  • Mystery House... very old school but important as one of the pioneer games to feature computer graphics as well as the first game by On-Line Systems that would start the Sierra revolution!

  • amazing.

  • I have always wanted too play this game

  • 7:30

-Would you like to play again?- NEVER!!

Thank you for playing this game. Goodbye. :)

  • thumbs up if you wasted your time with this

  • To their great surprise, Mystery House was an enormous success, quickly becoming a best-seller at a first-release price of USD$24.95. Eventually, it sold more than 10,000 copies, which was a record-breaking phenomenon for the time.

  • Mystery House was an instant hit. It was the first computer adventure game to have graphics, although they were crude, monochrome, static line drawings. It sold about 15,000 copies and earned $167,000.

  • ierra Entertainment Inc.[1] (formerly Sierra On-Line) was an American video-game developer and publisher founded in 1979 as On-Line Systems by Ken and Roberta Williams. Based in Fresno, California, the company was last owned by Activision, a subsidiary of Activision Blizzard.

  • saw this in my game informer

  • sierra was good in these days but when they got crash and spyro sierra got fucked then bankrupt

  • ...

So, this person is n00by enough to trip over a rug, and start a massive fucking fire, and not just walk out of the house?

  • Won best GOTY 1980 at aoiea.webs.com :)

  • What a milestone in gaming history!

  • well the graphics are atrocious but hey- it was 1980-something. Now if only we could have Sierra Online (or another, non-bankrupted) software company redesign this bad boy....hell yes

  • @AvacadoDesperado Sierra's later game, Colonel's Bequest could be considered a spiritual successor to this game.

  • I found this sometime in the 90s in a back room of a school along with an Apple 2.

Never could beat it. A pity what happened to the company.

  • @Roguethoughts I think they started making soda.

  • I really loved this game - I played it over and over even after I solved it - the only hard part was getting lost in the forest, but I remember my dad found a cheat - your trouble in this gameplay was that you forgot to fill the pitcher with water to douse the fire with - thanks for posting this!

  • press return to continue?

  • noob

  • ^+1

  • where can we download this game

  • best . . . . graphics . . . . EVAR!!!!!

  • I like Emily Short's take on Mystery House.

  • haven't played this game since i was REALY young. I love this video becase the only part of the game i can still remember is tripping over that damned rug and starting a fire....hopefully i can find this game again...thnx for the memories.

  • Thy Dungeonman 3: BEHOLD THINE GRAPHICS!!!

  • Ahh.. Sierra Online. The once brilliant gaming company, now destroyed by a mismanaged hotel.

  • The first computer adventure game with graphics.

  • kind of silly to play through and get killed...too bad you didn't do a full playthrough. I really enjoy this game a lot, still today.
