  • They played at our Junior Prom in 1975...it was good.

  • Thank you....!!!!!

  • Let Roll the old times

    never forget this.

  • ahhhhhh fuck i'm sittin here smokin ajoint and the memories scream into my head and its endless

  • thankyou,(by the way, mine goes to 11:message to crazybear 65)This was a good song to do so many things I'd have been grounded for doing.

  • Have played this for years from an e-version I somehow acquired. Never knew the name of the song or the group. Just LOVE the voices and the way they blend together! One of my all time favorites. THANKS FOR SHARING!!

  • I've always loved this song. Thank you for sharing : )

  • You need to hear this in true quadrophonic, with four foot high Fisher tower speakers from the late 70s, cranked up to ten...

  • Thanks for uploading this song! I loved this song when I was young but have never known who played it. This is awesome!

  • Hope David LaFlamme is well. I've been out of orbit for a while but I will always love him and his fiddle!.

  • nice song . Thank you

  • First song Michel Tearson played on WMMR in Philly at the beginning of "Underground" radio - what a time that was.

  • @charleyoneal1 Absolutely a brilliant time in music, especially with Tearson and his late night show in Philly. So many different artists; so widely divergent So few can compare and so few do anything like it today. Peace!

  • It`s A Beautiful Day Ended When

The Golden Voice Of Lead Singer

    Beautiful Patti Santos Died In

    Her Car Crash 12/14/1989.

    RIP Patti, We Miss You

  • Awesome !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thanks for the beautiful manage and music. A classic that has unfortunately been forgotten by many. Trying to get this in kareoke version for my machine. Cudos to you.

  • Superb!

  • Korvinski- Ya nailed that one man. A lot of the music was pure and from the soul unlike much of the junk played now. The times were so much better. We were beginning to come slowly out of a terrible war and so many of us were trying to unite despite all the problems unlike now. Maybe this country could tale a lesson from us. The best era ever. Might make it more friendly place. Rock On Bro.

  • It's about the band when they were couped up in an attic room with cabin fever. The bird flying was to symbolize there freedom from the room in the dreads of winter.

  • C'est ce qu'on peut écouter de mieux, en terme de musique. C'est beau, c'est harmonieux, c'est envoûtant, certainement. Une finale symphonique et magistrale. Ouf!

  • Here's a place in time that society forgot. When music was cool, groovy & innocent. Lyrics were clean and people were pure and unspoiled. Unlike today how media serves our kids a bunch of FILTH where lyrics of gang-sta rap & hip-hop are full of profanity, recording artists are horny sexual beings portrayed in videos & pop stars are admired for getting in trouble with the law - WHAT kind of CRAP is that ?? Just citing how societal erosion is deteriorating the very fabric that holds us together.

  • A teacher in HS around 1985 gave me a cassette of George Winston & at the end was this song but I never knew the title or the artist and the only words I remembered were 'white bird'. My kids introduced me to youtube and thanks to the miracle of the internet those two words were all I needed to find this song. Haven't heard it since '85 but the melody stayed in my head and I always hoped I'd somehow find it. I used to look for it on 45 at used record stores but never found it. Love this!

  • their voices are so amazing !!

  • This song's about a chicken, just saying.

  • @bbbaaalll1 lol !

  • thank you to everyone involved, in the day, such beautiful memories, peace and love.

  • for some reason, this song makes me depressed and gripped with a feeling of hopelessness :(

  • @BeyondNeptune it all depends on your perspective.

  • Danced to the song in the early 70's at HSU (Humboldt State University), met David Laflamme and since danced a few years ago in San Luis Obispo, prior to David and Linda Laflamme moving north, leaving San Luis. Wonderful Group even to this day.

David at the time didn't know he was talking about a girl with Aerial photography job. lol! =) he has met me since.

  • I REALLY WISH? IDONT KNOW??

    WHERE ARE YOU JEFF SAYL0R?

    LEAH..........XOXO

  • I REALLY WISH? IDONT KNOW??

  • did catherine hicks and david hasselloff record a version of this song? very pretty song. would love to learn it for karaoke. does anyone know if it's on karaoke?

  • Excellent!

  • I first heard this song on Knight Rider and liked it so much I bought a few versions, and they are all awesome!

  • after a hard day at work you come home all stressed out so you play this song or others from this era and you are transported back to your childhood. No cares in the world, just run and play. I miss those days but at least you have the memories of a wonderful time in your life

  • Beautiful!

  • He made me dance to this to. I just told people that I have songs that brought me threw cancer. I feel i am the white bird.

  • Was Marrying Maiden the first album of theirs.. I seem to remember the cover being in gold and yellow .. was the blue cover the second album? Thanks.. Thank you for the beautiful video....

  • wow really cool song never heard it before i like it!

  • What great visuals for a great, great song! thanks you so much for bringing back a special piece of our past...

  • I love this song - had the album - played it all the time. This is a great quality version. Thank you! The photos are great! Excellent job! Haven't heard this in long time.

  • This Album is Totally Outstanding!! I Love most psychedelic tunes like BEAUTIFUL DAY; GREATFUL DEAD; QUICKSILVER; JEFFERSON AIRPLANE; COUNTRY JOE & THE FISH; BIG BROTHER; etc. etc. My dad turned me on to this music when I was just a little one. I'm 33 now and still love it!! My dad was 17 years old in the summer of love. He took lots of LSD while listening to this... however for me, it brings back great memories of my childhood and of the great times my dad and I had together. 5X5 STARS!!

  • I saw them play in Miami in 70 or 71 (not sure) and was blown away. I'd never heard an electric violin before. The song stayed with me all my life. Ethereal, haunting, beautiful. I just love it.

  • Beautiful ,

    This is Unbelivable !!!

    Thanks Mr. Joe!

    Cynthia

  • Great job on the video (Bacmaster), Many Thanks

  • OMG, I love this song. When I was "younger" lol, I had two friends give me the album with this song as they knew how much I loved this particular song. I live on the east coast and not a very hip (LOL) area. I am still kind of a freaky song lover for an old lady of sixty! Not that I think that this song is freaky but I have always been circle of what my friends like. Hey, I need new people!

  • @Bacmaster And me and another guy I know, which makes, uh - - - lemme see . . . FOUR!

  • One of my favorite songs from one of my favorite vinyls. I can get lost in this song

  • Heard this track once in a episode of "Knight Rider"? :-)

  • This song is so......hmmm.....otherworldly....when I need a fix, I just listen and am transported....

  • Just ordered the CD cant get enough of of it

  • @9111Alan You made a wise choice. You'll never hear music like this ever again.

  • @Bacmaster Hey, kiddo - Don't leave out de possum-abilities.

    Peace be with you.

  • @Bacmaster Sadly true. Not in our lifetime.

  • @Bacmaster ~ It is indeed very special .... I have loved this song forever and your video is simply beautiful....

  • @9111Alan

where did you get the cd?

    rina

  • For Doris...

  • enjoyed the visuals....thanks for your time and effort...always fancied this song.

  • this is tight

  • At the very end when they say she must fly i always wait to hear the words or she will die but it never happens lol so i jus fill in the words

  • i was lucky enough to have seen beautiful day and santana play in philly at the spectrum - never-to-be-forgotten performances (well obviously LOL - i'm awake at 2 AM finding them LOL)

  • I remember this song when it came out when I was in HS.. I always thought it was so mellow..so much a reflection of the stoned age of the hippie movement... free spirited..the electric violin sounded so good if u played this on a good stereo..it was a psychedelic song

  • This is so beautyful .. Good memories come streaming through my mind .. White Bird .. Oh .. It`s so nice to hear it again ..

  • i thought this was grace slick and jefferson airplane until i started using youtube.

  • @The096757 I would have bet money that it was airplane too. I need the names of the members of It's a Beautiful Day. Anyone know?

  • @leonkushner It's a Beautiful Day was a band formed in San Francisco, California in 1967

LaFlamme, a former soloist with the Utah Symphony Orchestra, had previously been in the band Orkustra, and unusually, played a five-string violin. The other members were his wife Linda (keyboards), Pattie Santos (vocals), Hal Wagenet (guitar), Mitchell Holman (bass) and Val Fuentes (drums)

  • @Bacmaster Thanks for that info. What a talented group. I love that song when I was a kid and still love it now.

  • @Bacmaster you did it better than I thanx.

  • @leonkushner John Laflemm. or Laflamm. they were so secretive for some reason. but i am glad the young generation can identify with this great music.

  • @The096757 Linda's voice is sweeter; Grace is a rocker full of heavy blues...all great artists!

  • @The096757 me too

  • Love this song

  • This bird dreams of a familiar sea caressing me.

  • I've never heard the long-version of this softly psychedelic song, (until now).

Reminds me of good wine, sunset at the beach, and even better company.

BACMASTER: Your posts on "THE TUBE" are the best...Thank You!

  • I always loved how Marty and Grace harmonized...... Air Violin ? You go girl, Arpeggio (rock) On !!!!!!!!!!!

  • Whew!!! my hair's a lot shorter. Hey, I'm a cue ball!!! but It's a Beautiful Day. Lordie, they were a great trip. Jim

  • @Pi227ths I too am and was captivaated by this song, for many reasons.

  • Just beautiful...

  • Just Wonderful !!

    To be 18 again OMG.

  • It was written in Seattle.

  • So, so great. Such an example of peace and love generation rock music.

  • White Bird, in a golden cage...

  • This song rules!! Goosebumps every time.

  • Thank you for taking the time to put this together, it is really wonderful. Heard this piece on a radio station and just had to look it up to hear it again. I love listening to people who know how to play their instruments, and understand a little bit about music. Developing a melody is a sign of craftsmanship and skill. So hard to find those things anywhere anymore.
