If this isn't inspiration in itself...then I don't know what is! I didn't understand anything being said but you and the ppl. at the restaurant clearly understood each other. It makes me want to learn chinese now, lol.
I tip my hat to you. I'm very very impress with your Mandarin. I have been very interested in learning a second language. I have a friend from China. He been teaching me some words. I find it difficult understanding some of the words. You have inspired me. I live in Detroit, let me know when you are conducting another class.
I love this video! This is motivation at its best! The look on there faces, as you start speaking Mandarin is just priceless. LoL...I do the same exact thing when I go to the mall to practice Mandarin. More often than not, I usually walk away with a discount or free food just because I spoke some Mandarin.
You know what would be the most awesome thing? If you could make more videos like these, practising and conversing with the native speakers. Man, that would be wicked!
Agreed. Actually, this was a good instance where I could practice listening, because the speech is so basic and slow, and its all the type of questions/answers I'm familiar with (or going to be asked) anyway.
That's not ture. At least I haven't experienced that before. I've been to plenty of Chinese places where I didn't buy anything, but they still were happy to speak with me.
that is so true, my best friend is chinese and that is all get talks about, and he remembers if he loans me a quarter, three months after the fact, thats one of the reasons i love him :0)
I like your humor after walking out of the food shop. I can't believe, too, those stores are lettin' you get by filming and all. Most stores won't allow film or photography.
You should give'em a little taste of what its like to be a non-yellow in China with the Chinese's infinite capacity for underhanded compliments. When they pop out an English sentence, "天啊!你会说一点点的英语,真了不起。 你的英语真好。 你会写字母吗?真的?你会写多少?10个?
Dude this is so awesome! " where you learn chinese..?" I get that alot when i speak Spanish or Samoan. Im still working on my chinese and now im studying Zulu. You could be a very importent asset to this country Laoshu, especially for "us" if you know what im sayin? I hate when people say " you came to america; you need to speak english" because we could always learn to speak their language and you sir are a prime example! Keep it up bro..
enjoyed, thanks for sharing.

Chinese care about money, if you don't buy something from them, they don't talk to you.
