Leo Varadkar was clueless on Vincent Browne. This rising star of Fine Gael was shown up as a political imbecile for his inability to do deal with a very basic question on VAT. On the surface, he bamboozles us with numbers which he probably struggles to understand himself. VAT hits the poorer incomes harder than it does the rich, as many studies have shown. His opposition to property tax is also baffling. And Fine Gael's health plan is simply unequal and unfair. The Irish Tories are unpalatable.
