  • "You can fake an orgasm, but you can't fake a laugh" Bob Dylan lol He always speak truth to the masses.

  • I miss his radio show on XM radio...

  • doctor robert!

  • Notice how Paulreallyu doest speak of any axtual nteractions with Dylan..he AVOIDS the part where Bob turned us onto Drugs...and George Harrisonis the only one being 100% accurate as usual "he wasn;t our idol..but we did listen to his record over and over". you dont have to idolize to enjoy the music..RIP george. Ringo was too high to remember it all lol

  • 'Rocky Raccoon' is an obvious Dylan imitation: 'Her name was McGill, and she called herself Lill but everyone knew her as Nancy.' Even Bob had to have laughed at that. Yeah, they all influenced each other. And aren't the rest of us lucky.

  • Gotta love Ringo like a child just simply saying what really happened when George and Paul are trying to go around it.

  • Ringo; "I laughed and I laughed"

    God I love Ringo.

  • There's some twit on the Tomorrow Never Knows clip who thinks Dylan had no influence on the Beatles. How clueless can you get?

  • @RollingOrmond Indeed what an idiot. Dylan had a massive influence on Rubber Soul, as that is when the Beatles really started branching out away from those early love songs. I am in no way comparing Bob Dylan and The Beatles though. Both are incredible and both wrote some of the greatest music ever. I hate when people compare legends.

  • reading comments ruin any video, from now on i am disabling them

  • @Jazzawray theres 4 of them and only one of bob and even then it depends on what youre looking for

  • Norwegian Wood is a song that Bob Dylan felt that Lennon steal his writing style for this song, So Bob wrote 4th around for response.

  • @dahliafinal Well I would contend that anyone that thinks Norwegian Wood sounds like Bob Dylan is fucking delusional.

  • @85geoffm You got that right!

  • @85geoffm

Really? That's arguably the MOST Dylan song the Beatles ever wrote.. if you take away the sitar and the harmony part, you can almost hear Dylan singing it. You really have to listen to the phrasing, and the lyrics, which are VERY much like Dylan

And that's why Dylan wrote 4th Time Around, and played it for John personally; Dylan was taking a little stab at John, and John knew it..

  • @85geoffm I would contend that anyone that doesn't hear Dylan in Norwegian Wood is FUCKING deaf

  • @fishtruckthatloads Dylan wrote 4th time around after Norwegian Wood.

  • @azzaboi93 I know dude. Im not saying that Norwegian Wood sounds like 4th time around but its Dylanesque writing and it shows the influence Dylan had on John. Not taking anything away from the great song though.

  • @azzaboi93 Mate 4th time around was written before :)

  • @cheerslloret Dunno about that one mate.

  • @azzaboi93 Dylan wrote 4th tme around months before norwigan wood. he talked bout playing it in his hotel room in new york for lennon and harrison. the beatles were heavily influenced by bob dylan.

  • @MrPernell27 Bob always performed songs in concert way before they came out on an album too. Tambourine man was played live in 1964 but not released until 1965 on the album.

  • @azzaboi93 FALSE

  • @fishtruckthatloads they stole it from 4th time around!!!!

  • @85geoffm So you never listen to 4th time around. Try.

  • If you guys are real Bob Dylan fan, you should know that he himself never called himself as a folk or protest singer. The reason that he came out as folk singer at the beginning of his career is because he love Woodie Guthrie at that time and want to sing and make music like him. Actually Dylan musical root is influenced by buddy holly chuck berry and Elvis presley, He wanted to rock and roll so he gone electric. and you should know that John Lennon admired Bob Dylan as his song writing idol

  • What film is this from?

  • I love that clip of Bob singing Hard Rain..=) What is that twat Kanye west doing beside me.?

  • George: We met him and we just talked

Ringo: I GOT HIGH AS HELL MAN, BOB'S THE BEST

Paul: Yeah, I guess you could say he *influenced* us

  • @1961beethoven well.., there was hitler, but look what happened to him. (kinda proves your point i guess)

  • @ChemicalMikeUK I don't that was what kicked him out of showbiz lol.

  • Without Bob Dylan Sgt. Pepper Lonely Hearts Club and Magical Mystery Tour will never be Born.

  • @nightmuffin937 what a load of bollocks your talking

  • ringo rules

  • GEORGE IS MY BEATLE FACTS GO TO GUY

  • He wrote and recorded history's music through others eyes, sufferings, through his own eyes, ears ,talent and genius of view with words . (until wiggle wiggle wiggle) Still love and adore him. Controversy always surrounds a "Great"

  • What are those recordings of a hard rain gonna a fall and time they are a changin from ?

  • @thepaperroute 1964 Canadian TV show "Quest"

  • Finally the Beatles got something right! lol ; )

  • @AlbinoGhandi what the fuck r u talking about dumbass?? dylan is a legend, watch the documentary "no direction home" he doesnt like being around the media or being interviewed.

  • @AlbinoGhandi

He is widely regarded as one of the great geniuses in music. You are not.

  • @Lee86Cr

So what? He's still an idiot.

  • @endstation2

    Sure sure.

  • Its plainly stupid to berate Hendrix or Dylan for being influenced by each other. Good artists influence each other. Dylan was influenced by zillion other artists. Please read his Chronicles. He states thousand other influences.

Dylan will be most important artist ever. And hendrix invented rock, proper rock with all its derivatives.(ya ya rock around the clock).

So, they have their own space in history.

  • bob dylan is the only person the beatles refuse to contend with

  • Absolutely they were the biggest thing at that time and for a long time thereafter. But I didn't like them no matter how popular they were. Their mass appeal just didn't appeal to me, that's all I'm saying. I never liked them and never will. Mine is just one man's opinion. Give me Dylan or even Donovan anyday over the Beatles. Their music was thought provoking while the Beatles was thought numbing. It's a wonderful world where there is something for everyone, don't ya think?

  • @hollowpoint16

thats a very mature statement, and true, I applaud you, I love the beatles, but Bob is my music god, none shall surpass

  • Dylan is the most covered artist in history, hands down best song writer of all time, its a shame he lost his voice in the mid - late 70's

  • @xKillZone99

Dylan was never a vocal artist, that just isnt the type of artist he is. he is a thought provoking poet, he brings you to awe with his words of truth and thought, and how he feels his powerful music, how he lets it channel through, no vocal artist can match that

  • Regardless of who likes what, I'll just conclude by saying to all of you: "I love you, ya ya ya! Smoke a bowl for me.

  • bob's important to music for sure, but the beatles started entirely new things. more influential. great artists to both of em!

  • I was on a grass hill the first time I smoked weed. I just lay on my back staring up at the heavens without any expression on my face.

  • Dear JL Molinareyes, I am sure you mean well but the Beatles music NEVER appealed to me. I even was alive to see their debut on the Ed Sullivan show and they bored me then. I don't know what it is....I think it was that constant 1/2/3 beat over and over.....she loves you ya ya ya, ad nauseum that I hated. They played in the same score forever. But then in their defense, there isn't alot of music I really like because unless I am dancing to it the music has to have a meaning. So, no offense.

  • Always loved Dylan and always hated the Beatles music...still do. They were not that talented. They just arrived on the scene at the right time. Maybe another pact with the Devil, who knows. In fact when I was a kid someone gave me autographed Beatles dolls which I threw away a few years later. I know alot of other people who didn't like them either so don't get all upet if you are a Beatles fan. Dylan was way more talented than any ot them.

  • @hollowpoint16 MUSIC IS EMOTION DUDE, NOT JUST INTELLECT, ITS FINE DYLAN IS A GENIUS BUT, THAT S NO REASON FOR HATE BEALTES ANOTHER GENIUS, HOM MANY DYLAN SONGS ARE SHIT MAN,? HOW MANY BEATLES SONG S ARE SHIT? HAHAH, PEACE BROTHER.

  • @hollowpoint16 I love them both, I grew up with the Beatles, and thus was completely engrossed in them by the time I came across Bob Dylan about two years ago (I'm not that old). That being said, I don't really agree that they came on the scene at the "right time". They WERE the scene. It was 1963 and they were the biggest thing in the world. By 1966, they were already one of the greatest around ever and in '67, at 27 years old they made possibly the greatest record of all time. Love them both.

  • @hollowpoint16 "They played in the same score forever."

I'm not arrogant enough to think that I can change one respectable man's mind. But perhaps you should listen the Beatles after they had decided to quit being the mainstream monster you have seen in Ed Sullivan's show.

It was some magic music made with the brain -as the brain was talking through psychedelics-, and it shows a force that contrasts with Dylan's simplicity, but shows you the powerful creativity the four Beatles had together.

  • @hollowpoint16 I agree for the most part and believe that you can't even compare Beatles' music to Bob Dylan's, but man, it's still The Beatles. They're brilliant

  • i would love to share a joint with bob dylan

  • The first time I listened to Hard Rain, I really, wept. It's just so beutiful :)

  • Bob Dylan beats The Beatles every single time for me.

  • "he was our idol, he was our hero.....not an idol but we listened to his record"

  • @ThanksDoctorThoctor you can't put 3 different people's responses into one quote

  • Freewheelin' was an extreme turn from anything that had come before. For its time, the greatest album ever made.

  • @bailinnumberguy

    I second that.

  • Paul's ego.

  • this means bob dylan is better than the beatles

  • @Unknown6662012 Not quite.

  • To end the "who's better?" argument:

They both affected each other. Dylan made the Beatles go folk, and the Beatles made Dylan go electric.

I'd give The Beatles 10/10 for melody and 7/10 for lyrics. I'd give Dylan 10/10 for lyrics and 7/10 for melody. Folk singers obviously have more emphasis on lyrics, otherwise what would be their point?

At the end of the day they clearly respected each other immensely, and only Elvis has had a cultural impact comparable to these two, so why bicker?

  • @alwayswinit4real id say that Led Zeppelin's impact was comparible

  • @alwayswinit4real i definitely agree with you about the Beatles being better melody writers and Dylan being a better lyricist/poet. and they influenced each other respectively, specially Lennon id say, in his lyrics.

  • @alwayswinit4real Exactly, the Beatles were musician/songwriters, and Dylan was a poet

  • @alwayswinit4real he wasn't a "folk singer", I guess that is his label from the media. But he would never call himself that.

  • @Killerafroman He most certainly was a folk singer.

  • @alwayswinit4real ok if that's the way you are going to be, i call you ignorant. Now does that mean you are ignorant because i say you are? He was a poet/ musician.

  • @Killerafroman Hahaha the "way I'm going to be"? Not only was Dylan a folk singer, he was the most preeminent folk singer of the twentieth century. His name is synonymous with the genre of folk. His main influence and hero was Woodie Guthrie, who was of course -- you guessed it -- a FOLK SINGER.

Now you can call him a "poet/musician" all you like (his lyrics were quite poetic, and he did play music), but to say that he wasn't a folk singer is just completely wrong.

  • @alwayswinit4real True folk music, by definition, is music without a copyright that has been passed down through the generations. Dylan only sang folk music in his first two albums, Bob Dylan and Freewheelin'. The "preeminent folk singer of the twentieth century", if one had to name an individual, was Guthrie, who recorded hundreds of folk songs over his career besides the songs he wrote himself....

  • @agingstoner Well, yeah, if you want to be pedantic about it. Woodie was "more folk" than Dylan, but didn't receive anywhere near the acclaim. That's why I omitted him from consideration.

You're also half-right about Dylan's first two albums. They were definitely the "most folk", but even after those two, he still retained a large element of folk in his music. He experimented with many genres as we all know. But people will still think of him as a folk singer when all is said and done.

  • @alwayswinit4real er, you silly silly person. He was many things over many years. Ever heard that he went Electric in 1966? You might want to wise up a little on a cultural icon.

  • @THthefirst You're not only rude, but you're completely ignorant.

Firstly, he went electric in 1965. Secondly, if you knew anything about him, you'd know that all of the albums he made after 1965 (electric) were still predominantly folk albums--only now he was experimenting with folk-rock.

You might want to wise up a little yourself, you complete and utter cretin.

  • @alwayswinit4real no one made Bob do anything. Bob was in a rock band when he was in high school. He already loved and played rock before he "went electric." But either way,Elvis,Bob,Beatles is it. They are the greatest of all time.

  • @muclesmarinara YES I AGREE....ELVIS,.BEATLES AND THEN BOB,, I WOULD THROW IN LED ZEPPLIN in my opinion

  • @alwayswinit4real well i don't no about that, see the way i see things is that Bob Dylan and the Beatles both get a 10/10 for lyrics and melody. Mainly because they do different kinds of music. the Beatles did alot of the pop/rock kind of deal, whilst Dylan did a more folk rock/bluesy thing. The Beatles didn't need to have really deep lyrics because they were a different music genre the same goes with Dylan just flip-flopped. Both groups are geniuses in their own genre of music. :)

  • whilst Dylan was writing complex, lyircally astounding and image-filled revolutionary words, in his early 20s, the beatles were writing "I wanna hold your hand" and "she loves you" - great, nice, catchy melodies but hardly as intelligent or in the same league as Dylan really, and they (esp Lennon) knew that, which is why they tried to change.

  • From which movie is this?

  • @Reint25 The Beatles Anthology

  • look at George :20 living large like ROCKSTAR nice he probably puts his feet up a stol put his hands behind him and says uhh this is life

  • Dylan is a genius

  • I could have used this in my 10 page argumentative essay for college english comp II regarding bob dylan being the most social impact full musician of the 20th century. Got an A, but could have used it.

  • Bob Dylan knows what he's doing

  • "...And i laughed, and I laughed, and I laughed..."

  • @Projectplayer22 Hell yeah!

  • i dont have any idols

but someone i liek is bob dylan, because i think he is clever.. for such a young man...

    and i like his style

  • @tommoodymusic A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall is the song at .54 seconds.

  • the greatest band of all time, and the single greatest artist of all time! :)

  • @tommoodymusic It's A Hard Rain A-Gonna Fall. ;D

  • @tommoodymusic HARD RAIN it a very great song

  • 1:52 "we met him ,itS hard really to say he just came up to our hotel room basicly and sat aroud and 'talked'" yeah right ..talked and there as no one getting high.lol

BOB DYLAN THE BEST THING THERE EVER IS. I LOVE HIM

  • Paul: He was our idol

    Ringo: Bob was our hero

    George: ... not an idol

    lol you gotta love George:-)

  • @ZZqezza that's exactly why George & Bob got to be close friends. His Bobness doesn't deal with the idol ting well.

  • Can't make comparisons really,Bob was Dylan the Beatles were a band both were brilliant let's leave it at that

  • The Beatles were NEVER a cheesy boy band. They were, and will always be, the best 'pop' songwriters, the best harmonisers, and the best band in the universe. Comparing the Beatles and Dylan is like comparing a dog with a cat - completely unnecessary and irrelevant. They're ALL amazing musicians who have made this world a FAR better place. Thank you, Dylan and the Beatles, for lighting up my life!

  • "I laughed and I laughed and I laughed" XD

  • Bob Dylan - The man who changed the band who changed music history for ever. :)

  • Lets face it:

Before he met Jesus, Dylan was the best songwriter ever

  • Comment removed

  • Lets face it:

    Before Dylan the Beatles were a cheesy boyband;

After meeting him they became one of the greatest bands ever.

  • @KCRyder Dude before the Beatles met Dylan they were basically a beatnik rock n roll band in Hamburg so you can barely say they were a "cheesy boy band".

  • @stefs619 first of all: i can say whatever i want! second: yeah they were a boyband, they were their generation´s tokio hotel........dude

  • I can still remember when Justin Bieber introduced chocolate milk to the Jonas Brothers....heavy times man....

  • @JustineLaLoba lol man that chocolate milk is some hard stuff so rich in calcium but you gota watch out for that sugar in the chocolate syrup don't want to get to hyper

  • @JustineLaLoba hahahaha

  • @JustineLaLoba --hahahaha, genious!

  • @JustineLaLoba sensacional o teu comentário!!!!

  • "bob was an idol"

    "well not an idol"

  • I love, love the Beatles...but Dylan is the closest thing to a musical god that I can think of. Yeah, of course Chuck Berry invented rock and roll...but what we all today think of as rock, with cerebral lyrics, talking about things, deep introspection, all that...Dylan flat-out invented that with "Like A Rolling Stone", the first hit pop song not about girls or cars. Dylan rules. There will never be another.

  • People may sell more records people may sing better people may play the guitar better. But NOBODY I mean NOBODY is as more important to music as Bob Dylan.

  • @evxdaddy thats dumb

  • @evxdaddy I'd replace music with society, but for the most part I agree.

  • @evxdaddy you crazy? it was Beatlemania, not Dylanmania. Bob was importent, but the Stones, Jimi', and The Beatles of coruse were way more importent.

  • @vmanbeatles

Its because dylan wasnt a sellout, he didnt always do what the public expected of him, he created from his own mind, and Jimi? he copied dylan, he openly admitted it, he may be a brilliant guitarist, but Dylan made him look trivial. Stones made you crazy with what they wrote, Beatles numbed your imagination to what they wanted, Dylan made you think

  • @poeticreject to me their all good so it dont really matter "whos the best" they all are very importent

  • @poeticreject Jimi Hendrix made completely different music to Dylan. To say he copied him is nonsense. There music sounds nothing alike. A clear example of that being Hendrix version of all along the watch tower. People really need to stop arguing about who was better. They all had there strengths, Beatles song writing, Hendrix guitar playing, dylan lyrics etc. etc. There all great. Who you believe is better simply comes down to your personal taste which im afraid isn't a fact.

  • @Ducksexbody

Hendrix has the best cover of all along the watchtower, it took the feel from the song, but it still sounded great, that is trivial and not what I was talking about, Hendrix openly admitted that Dylan was his main inspiration, he copied him in his own writing and even his signature hair was copied from dylan, Hendrix became his own, but dylan gave him the start. you started this by saying dylan wasnt as great as the beatles and hendrix, when he is at the very top

  • @poeticreject Are you blind? I didn't start saying Dylan wasn't as good as them I stared with Hendrix made completely different music to Dylan there is no comparison in the style and sound of there music so how could Hendrix have copied Dylan?. Also there is huge difference between inspiration and copying. You should look it up. To also suggest Hendrix a black man copied his afro from Dylan is the funniest stuff I've ever read. Black men have had afros since before Dylan was alive.

  • @Ducksexbody

hendrix didnt have an afro, he had a curl, look it up, and he copied dylan in the beginning, when he started the only difference was the bloody electric guitar, now he did become his own, but the beginning was all dylan. he copied him, he admitted it, its obvious, look up his early works, its nothing but dylan with an incredible sounding electric guitar in the background, hendrix was great, dylan is greater, hendrix copied dylan, its fact

  • In the beginning? Are You Experienced sounds nothing like anything Dylan has ever done. He sure didn't sound like Dylan when he was playing with little Richard before that! ''Dylan with an electric guitar'' Are you aware Dylan has recorded many albums with electric guitars and still there is no resemble musically between there albums. Once again look up the difference between inspiration and copied. You are clueless. They sound nothing alike and never did!

  • @Ducksexbody

yes I'm aware dylan went electric, look up hendrix. look up his interviews about dylan. he outright copied him! and yes hendrix had many a dylan flair with the jimi hendrix experience, purple haze he admitted was lyrically taken from many of dylans works, and many others were too. now that is on the line of inspiration, but it doesnt erase the fact that he copied dylan, it is true as bloody hell. he copied, look it up

  • @poeticreject You are one stupid fucker. List off the Dylan works where purple haze copied the lyrics from? Give me the links to this imagery interviews in your head where Hendrix stated he copied bob Dylan? There music sounds nothing alike. It's clear you have no knowledge of Hendrix and a belief every one copied Bob Dylan.

  • @Ducksexbody

it is documented, just type into google Hendrix talks about dylan. and I do not think everyone copied dylan, many were inspired by him. Hendrix wasnt dylan, but in the beginning he wanted to be. he eventually became his own and became on the best artists in history, but he wouldnt have if not for dylan

  • @Ducksexbody Calm down. I think that anyone could see that Hendrix like The Beatles got some influence from Dylan, and there's nothing wrong with that. Hendrix did do a version of "All Along the Watchtower" so you know he was sampling Dylan. No one got upset about this then and it is silly to get upset about it now.

  • @poeticreject Dylan copied Woody Guthrie. It doesn't matter, all of them are influenced by those before them and some around them. That' s what a trend is all about.

  • @deaddoc

didnt copy, liked, held influence, but Dylan didnt copy Guthrie. I agree that Woddy was a definite influence in his early folk writings, but when Dylan went prophet, he went all Dylan and nobody else

  • @Ducksexbody It's not the sound, it's the lyrics and the mysterious, oblique way of putting things, word play and imaging psychedelia is where Hendrix and many others were inspired by Dylan, who did it first.

  • there is one thing i don't like about bob dylan and that is his singing sorry just my opinion

  • @rockman1066 fuck off

  • @sluxie8 calm down man

  • @rockman1066 His voice is beautiful

  • @robertplantisgod1234 it is my opinion ok

  • It's hilarious how Paul and Ringo are like, "He was our idol", and then they cut to George who says, "Nah, he wasn't really..." lol

  • @iDraw3G Then he goes on to say "we played it constantly, over and over again..." I think George was trying to be funny lol.

  • Bob Dylan is brilliant. The Rolling Stones are incredible. Elvis was the first rock sex symbol and in many ways Chuck Berry was the "father" of rock but The Beatles were 1,000 times bigger than all of them put together. You'd have had to have been between the ages of 10-30 from 1963-1969 to understand what I'm saying. When The Beatles broke up in 1969......if they'd ever decided to get back together. They could have gotten 150 million dollars for one concert. Never will there be another Beatles.

  • Beatles + Bob = all the music a human being ever needs to know or listen to.

  • they show dylan in his early carreer, when he met the beatles he was already in his "black glasses" and dandy style, wasn't he? more likely to bring pot to the beatles

  • Beatles > Bob

  • Bob > Beatles

  • he was our idol

    not our idol

    lol

  • and i laughed and i laughed and i laughed hahah ringo

  • Dylan's like a new born babe here--fresh and innocent and naturally wise.

  • Beautiful people

  • @emoboy721 Just like he says: A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall. It's on his second album: The Freewheeling
