Was there when it all started.....Felix, Eddie, Dino and Gene.....Hey FEEEE, regards to sister Frannie, and much love to you and your family......Nancy, from the "REASONS" xoxoxoxo
My wife and I and our friends Rich and Cathy heard Felix's Rascals last night in Akron, Ohio - they were incredible!!! Do yourself a favor and be sure to catch them if they come anywhere near where you live. You won't regret it!
Felix Cavaliere is the "King of New York Rock." May you reign forever, one of your loyal subjects. Saw you in Ridgefield CT a month ago with my husband, and it took me back to the Brooklyn Fox shows of the King of NY Deejays, Murray the K, may he rest in peace. I was sweet sixteen, playing hooky and saving my lunch money, all over again
Saw him a few weeks ago. It was like stepping back in time. Last time I saw the Rascals was about 1968 in New York. Voice the same. Organ better. Felix is a master musician. That so-called "blue-eyed soul" is an insult to him, Bill Medley, Eric Burton and anyone else not African American. Johnny Mathis does not have soul. Africans don't have soul. "Soul" is not racial. Besides, Felix has "brown" eyes. Soul is a mastery of our unique American music. You will hear it in our jazz, blues, big-band
Going to see him in a couple days in Dowagiac, MI. Our band use to cover a lot of the Rascal's songs. This is going to be great and I'm going with a bunch of good friends who will make the concert even better. Groovin'
Felix Cavaliere sounds just like he did back int he 1960s--almost eerily so. And he has aged quite nicely, thank you. I think he's 64 in this video.
He has always been hot though. Search for Felix Cavaliere and John Sebastian. He was in his 40s at the time and he looked just as good as when he was in his 20s.
OH MY MY MY, Felix Cavalier, what can i say? You still got it man, please come to ohio and pergorm, Oh wait! you are coming to cleveland for the moon dog carnation sponsered by WMJI>>>> see you there!
About 23 years ago I saw 3 of the 4 original Rascals, it was one of the best shows I've ever seen and I used to work in the business and worked with dozens of groups from the 50s and 60s. The Rascals blew me away. I think the only original member that was missing was Eddie.
felix! if anything you sound better! HOWEVER, how come no "peaceful world"? that album may not be top 10, but i considered it ahead of it's time, an opus, if you please. an extended "groovin' on a sunday afternoon"! don't be stingy, post it, share some. thanks.
Such great music hes given us.ah for those days again......something you cant buy you had to live in those days..man I was blessed to have enjoyed them....THANKS guys......
I love this stuff...................sooooo nice. I've always admired this sounds........to me, I hear psychedelic 60's mixed AND the Motown sound intertwined. So, so great. Thank you for this outstanding post!!! And just listen to that Hammond B-3 organ blazing through....................................WOW!!!!
Last week I taped The Rascals from a PBS special from The Ed Sullivan Show. I have played it over and over again. I'm not what I was back in the 60's, so no one would hold it against The Rascals if they had slowed down a bit, just give us that Good Lovin guys. We are all older and wiser. I just love watching the stage presence of the group.Great sounds. MAGIC!!!
OMG. I have missed rock music this great for so long. I feel like I've been transported back to the 60's. Felix was and still is one of the best ever.
In 1964, I thought Felix Cavaliere was the hottest freakin guy a on the face of the earth. Today, I know that he is, even more so!!!
That soulful voice still evokes the passion of one of the most mind-blowing era's that I'm proud to have lived and be a part of!..and the voice and lyrics of Felix is able to brillantly put a lifetime of those emotions and still embrace others!
wow, I got chills. y'all know what I mean. just can't think what it would've been like to be 14 and not have the Rascals to listen to. Thanks Felix et al.
Hey ,my dear friend is it true that you, Dino,Eddie and Gene will be touring next year, because that has always been my dream come true along with alots of other fans too, so let me know the truth. thank you for my happy dreams
Hello my friend, I know you made it through that bad storm in your town last week and thank God and I will always love you forever , you are a good friend.
Heavens to Murgatroid! Felix sounds & looks GREAT! If he was any cooler, he'd be frozen! Strictly from groovysville, daddy-o! THANKS a million times over for sharing this delightful footage with us...you've made my day & my week!!! :)
Hello, I would like to tell you that I love your performance on the cast of st.elswhere and with good lovin now I understand what things are about. And I seen Dino Danelli driving the police car and that bed ride down the freeway and also the lady with the stuff on her face and rollers in her hair.
The Rascals were bad ass in the 60s and Felix can still bring it. What an energy and soul he brought to the scene in the summer of 66 with Good Lovin`, one of the best way to spend 2 minutes of your time listening to New York`s finest...
I'm so excited - I plan to see them - with another favorite, Tommy James - at the Cannery in Las Vegas this Saturday!! I'm dancing in my chair right now!
What's not to love?!! You are sooo rockin kool daddy! LOL :-) Hope you're in town 8/29/09 -- lots of your friends gathering at the Limelight ~ come party!!!
I vote for Steve Jobs for our next President and Felix for Vice President......gives Mr. C more time to continue wooing our hearts and keeping the music alive!
If Felix Cavaliere is reading this, a major PAT ON THE BACK. I heard GROOVIN' first time in 1967 while driving around with my group of trainees in DRIVER'S TRAINING. The instructor had you on the radio. I loved that tune, and all the other Rascals tunes. Your organ, voice and arrangments and tunes are fantastic. They are now rock classics.
Hello Felix, I really love the duet with you and Diane M. I went out and bought it and I listen to it just about everyday , it is smooth . I let a couple of my friends hear it and they tried to walk out the door with it. and you should have seen me snapping on them, I told them to hit the road and don,t come back.
Felix how are you, I know you are fine because , you my friend , are my friend and forever as long as I live. I love you Felix because you are true and I see and feel it and that is all I can say from my heart thank you.
I wish Felix would come to the Superman town,I would be the first one in line and that is no joke. Im glad to have grew up with your music ,and it has been with me every sence . thank you.
Wakokid48 -- the cool thing was that we had so much great music back then. For real music lovers, we had Motown, we had the Philly sound, we had The Beatles and the Merseybeat. It was a really great time for us. The Rascals were outstanding and Felix's singing is still great to this day!
Oh my god I love this, it makes a sunday @ home haven' a beer and a roast on the stove just absolutely heaven,nuudles12!! you got DATT so right,Felix when ya comin' to the windy city?
Groovin and It's a Beautiful Morning are two of the great songs of all time.........that convey in music an emotion you can't deny..............if blood runs through your veins. These guys had two songs of that order...........the Beatles had five.
Felix you,re one of a kind and you have made me see parts of my life ,that has come out much better, because you my friend, has made alot of these young cats wish for younger days ,you are my hero.Thank you my long time friend.
Wow, wow, what can I say, where have you been all these years, Felix? One of the most soulful pop vocalists ever, still at your peak...keep on keepin' on, man!
Your right ! He has`nt lost a lick. I first saw them in a little pizza place in Lake Mahopac, NY.
I was 13 or 14 ,.great show and inspiration!!
The McCoys were next week,.,almost as intense ,but a notch or two down. I`ll be 57 ,this summer. I have a great guitarist friend ,playing with Dave Brigati, Joey Dee& Starlighters. Got to meet Felix ,.always very nice and a true gent,,THX for posting.
Felix how are you .I must say that you have really show me that a person can use the gift that God has givin us for the better, And I want to thank you my friend.
Has this guy got soul or what? I remember The Rascals being one of the few white acts played on black radio in America. Felix is ultra-cool... everybody respects him. Grovin knocked everybody out the summer it came out... all over N.Y., whites, latinos and blacks all loved this great song. Great writer and visionary. Bravo Felix !!
Felix my friend, I really love the way you song apples, peaches, pumpkin , pie. Do you have that on a CD because I will be looking for it.I,ll 57 in a few months and will be partying the night away with all of your music playing and a liter of crown and a case of bud light to boot.thank you my friend for all of the memories and love that you and your music has brought me. And I will keep you in my dreams and prayers. Thank you .
Felix you got it going on, And you have three beautyful daughters. And I know they love your music too. I wany to thank you for helping me in my ways in life that has carried me a long way in life you are a wonderful friend to me , thank you for the everything.I will keep you in my thoughts and dreams .thank you my friend.
Thank You Felix for that sexy soulful voice of yours. Keep up the wonderful work that you for others around you, I, of all people do respect you and your music from teen years until I grow old and can,t hear anymore. Thank You for everything.Your Friend.
Felix ,your my soul brother and Iam your soul sister so keep up the good work that your , thank you for the faith and blessing you have brought in to my life,I will never forget my friend from way back in the day.thank you.
Felix I have always been your fan for so long it's like, I have know you all my life, and I have ,and what a great feeling ,but I can't forget The Rascals .I love you all .From your fan of all time
A friend and I saw Felix, in 1987, at the Palomino, a small club in North Hollywood, CA. He played every Rascals hit, including "Come on Up". At the end of the show mt friend and i went up and talked to him. The place was empty by then, but I was shocked at how humble and friendly he was. I always remember that when I hear any Rascals song.
first time i've seen any recent video's of the rascals ... sound magnificent ... sounds the same as 40 years ago ... be proud, felix ... keeping up with our nastalgia!!
Felix has never lost that soul voise of his and I will always love him for helping me to pin point the right direction in my life and i figure i,am on the right track, this is wonderful to see my generation band still kicking it. thank you for such lovely and magic that this has came into my life.
i love this video /felix still has that wounderful voise. and again i love all of the rascals, their music pep,s me up every morning and puts a great feeling in my soul , thanks for this most lovey music ,noodles 12
I just saw Felix in Cleveland (Moondog Concert) with 4 other bands... He was the BEST..He got everyone out of their seats!!INCREDIBLE!!!His music is timeless... ALWAYS PUTS YOU IN A HAPPY MOOD!! Thank you Felix!
I'd like to thank Felix & the crew for coming about West to Washington State. I'm going to do like one of the songs you performed and "Knock on Wood" that you'all come back again. Thanks for a great show. Steve
FELIX IS THE GREATEST...EVEN WITH A VERY SMALL VENUE IN MT TABOR NEW JERSEY...HE ROCKED US AND SIGNED PICTURES (2.00 that's right 2.00 for an 8x10) LIKE A REAL GENTLEMAN!
Yes, I agree. I saw him and this group in Altamonte Springs, Fla. about 5-6 years ago. He signed every single one of my Rascals albums for no charge. I asked him if he was still in touch with the other 3, and he said that unfortunately, legally he was. I mentioned that Eddie was the first to leave the group, and he verified that saying he was also still a little messed up. That's all such a shame, but it is great to see that they to keep those that appreciate their music entertained.
I saw Gene and Dino's version of the "Rascals" several years ago in NY State...they were really good too....Gene and Dino absolute gentleman...talked before the show just like we knew each other forever. Too bad Gene, Dino, and Felix couldn't get together! Forget Eddie...he's done...just look at the Hall Of Fame show...BUT David Brigati (the 5th Rascal) is still around!
i'll take the old original rascals over a stage band anyday. Felix has been dissing Gene Cornish for years. Gene was a GREAT melodic guitar player when everyone else was macho distortion. the Rascals sound wouldn't be what it was without him...like Harrison's guitar and the Beatles... now we have imitators copying it almost exactly...these guys aren't the rascals and never will be.
Gene and Dino left the band to form Bulldog and Fotomaker. And I haven't heard anyone claiming that Felix's current band is the original Rascals. So I'm not sure what you're talking about. Are they supposed to stop working because the original group broke up?
Keep playing and rocking Felix. The band is really tight and plays the hit songs great. I first saw the Rascals in Jacksonville with Sonny and Cher in 1967. I last saw Felix in 2006. Thanks for the great music with all the heart and energy. Keep on Rocking
FYI Felix is the only original member here and the band is billed as "his" Rascals - apparently the differences amongst the original musicians have never been sorted out? A shame, really, with life so short..
Felix, Brother you're still soundin' great, I still dig bein' outside on a Sunday or any day for that matter and just "Groovin", if someone doesn't understand groovin' then they will probably never get it. Groove on Brother and thanks for all the cool songs you and the Rascals have given us, it sure gives me thoughts of better days in my life. "Dobbsy"
I saw the Rascals at Warsaw Indiana June 15, 2007 and they still sounded really good. They did most of their hits. Missed a few of my favorites - but they can't do all of them I guess... Was worth the trip to see them! And Central Park in Warsaw was super nice and clean!! Kudos to the city for bringing the Rascals to town and for the nice clean park!
I saw Felix with his group back in 05 in Frankfort Ky and must say that this is the real thing. This band is extremely tight and the vocals are just about as strong as could ever be. Would certainly pay to see them again.
Felix you are great I love your songs specially It is a beautiful morning. I heard this song every morning when I woke up. This song really makes my day wonderful.
Felix, great to see your video, finally the kids can see a true talent. And keep playing that Hammond B3, I still have mine, there is nothing on this earth that sounds like a B3.
hey man, i know you gotta' read these, least i hope so, man talk about memory lane, i'm in my 50's and grew up in new jersey playing drums in garage bands and had the pleasure to see you live a few times and "The Rascals" we're the favorite band of pretty much everyone i knew but watchin' that video gave me nothing but good feelings and your voice and that B3 has put me in a good so many times i just hope you get this and all i want to say is THANK YOU thanks man
maybe i am wrong but talented people like u felix...don't anything else in ur life. people like u had a hard life marriage kids...but this is ur life...nothing wrong with it but u were a kid when u started...i bet u are making more money these days...becuz in those days...they fucked u over...yes i know...i am 53 and have all ur stuff...from those days...
it's very interesting that most bands of the 60's who made it do it for a living now...it's great to make a living doing what u love...most thought it was a temp thing but they are still doing it becuz the music is classic forever
It is just amazing how this guy's voice is still spot on - it hasn't deteriorated one iota. All the style, inflection, and range are still there. How many guys (and gals) is that true of after over forty years?
Hi Felix Iam from Flushing Queens, hung out in the
village. I saw you guys play alot even at the Singer Bowl that is now the tennis cout lol. We listen to the music at coney Island beach,Manhattan beach and just peaced out. I still have your albums and finaly found a record player to play them.. I just close my eyes and see every part of the 60's and where and who I was with. Much love Peace and Happiness to you. Thank you for all the wonderful music. p.s. when are you coming to Vegas?
I don't think this is from a dvd- I believe it was shot just for this purpose, but don't quote me. Best way to find out, though, is to check the official site. The link's in the comments. :)
Felix, you're the MAN. You sound awesome, as always. I'm 44 now. My sister played the "Collections" and "Time/Peace" albums before (and after) school everyday, and I was hooked by age 5! The Rascals are the best American R&R band ever. Thanks for the music....and keep it comin'!
Great pipes! Great tunes! I always thought you were way up there with the best. You and the guys went a long way to defining the era. Warms my aging heart to come upon this! Thanks a million!
I had a chance to catch this group here in Pueblo, Colorado a couple of years ago and
they were great.

Gene was a GREAT melodic guitar player when everyone else was macho distortion. the Rascals sound wouldn't be what it was without him...like Harrison's guitar and the Beatles... now we have imitators copying it almost exactly...these guys aren't the rascals and never will be.
jafomab 4 years ago
Gene and Dino left the band to form Bulldog and Fotomaker. And I haven't heard anyone claiming that Felix's current band is the original Rascals. So I'm not sure what you're talking about. Are they supposed to stop working because the original group broke up?

I agree ina perfect world we would have the org rascals, but this is not Felix claiming to be the org.

I saw the Rascals at Warsaw Indiana June 15, 2007 and they still sounded really good. They did most of their hits. Missed a few of my favorites - but they can't do all of them I guess... Was worth the trip to see them! And Central Park in Warsaw was super nice and clean!! Kudos to the city for bringing the Rascals to town and for the nice clean park!

no. Cornish plays with Dino in "The New Rascals"
