  • i would love a remake of the dune movies, with the tech we can make the flora and fauna of arakis as beautiful as pandora from avatar

  • That's how I get to work. On the worm. Cause I'm Epic that way.

  • the worm who is god

  • this movie sucked. the books were amazing but the movie just could not live up to the books. just sayin

  • @Dumbeldump Disagree with you completely. Love the books, love the movies take on it.

  • @GermanChocolateCake to each there own. (^_^)

  • the sci fi channel remake just didnt have the same great actors or their actors just couldnt deliver the lines the same way.

  • Shadow of the colossus.

  • Shai-Huluduuuh!

  • 1:45 "Hey sorry I'm late guys, had to drain the pee outta my stillsuit...did I miss anything?"

  • Ride the worm!

  • The amount of water they're all losing in those stillsuits...

  • You left out the epic air guitar part.

  • i saw both scenes... i prefer this one... more epic!

  • @rexregum the Shai Hulud looks more frightening in 1984 movie han at 2000 tv series

  • @losttribe

The Children of Dune series had the best ones.

  • Wormsign!!!!

  • and then you cut the best part out wen everett joins him on the top

  • when I grow up thats what I want to do!

  • everyone on the PARTY WORM!!!!!1!

  • You see... your death... my blade will finish you.

  • co to kurwa jest?!?

  • Someone should do a Dune-Avatar parody featuring this movie clips set to Avatar's trailer since they are the same kind of movie.

  • @Johnlindsey289 i got a better idea, the part where jake tames the bird in avatar.... all the blue guys should say "Shai Hulud" :).

  • @Doowoo

Good idea or how about having clips from both Lynch and 2000 mini-series synched to Avatar's trailer. Maybe when i get that Abobe movie maker i'll do a fake Dune trailer set to Avatar's clips set to the audio from the Dune trailer

  • I like the movie sandworm better. The scene when it surfaces was just awesome in the theater. And guess what?? No computers.

  • @godzilloid

    Have you read the book?

  • @Johnlindsey289 Only the first. Too many other things to read

  • @godzilloid Yeah seriously. This sandworm looks great! It looks real! Way more impressive than todays special effects. Why don't they do this type of thing with big budget movies?

  • @WolfySnackrib666

They are gonna redo this movie and make it 3 parts for the big screen to do the book justice since this is based on an excellent Sci-fi novel.

  • @Johnlindsey289 I bet the sandworm will be CGI and I will cry :(

  • @WolfySnackrib666

CGI is a great tool that was used nicely with films like Lord of the Rings, King Kong or Avatar which had amazing realistic techniques of bringing creatures to life. The sandworms in this movie look so dumb and not realistic, they look like turds with mouth.

  • @Johnlindsey289 I like how you name modern movies from the 2000s and compare their CGI to an 80s movie.

  • @nocandy4u2

Have you read the book? CGI is the best tool now for the modern audience

  • @Johnlindsey289

Once men turned their thinking over to machines in the hope that this would set them free. But that only permitted other men with machines to enslave them.

  • @Johnlindsey289

Of course SFX has made great strides in the past 20 years...what do you expect? Where you even born when this movie was released? Personally I can get burned out on all the overdone CGI/3-D crap Hollywood has been releasing.

  • @Hpynos2010

    1981 born.

  • the fremen arn't white

  • @bluballzzz The novels never really say. Judging from the names and language a lot of people stick with the idea that they're arabic looking.

  • @spacecowboy5000 dune describes their hair as being very dark and thick like an arabs. it also says that one of the revrend mothers has brown arms. Also leit keyes didn't have the blue eyes but people could tell he was part fremen; probly by his skin color

  • ...I'll ride the m.f.

  • I want a thumper for my front yard. ...worm come, so be it.

  • Paul Atreides;

"man, I am so fucking manly for riding a giant intestine."

  • the scene with the sandworm rising was so cool to see in the theater. it's too bad that the sound couldn't have matched the scene.

  • happy "we back stabbed the natives who saved our sorry asses by wiping them out" day everybody.

  • @pillsburydoughboy47 and a big "we get it mr blogger day" to you as well. Go write what we already know on a blog. Stop associating the entirety of the United States, most of whose ancestors probably arrived after the freaking PURITANS, with the genocide of the Native americans. We get it. By the way, my family came during the franco-prussian war, so don't in any way shape or form associate us with the native american genocide. troll.

  • @2814haljordan and how the fuck do you think the homesteaders survived bitch? Man, without instructions on the hunting grounds they would not have survived the winters out west which are even worse than the east coast's!

  • @pillsburydoughboy47 listen, I know what happened to the native american people was one of the worst eras in the history of the US, but really I don't spend every single thanksgiving trying to guilt my relatives by telling them that this holiday is associated with genocide. We all know it happened. For christ's sake, there are movies about it. Stop trying to sound "deep". It just makes you sound pretentious. Now stop reminding us what we all know and let me eat my damn turkey.

  • the reason "Dune" is so well respected, is because ALL of it is possible; there is zero "imagination only" sci fi in it, its 100% scientifically accurate, the only real creative liberty is the spice but even that lately has some backing in the field of quantum mechanics. Certain chemicals not yet discovered, may alter the very way one perceives the universe, and space time. This may be tough to swallow but the sand worms are actually biologically possible on other planets.

  • Awsome and classic movie. When will someone make a decent game out of this?

  • This is the best dune bye far the remakes suck.

  • @godsspartin117 and there`s another remake on the way.

  • @thepotterful shut the *F* up you mother F'er; they've been saying that since 1998!

  • @pillsburydoughboy47 you`re kind of an angry little boy inside arnt you doughboy, i`m guessing you needed longer on the tit.

  • @thepotterful doesn't change the fact that you're a mother F'er for saying something that's been said since 1998 god damn it. Unless you're a movie producer putting in the actual money shut the F up you mother F'er.

    STOP GETTING PEOPLE'S HOPES UP.

  • @pillsburydoughboy47 wow you sound like a country fan :)

  • @godsspartin117 the sci fi channel mini series isn't a remake, but a near word for word badly acted narrative of the major "Dune" novels which I had the misfortune of watching back in college. The Lynch movie is actually vastly superior I agree. Can you believe I actually watched the ENTIRE sci fi channel mini series in a single sitting? It was the end of the summer session at WSU so, nothing better to do.

  • Looks like Captain Ahab on Moby Dick.

  • Whenever I watch this scene, I can always hear "Run Like Hell" by Pink Floyd. Lol
