@PXssss You can get them at martial art schools or online stores. Be careful when shopping online though their are alot of weapon replicas passed off as the real weapon. Get one that is just a little taller than you. You may also want to get shin guards as I have smack myself many times in the legs. It REALLY hurts.

All these bo staff videos are with bo's that have been tapered so that they are real fast, but they would never stand up to a solid hit from another bo. Matter of fact they would crack if properly blocked too. A real bo breaks things, it doesnt break itself.

There is truth to the story that civilian use of weapons in Japan was outlawed around the feudal age or so. Traditional Tae Kwon Do uses the Kobudo weapon system man, which is from Japan, with Tadashi Yamashita's knowledge of such, and yes you may look that name up, as I have met him before. Having a black belt in such myself, I can tell you the Kobudo system is extremely efficient. The only joke I can see here is your attitude towards the martial arts. Do you realize 2,000 psi is enough to easily kill someone. Do some research before you come on youtube making assumtions. You ruin it for others.
They can literally talk you to death about speed, radius, range, distance, movement, and more useless numbers, but they don't know sh*t when it comes to form and technique.

I recently research various arts and the conclusion based on what I had found was that Ancient Pancration spawned all other arts. It spread from Europe through India and eventually S.E Asia. I had also heard that about Kung Fu which is said to be the grandfather to all martial arts (I wouldn't and can't dispute that). Who knows for sure? I like ALL arts. I train BJJ/Muay Thai/wrestling and have trained boxing. If you like one, you must have respect for all.

@Kotaro94 There are quite a handful of stories as to the origin of the nunchaku. One well-known story is that it was originally a farming tool for harvesting rice or something like that. There is truth to the story that civilian use of weapons in Japan was outlawed around the feudal age or so. Civilians then improvised with farming tools, such as the sai, bo, and other things to defend themselves against the samurai. The nunchaku was apparently one of those tools as well.

@1102071 I think the only reason they emphasize the 'Asian' martial arts so much is because they are just more accessible. You can open the phone book and find 6 pages just of Asian martial arts schools, where you'd have to do some research to find anyone who still teaches the European quarterstaff, other than Rennaissance and re-enactment troupes. I like how they focused almost entirely on just asian arts, since when did martial arts ONLY mean eastern asia? What about europe? Africa (some interesting weapons there)? Other parts of asia? Greece? Did they even think about the effects of a claymore sword or an indian katar? The so called "perfect weapon" according to this show is a katana...

Traditional Tae Kwon Do uses the Kobudo weapon system man, which is from Japan, with Tadashi Yamashita's knowledge of such, and yes you may look that name up, as I have met him before. Having a black belt in such myself, I can tell you the Kobudo system is extremely efficient. The only joke I can see here is your attitude towards the martial arts. Do you realize 2,000 psi is enough to easily kill someone. Do some research before you come on youtube making assumtions. You ruin it for others.

I recently research various arts and the conclusion based on what I had found was that Ancient Pancration spawned all other arts. It spread from Europe through India and eventually S.E Asia. I had also heard that about Kung Fu which is said to be the grandfather to all martial arts (I wouldn't and can't dispute that). Who knows for sure? I like ALL arts. I train BJJ/Muay Thai/wrestling and have trained boxing. If you like one, you must have respect for all.
