Have played this for years from an e-version I somehow acquired. Never knew the name of the song or the group. Just LOVE the voices and the way they blend together! One of my all time favorites. THANKS FOR SHARING!!
@charleyoneal1 Absolutely a brilliant time in music, especially with Tearson and his late night show in Philly. So many different artists; so widely divergent So few can compare and so few do anything like it today. Peace!
Thanks for the beautiful manage and music. A classic that has unfortunately been forgotten by many. Trying to get this in kareoke version for my machine. Cudos to you.
Korvinski- Ya nailed that one man. A lot of the music was pure and from the soul unlike much of the junk played now. The times were so much better. We were beginning to come slowly out of a terrible war and so many of us were trying to unite despite all the problems unlike now. Maybe this country could tale a lesson from us. The best era ever. Might make it more friendly place. Rock On Bro.
It's about the band when they were couped up in an attic room with cabin fever. The bird flying was to symbolize there freedom from the room in the dreads of winter.
C'est ce qu'on peut écouter de mieux, en terme de musique. C'est beau, c'est harmonieux, c'est envoûtant, certainement. Une finale symphonique et magistrale. Ouf!
Here's a place in time that society forgot. When music was cool, groovy & innocent. Lyrics were clean and people were pure and unspoiled. Unlike today how media serves our kids a bunch of FILTH where lyrics of gang-sta rap & hip-hop are full of profanity, recording artists are horny sexual beings portrayed in videos & pop stars are admired for getting in trouble with the law - WHAT kind of CRAP is that ?? Just citing how societal erosion is deteriorating the very fabric that holds us together.
A teacher in HS around 1985 gave me a cassette of George Winston & at the end was this song but I never knew the title or the artist and the only words I remembered were 'white bird'. My kids introduced me to youtube and thanks to the miracle of the internet those two words were all I needed to find this song. Haven't heard it since '85 but the melody stayed in my head and I always hoped I'd somehow find it. I used to look for it on 45 at used record stores but never found it. Love this!
Danced to the song in the early 70's at HSU (Humboldt State University), met David Laflamme and since danced a few years ago in San Luis Obispo, prior to David and Linda Laflamme moving north, leaving San Luis. Wonderful Group even to this day.
David at the time didn't know he was talking about a girl with Aerial photography job. lol! =) he has met me since.
Rocked out a "It's a Beautiful Day" concert in Portland, OR, 1972. This really brought back the memories! I was 16 years old. I love this song. Still have the vinyl I purchased by them that year! :)

This Album is Totally Outstanding!! I Love most psychedelic tunes like BEAUTIFUL DAY; GREATFUL DEAD; QUICKSILVER; JEFFERSON AIRPLANE; COUNTRY JOE & THE FISH; BIG BROTHER; etc. etc. My dad turned me on to this music when I was just a little one. I'm 33 now and still love it!! My dad was 17 years old in the summer of love. He took lots of LSD while listening to this... however for me, it brings back great memories of my childhood and of the great times my dad and I had together. 5X5 STARS!!

Not that I think that this song is freaky but I have always been circle of what my friends like. Hey, I need new people!
i was lucky enough to have seen beautiful day and santana play in philly at the spectrum - never-to-be-forgotten performances (well obviously LOL - i'm awake at 2 AM finding them LOL)
I remember this song when it came out when I was in HS.. I always thought it was so mellow..so much a reflection of the stoned age of the hippie movement... free spirited..the electric violin sounded so good if u played this on a good stereo..it was a psychedelic song
@leonkushner It's a Beautiful Day was a band formed in San Francisco, California in 1967
