There was also the Cossack version - mag wheels, body trim, still a Niva though, Fiat 124 motor. Then some enterprising engineer converted Nivas into flat deck farm utes by replacing the rear covered passenger section with decking. Still several Nivas around - they (and the little Suzis) will go places the other, bigger 4WDs won't.
Great car man ... i'm buying one

Well built. And simple in design. Wish I owned one.

Tidligere Niva ejer. Drømmer stadig om at få en sådan igen. Det er en fantastisk 4x4. Totalt undervurderet.
