Lorraine Nubar (Julliard vocal instructor) .She remains in her head voice the majority of the time which is the safest voice for her, so as not to put too much pressure on her lungs and not to push too much air through her chords. Jackie is not a "belter" therefore puts no strain on the vocal chords. Performs Italian form " Bel Canto"

Jackie has a voice like no other I have heard in my 67 years, She is not trying to copy anyone. She now so far ahead at 10/11 years old it will take hundred of years to reach her stardom and then it will only be a copy of her.

I can't help but notice how articulate she is in each interview. Very few ums and other placeholding words in any of them. She actually thinks about what she'll say before she says it. I think it's lovely that she believes her voice is a gift from God and is appropriately grateful, and it's fantastic that she consciously realizes that her parents are striving to balance her professional and personal lives. She seems very grounded, and in someone becoming famous at her age that's invaluable.

I hated Piers Morgan in this interview. Putting the girl on a pedestal. All that pressure, and she's not even "allowed" to admit it. Because as soon as she started saying 'I do get nervous', he cut her off, because to let her express her humanity would ruin our image of perfection.
I just hope the parents' guidance and the girl's ego herself are done right and she becomes better with time, not worse. I want to see this girl remain one of the best in the world in ten years.

When one is given a gift they can choose to use and perfect or ignore it. God gives EACH person a gift. MOST people don't know what it is and if they do they squander it. In Jackie's situation she found out her gift at a young age and is using it. She is remaining humble too. That is VERY rare in any preformer and for a child, it is virtually unheard of. How many kids do you know who are so publically selfless?

The nice part about Jackie is.. She will become what she wants to be no matter what anyone else says or influences her.. As much as I love her (I really do!!), I don't think her voice was suitable for 'Angel' song. Her voice was just too serious and dignified (typical opera voice) for that particular song. Try search for 'Olivia Archbold Audition' to see what I'm saying.
Obviously not her fault, the producer (david foster?) should have known better, IMHO.....
Don't get me wrong, with other opera songs (puccini, ave maria, or contemporary christmas songs), she shines, out of this world....
I think, in general people read more into this than what it merits. Jackie made a comment about God and in some ways about her belief and that was in response to a question. I think that was very well done and very appropriate and sincere. Nothing wrong with that and to me that's all it was.
I couldn't care less if she was a buddhist or a Muslim or Jewish...I'll still be buying her CDs and listening to her music. Religion is between her and her God...her music is for the masses !

She will never forget the commercial or the meaning of the words of the that song. I can't hear the song from that commercial, to this day and not see the animals. That way you will never sound like you are just singing the words, but you are singing of HOPE. That's what we love about your voice .... we feel the emotions of the songs.
She's beyond her years in so many ways, just the way she carries herself shows that. But all the while, she's still like a little girl. She's quite genuine. The art and culture she's being exposed to- wow, what a life. I find it hard to believe "god" would bestow that on any one human. I think she's just naturally gifted (keyword: natural). I'm 61 and have loved all kinds of music. I play the piano and sing. About 50 years ago I heard a voice that was incredible...Roy Orbison. I've been an Orbison fanatic ever since. Now....1 year ago I had that same feeling again when I heard/saw Jackie. She is an angel and a prodigy. She is totally incredible. I have 5th row seats to see her in concert in 2 months. I can't wait!! When I pass from this earth I'd like an angel in the form of Jackie to visit and sing to me. (in 30+ years!)

I can't help but notice how articulate she is in each interview. Very few ums and other placeholding words in any of them. She actually thinks about what she'll say before she says it. I think it's lovely that she believes her voice is a gift from God and is appropriately grateful, and it's fantastic that she consciously realizes that her parents are striving to balance her professional and personal lives. She seems very grounded, and in someone becoming famous at her age that's invaluable.

I hated Piers Morgan in this interview. Putting the girl on a pedestal. All that pressure, and she's not even "allowed" to admit it. Because as soon as she started saying 'I do get nervous', he cut her off, because to let her express her humanity would ruin our image of perfection.
I just hope the parents' guidance and the girl's ego herself are done right and she becomes better with time, not worse. I want to see this girl remain one of the best in the world in ten years.

When one is given a gift they can choose to use and perfect or ignore it. God gives EACH person a gift. MOST people don't know what it is and if they do they squander it. In Jackie's situation she found out her gift at a young age and is using it. She is remaining humble too. That is VERY rare in any preformer and for a child, it is virtually unheard of. How many kids do you know who are so publically selfless?

As much as I love her (I really do!!), I don't think her voice was suitable for 'Angel' song. Her voice was just too serious and dignified (typical opera voice) for that particular song. Try search for 'Olivia Archbold Audition' to see what I'm saying.
Obviously not her fault, the producer (david foster?) should have known better, IMHO.....
Don't get me wrong, with other opera songs (puccini, ave maria, or contemporary christmas songs), she shines, out of this world....

I think, in general people read more into this than what it merits. Jackie made a comment about God and in some ways about her belief and that was in response to a question. I think that was very well done and very appropriate and sincere. Nothing wrong with that and to me that's all it was.
I couldn't care less if she was a buddhist or a Muslim or Jewish...I'll still be buying her CDs and listening to her music. Religion is between her and her God...her music is for the masses !

Sung Bong Choi couldn't hold a battery powered flashlight, let alone a candle next to Jackie. He had a real good sob story but his voice and diction needs training. Some day he will be great. Andrea Bocelli, Sarah Brightman and Paul Potts have been singing and practising for over 25 plus years. Jackie should watch the commercial that the media married with the song Angel. It is a commercial about abused animals and asking people to adopt. She will never forget the commercial or the meaning of the words of the that song. I can't hear the song from that commercial, to this day and not see the animals. That way you will never sound like you are just singing the words, but you are singing of HOPE. That's what we love about your voice .... we feel the emotions of the songs.

She's beyond her years in so many ways, just the way she carries herself shows that. But all the while, she's still like a little girl. She's quite genuine. The art and culture she's being exposed to- wow, what a life. I find it hard to believe "god" would bestow that on any one human. I think she's just naturally gifted (keyword: natural). I'm 61 and have loved all kinds of music. I play the piano and sing. About 50 years ago I heard a voice that was incredible...Roy Orbison. I've been an Orbison fanatic ever since. Now....1 year ago I had that same feeling again when I heard/saw Jackie. She is an angel and a prodigy. She is totally incredible. I have 5th row seats to see her in concert in 2 months. I can't wait!! When I pass from this earth I'd like an angel in the form of Jackie to visit and sing to me. (in 30+ years!)
