very nice! I love how you have them spaced perfectly on the beat, very difficult when doing so with a double recording duet! Bravo!! (ps:what flute do you play on)
ahhh i love bach :D my sister and i do duets all the time. Don't you think it's kind of creepy when your whole entire family plays the flute as in entire family like great grandfather, great grandmother, aunts, uncles, cousins. That's kind of scary O.o LOL.
Great! i Love it! is that an extended b foot? it has great tone.... does it have the plastic filling in the middle of some of the buttons? mine has the b foot. but it doesnt sound that good, but i guess it took alot of practice! :)
i play flute! woo hoo and i'm like the best well maybe not the best but i am the first chair though so that counts for somethin doesn't it? well? no pressure comment on this
Bravo FluteMark, excellent recording of my favorite song. I wish more people could hear what real music sounds like. Thanks for making it more of a reality
wow..... that was so good.... i am only a teen and i have been playing flute since i was in 4th grade. In a compititon i got a 27/28 TWICE!...:] and im going again this yr. but that was excellent... the only thing i would rec(and i no... i no...a grown man who takes advice from a young teen?..but,) is that you try and keep your flute UP when you play rather than slanted towards the ground... this is what my private teacher told me. KEEP IT UP!!! YOUR AWESOMEEE!!!!
Fantastic !!. I discovered Flute 1 Month ago. It's a pity I discovered Flute so old (49 years), but I discovered a new passion. My comliments again, .. and visit my site to leave me a suggest.
Yes, technically, it is a trio sonato for flute, violin, harpsichord, and cello. I am playing only the flute and violin parts on flute - both parts. Thanks!
Your video clip is great and I've rated it as awesome. Please check out mine on some 1920's trading cards of musical instruments, including the flute.
wow you're really good. I've done this duet thing with a tape recorder but it sucked. i should try using the computer with this sometime! thanks for the idea, and good job.
ie: High fingers... I would take critisism like that with a grain of salt when comming from someone who has never posted a recording of themselves or has never been heard of by anyone in or out of the professional field. The proof it in the pudding on how you play. Keep up the great work and don't let any negativity get you down. We all love you Mark!!
You sounds really great! You must have been playing for years! I wish I could be that good! And great idea about the duet with yourself, it turned out awesome :)
high finger action doesn't make your pads wear faster, in fact in holds back your technique so you don't compress and flip, but then your finger height should adjust accordingly to the speed and the techinique demanded for the music. I think criticism is overrated, if it sounds good, it is good.
Answers to common questions I have received via emails: Muramatsu DS Flute, Miyazawa MZ-6 head joint, Canon ZR40 video camera, Sony ECM-MS907 external microphone, Windows Movie Maker, Picture-in-Picture XML plug-in.
I toured the Haynes shop in 2002 and purchased an LJD model. It was a great flute. I sold it and purchased a Muramatsu DS in 2004. I wonder if Haynes quality has changed since they were purchased by Eastman Strings?
The quality appears to be the same. Tried some out at a flute fair and they were fine. I would take a Haynes over a Muramatsu any day. Totally different craftsmanship and beauty more so in the Haynes.
That was pretty good. Although difficult to do, how about adding some dynamics; otherwise it becomes a long run-on piece of work. Still need to get your fingers lower. High fingers makes eveness difficult and wears your pads out faster.
Thanks for the comments. Those are two things I am working on. Years of bad habits are hard to break. Nevertheless, I am working on them esp. on T&G EP4.
Welcome. You will probably want to use a mirror when practicing scales and it shouldn't take too long to lower the fingers. Try thinking of almost touching the keys and your fingers will get lower. Pitch is getting more focused but sometimes around B,C,D tend to be sharp. Remember, focus into the flute. Probably need to exaggerate it for a short time cause your ears are hearing it sharp and are tricked into believing they're right.
Hi Mark, Phenominal playing. You are really an inspiration to me. Questions: What sofware did you use to put the picture in picture? (What is the tapping noise at 2:40...Wife wondering when you are coming out of your "studio"? Really great audio in this video.
