You wrote to me once that even these now hair, they are still developing alopecia. Doe that mean the will suffer hair loss once again. If yes, then the transplant procedure is not worth going through.
@Trinder3467 No, the transplanted follicles don't have androgenetic receptors (AR) so they will no not be affected by androgens and will not fall down. The natives are those who can be affected.
@injertocapilar so, would you recommend Propecia as a cure for Androgenic Alopecia? Does it really cause erection problems in a long term? As for the transplants, when you brush the hair down it wants to stay up all the time. Do you have a video of a patient where he can brush the hair down and has a short hair cut?
Why do all the transplanted guys miss the temple hair? I'm actually asking. Every video, shows great hair and NO temple hair. Isn't that the whole reason why they get the hair treatment for?
@Trinder3467 We haven't enough donor site to repair everything we want. The size of the forehead does not make you bald. But the lack of hair on the top it will. Therefore each individual surgery is planned not only seeing the current needs but imagining how will be the patient in 20 years with a constantly evolving alopecia.
@Djs3634 The good election of the candidates in HT will take to good results. Of course we can't reach the same result in all the patients, there are many variables.
@dstein111 first, you must stabilize your alopecia with medical treatment. After that, you must have a good evaluation to see if you are a good candidate. The problem with the thinning hair is the post op shock loss or telogen efluvium of the native hair.
To me, though yes all of these are incredible results, it's still not good enough. I would not be satisfied unless the original juvenile hairline is restored. The main reason this is often impossible is due to the donor hair limit.
Hopefully hair cloning will show up within the next 10 years to solve that annoying donor limit problem.
Reconsider it carefully. Hair taken from the donor area has a life span also. At some point, the donated hair follicle will die. Not to mention the donor area being left much thinner (sides and back of head). I've had it done and it doesn't last. I have a replacement that looks 100% better than these photos and no surgery.
How much grafts ...3000 ?. I had the same norwood scale and i had 3000 grafts. Now i go back for once more 3500 grafts. 1 hairtransplantation are never enough for very well result
Seeing as this guy is probably only 20 odd, and because of that will probably have no hair by the time hes 40, wouldn't it be common sense to have a hair transplant all over your head and not just where you've lost it.
Maybe its just me but in 20 years when he would've lost most of his hair, isn't he just gonna have hair on his hairline and no hair everywhere that he didn't have a transplant.....just a thought seeing as I think I might start to lose mine in 2 years time and might consider this.
20 years from now they'll for sure have hair multiplication so it wont matter if his donor supply is used up. I'm going to do this in the summer to fix my temples, I want my straight hairline I had when I was 16
I just don't see how having a hair transplant just on your hairline at 20-30 YO is gonna stop you going bald everywhere else at 40-50 YO, because if you lose it young its usually all gone by mid-life, I was simply looking at it logically.
Hope its not the case, my Mum's dad still has100% hair at 91 but has always had a mature/high hairline, and I have hair exactly like him. Its just my hairline seems to go back a little further so I worry I still might take after my Dad who was balding at 19.
Being completely bald doesn't exist in my family though, every man on my mom's side of the family, (let me tell you, its huge, 8 brothers and 5 sisters) has a full head of hair in their 40's 50's and 60's, most men on my dad's side has a decent mane and my dad's had the most thinnning, but even he never went completely chrome dome, he's 55 right now and pretty thin, but not completely gone, so I dont think I'll ever have that problem, just a gradual, slow thinning all over my head and hairline
Yea my family goes from one extreme to the other. My Grandad is Polish so high hairlines is common, but his grandad on his mum's side was apparently American-Indian and they all have great hair.
Every guy on my mum's side (6 uncles, 4 great-uncles) has a full head of hair, my grandad's still sporting a ponytail in his early 90's, but every guy on my dad's, which is even more men, went bald apart from one really early.
Apparently you have more chance genetically to take after the mum's side.
Same here man, My mom has alot of indian blood, her grandmother was full blooded indian, and naturally with indians, you have the very thick/dark head of hair.. but damn my european blood! lol
Theres probably so many other factors to MPB. I've always thought race was a factor to some extent. White people seem to go bald the most while I've yet to see a bald Native-American or Samoan. I did feel quite confident about my hair situation, my hair's nothing like my dad's and is totally like my Grandad's and how many 91 yr olds are lucky enough to have at least 90% hair, and have a ponytail. Mine seems to go back slightly further but Im told its just my paranoia which is typical.
Yeah, my granddad on my father's side turns 87 in 10 days and still has all of his hair except for a slightly receded hairline and its pretty much black with speckles of gray here and there, I'm hopin I take after him mostly, but I figure hair multiplication is just around the corner so I figure why not pack out the frontal hairline and make it super thick and low while I'm young so I can enjoy it, plan on doing that this summer, you thinking about gettin this done?
Despite I questioned it a few comments up, its amazing what they can do so maybe.
Im paranoid theres no doubt, so even though I have Indian blood (barely) on my mum's side and have hair that couldnt be more like my mum and grandad's and less like my dad's, AND apparently have more chance of taking after that side genetically....I still worry to no end.
I'm thankful I have a mature hairline for obvious reasons but it makes it harder to spot a receding hairline. It goes back a tiny bit further.
@Hitmanfan91 I heard hair transplants are suppose to stop balding if you get enough grafts. I don't know if this is true or not. Someone please clarify.
Why most of the guys dont put hair All over the front of the head meaning the Full hair on thr frontal area like when you are 20 years old you know the limit of the hair is a little above the eyebrows . I have seen some do that but most men dont do that . Maybe it is the cost tha maximizes? i dont get it .
I agree. Even if I ran out of donor hairs, I would rather have my youthful hairline back, and have a bald spot in the back of my head, than to have that old mans hair line. I want my beautiful bangs back the way they were when I was 18.
I´m watching thousands of videos about hair transplants. There are thousands of clinics, doctors, offers, videos, pictures, web sites, testimonials, suggestions, comments, etc. How should I react to all this? I went to a clinic, they told not to think about a hair transplant yet. But, what am I supossed to when the time arrives? TOO MUCH INFORMATION!
