i caught this trout today, and it swallowed the hook. i had to borrow some plyers from the guy next to me. it was almost impossible to get the hook out
if they start bleeding from the gills, you should keep em, because chances are he won't make it but if its bleeding from the upper mouth it has a chance.
@physchohead24 sometimes "fishing" a hook out does more damage than good most often than not its better to bite the line and let the hook degrade and fall out, unless your using barbless than its very easy to take the hook out. and i am aware that leaving a hook in is bad as well just better chance of the fish not bleeding
@physchohead24 try Circle hooks they work just dont set the hook you reel down with tension then lift rod over head slow it will slide out of the belly and catch its mouth.Make sure its always sharp a 3 dollar hand hook stone works best use it after live baitin shiners gets them dull fom stickin it thru em!
great job! you can tell you raised your daughters well. I take guys out fishing that don't get the concept of pulling up on the rod, and reeling down, and the younger girl knew what is was right away! good job!
love how your camera just breaks right as you put it under water

where did you catch it?

Make sure you keep the rod down- If the fish jumps, it can shake its head at least 5x harder than underwater.

Way to go. I love fishing with my daughter she thinks fish are cute too. Except for catfish she thinks those are scary. Nice release by the way.

Lesson learned, I hope. Always have a pair on you when you go fishing....

You can buy some forceps or pliers, or you can actually get a pair of hook removers.
