  • wow you use up lots of products! I hardly finish stuff haha.

  • @mariedigbyfansdotcom I get so much satisfaction from it!! ahah I like going on little buying bans and enjoying stuff that I own :)

  • bring your skincare containers (empty or unwanted!) to the bay this week and get money off your beauty purchases!!!

  • @pnaiviv really?!? that's so awesome, I hope my The Bay does that... I haven't seen any sort of announcement for it

  • @ttsandra just sent you a PM with the link! I only heard about it through Flare's twitter

  • The best oil controlling powder I've used is Koh Gen Do Face Powder. I have the Chanel Mat Lumiere powder and MAC MSFN and the Koh Gen Do one is much better :)

  • @MakeYuUp never heard of that brand, where do you buy it from?

  • @ttsandra You can get it from Sephora :) I'm not sure if Sephora is readily available in Canada, but Koh Gen Do is there, I know that much! ;)

  • @ttsandra Just tweeted you the link :)

  • Can you please tell me what the shampoo was? :) I have super thin hair and I get so nervous every time even one hair falls out! haha xx

  • @amanjahaha phyto phytorhum

  • My effaclar K looks different! I think yours is the old formulation... have you tried the new one?

  • @papayamango9 no, my stores still have this kind in stock, i didn't even know they changed it!

  • @ttsandra The new reformulated is even better. So good! And if you need extra strength the Effaclar DUO is fabulous, but use it only at night to fight blemishes.

  • @ddrrssdd I just got the reformulated Effaclar K today! so excited to use it :)

  • Oh and you would love the NARS powder foundation if you haven't tried it before... it's great for an oily skin.

  • Hey! I know I told you about the Loreal shadows that look like the Armani Eyes to Kill... the verdict is you should absolutely try them! I bought two and they are fantastic, very long wearing (I have oily lids) and great colors to choose from. I got an awesome metallic navy blue (looks like MAC's Contrast a little bit) and then I also picked up a matte grey which is so unusual and awesome. There's an awesome champagne, a deep bronze, and a nice sparkly black I am gonna go back to get!

  • Hi, Sandra, I love your taste in Fashion and skin care. I read your blog too and I saw you alway reading some books, base on your good taste in Fashion and skin care, I am sure you have good taste in books too. haha, ya, it doesnt really make sense but I dont really care. anyways, Can you please do a book recommendation sort of video? xxxxxxooooo

  • Hi Sandra, I actually just got the Chanel loose powder recently. I also have oily skin, and I find the powder just ok! It lasts me until lunchtime n then I'm shiny(ugh!). I have used the mac studio fix for a long time n just keep going back to it as it's the only thing that lasts morning to night...some people find it to heavy as a powder but it works for me! Phew that was a long comment!! Hope this helps!

  • hi sandra.. ur hair looks so amazing and healthy. do u recommend any good conditioners or masks?

  • @112angelsss at the moment i'm using the shea butter mask by Frederic Fekkai and I really love it

  • Hi Sandra! I'm Serena, I'm italian and i find you recently. I think you are so sweetie and nice! :)

  • I used the loose powder. It unfortunately begins to look cakey and is messy to use. The estee lauder double wear powder compact is wonderful. I reccomend it.

  • Of course "you don't want to use a pimple" when you have "eruptions" everywhere LOL Girl that made me laugh. Love your videos. Its my weekend morning ritual to watch my fav girls on youtube.

  • @ctdzhuog LOL i know, right. thank you for having me part of your morning ritual :) xx

  • Can you please give me the name of the Chanel powder? :D thanks!! :X

  • @khaguyen0510 chanel mat lumiere powder

  • i use the Chanel loose powder (natural finish loose powder) and i like it :)) now, my skin is not super oily, so i can't tell for sure if it'll work for you as well in terms of "mattifing" your skin.. But for me it has :) I definitely see the difference when i apply it after foundation, it has pretty good staying power on me and i know i'll definitely purchase it again :))

  • I have tried the chanel loose powder and it looks beautiful but did nothing for my oily skin. I am interested to try the matte powder though, you would definitely recommend it??? I'm really oily

  • @jubee30 if you are REALLY oily, I would suggest the bare minerals matte foundation... used lightly as a setting powder it lasts really well. the chanel mat lumiere powder doesn't keep you matte all day

  • I LOVE you with darker hair!! I cant wait to film my video-just a few more products to go! P. s. highly reconmend Sibu skincare. All natural, paraban, sulfate and cruelty free. Ive used it for 3 years. Amazing stuff!

  • In regard to body scrubs from The Body Shop, you could try the shea body scrub. It has a fresh nutty scent.

Another favourite is the brazil nut one from last year which oddly enough is just like the spicy vanilla one from the christmas edition, so should be on sale now.

  • soap and glory flake away! check it out, you can get it from shoppers. it's wonderful:)

  • I have combination skin and the loose powder is amazing. A little bit goes a long way and I've had mine for a year now. Better then Mac's msf!

  • the chanel loose powder is great ( i do have pretty oily skin!) and its definetly better than the msf ! and for shampoo i highly recommend the liz earl one! it makes my fine, oily hair look and feel better than nothing else!

  • I tried your mascara tip. It's brilliant! Saved my mascara which I was about to throw away! Thank you.

  • I tuck my mascara under my arm whilst I'm putting on the rest of my makeup. It means you get more use out of it, stops it from drying out and makes it glide on smoother. My mum taught me that trick when I was small! Lx

  • you look really good in this vid!!

  • funny I use all the same three hair products: phyto, purple purology, and fekkai hair mask!!!! totally works well ....

  • CHANEL WHITE ESSENITIEL BRIGHTENING TRANSLUCENT POWDER GLOWING AND SMOOTHING EFFECT!

Oily skin & I love this powder. It's pale pink powder but when applied to the skin it gives the most beautiful soft focus & on me, stays forever! I also set my oily eyelids w/it before I apply shadow & no creasing all day. It's SO HARD for me to find a soft finish that also controls my oily skin...this is my HG! & no cakeiness at all. It's on the Asian Chanel site but I bought mine from Izzysbeautyshoppe:)

  • Try the Mario badescu enzyme cleansing gel! If you liked cetaphil, ky

  • All of the Anastasia skin care products are paraben and sulfate free.

  • Right now my favorite cleanser is the Orange Cleansing Soap by Mario Badescu! It's good and simple and I use the Sensitive Facial Moisturizer by Burt's Bees! :)

  • Other than to set foundation I've never really bought/used a powder as an oil controller- I may have a look around at some!

  • precautionary principle :)

  • Can you use the Liz earle face cleanser with the clarisonic Mia?

  • @hernajac0 yes!! that's how I use it :)

  • you look really pretty with your hair like that! i picked up effaclar k on your rec and love it as a primer, literally wouldnt go back to using a reg moisturiser under my make up now x

  • Love the hair colour on you :)

P.S. You had me at rum, but you lost me at eggs..

  • @smuggiii I know.. gross lol

  • If you are really super oily you should looking to using Milk of Magnesia as a primer... I learned about it on makeupalley originally and it has been a Godsend for me for 2 years now :)

  • @MrKongsMom my skin is combination... mostly oily but I get weird dry patches sometimes so I can't dry it out too much, either.. it's a pain

  • i also have very oily skin and i have tried the chanel loose powder. it was ok as far as controlling oil, but i now use the laura mercier translucent loose powder and it is better than the chanel for oilier skin type. Also if your looking for a great line of skincare that has more natural ingredients and have excellent benefits on the skin, try origins skincare. they have a website origins.com good luck.

  • @amesina02 I didn't like the laura mercier one too much, I had it and used it up but I wouldn't repurchase. origins has been on my list forever, thanks for bringing it back to my attention :)

  • they use the Chanel loose powder in almost every video on the channel "pixiwoo" typically they use it on the t-zone. they have relatively oily skin n it always looks amazing on camera :)

  • I know what you mean, a cleanser I used for around 5 years contains these ingredients like cetaphil noting special but worked and didnt break me out! Most of my skincare products now (i dont think I ever give up my dermalogica exfoliaters lol) don’t contain the supposedly harmful ingredients but to be honest I still need to do my research on topic. Sometime I wish I had access to a French pharmacy, it make life a whole lot easier! x

  • @sujijoy05 I know! the French have so many amazing products!

  • Could you please write the name of the Phyto product? From the beginning of this video I was wondering what product do you use on your hair because they are so amazing and you tell it ^^ I will in a hunt for this Phyto product thanks!

  • @missgraciebeanie it's called Phytorhum Fortifying Shampoo.. and i use it once a week or every 2 weeks. the shampoo I use more regularly is Purology.. the purple one... with the Fekkai Shea Butter hair mask as a conditioner! xx

  • Hi Sandra, are you german? :)

I have reaaaally reeeallyyyy oily skin. The Chanel loose powder couldnt handle it at all.

If you had good experiences with the mat lumiere dont try anything else.

    Xo

  • @Zouzou1980 no I am not german, I am Romanian. I have friends who live in Germany though :)

  • @ttsandra ce faci? bine?

one of the few phrases I know :D

  • The MakeUpForever Loose Powder, called SuperMat I think is great for setting foundation on my combination skin

  • here in the Netherlands the Chanel powder you mention is a powder foundation so if you buy the powder for the second time you can buy a refill for the original packaging :-)

  • @monobeserk yes! that's how it is here too! awesome concept

  • NO WAY! I'm a Smokey Lash lover and hate how fast it wears out. It get dries so fast. I'm so pumped about this water trick!

  • @themakeupaddict86 I hope it works just as well for you!! xx

  • Wow, you look just gorgeous in this video!

  • I love the Chanel loose powder! I am severely oily, and it has made a world of difference!

  • Btw, for a simple cleanser that is amazing try Cerave foaming cleanser! :)

  • Just had to comment on the loose powder from chanel and say that its the best thing ive ever used. It makes my oily face look like satin and it last for several hours without having to retouch it. I use vitalumiere aqua as my foundation and they are amazing together :)

  • @leathekid sold! I loved that foundation too but one sample i got broke me out really bad, and the other i got didn't break me out... so I've been too scared to purchase it.. but I might in the summer !

  • I have combo-oily skin and love the loose Chanel poudre universelle! It's such a huge tub - it's lasting me SO long! But I do own the compact version for travel and handbag use :)

  • @lydiaoc26 i just got it today! and it better last long, the price plux tax almost gave me a heart attack haha I'm glad I had a gift card. x

  • @lydiaoc26 and by plux i mean plus lol

  • Hi Sandra, i have oily skin and am currently using mac studio fix fluid and chanel loose powder. Its a lovely loose powder but i feel the foundation is the main thing that helps with oil control- I've used it with other foundations and if the foundation isn't oil controlling enough i still get oily. Love your poke-a-dot cushion and your hair looks lovely and shiny!

  • @shody321 you're right, foundation plays a big role as well!

  • I have oily skin (mainly T-zone) & I like the Chanel loose powder for a finish which isn't completely matte however it is a massive jar so not travel friendly. I end up travelling with my Estee Lauder Double Wear Mineral Rich Powder which I like for a 'matte' look. :)

  • Great idea for a video. Used up products. I love the concept. I subscribed :)

  • @anakiya11 thank you so much!

  • Try guerlain's meteorites in tent Dore. Not sure about oil control but it makes your skin so soft and amazing! Great as a finishing powder after makeup application. You're hair looks great btw!

  • @shimmering2light i've been drooling over guerlain powders for so long, I'm currently gathering rewards points at Shoppers Drug Mart so I can buy some Guerlain with my rewards!! haha

  • i have the same skin as you and i got a clarisonic for christmas, i cant remember if you have one but i love it!! also the effecalr purifying gel cleanser is amazing, and you should try that too! the dr perscribed me duac once daily gel, that was great as well, very much like the avene product you like. happy new year

  • @lucyewok28 I have a clarisonic and I also have that effaclar gel cleanser you mention. It's great too but it has sodium lauryl sulfate in it which I'm trying to stay away from in the future. it's great for controlling the oil though, just can't use it daily because it gets a bit too drying. xx

  • you look like pippa wow ;))

  • i tried the chanel powder crystaline and i have really oily skin and it was absoloutely terrible it clung to wherever i had oily patcheds and would look really cakey. in the end i had to give it to a friend as i couldnt wear it at all.xx

  • natural version of Cetaphil is one by korres (don'r remember the name but it is orange looking one), and more exp. but great Perricone hypoaller.gentle cleanser.

I'm out of powder too, but haven't tried Chanel yet, huge jar will probably last 20 years haha but need to research more. XO

  • i tried the chanel loose powder and have combination to oily skin (more oily though) and it didn't work well for me...i don't know why, because everyone else loves it. i already thought that it might not control the oil so well because i think it has some shimmer particles in it, but when you put it on it just doesn't mattify and my skin got really greasy within 2 hours. hope it helps :) i usually don't comment (too lazy) but i love your videos!

  • @Ginie110 thank you for watching and commenting :) I ended up buying the loose powder so I'll give it a whirl.

  • @ttsandra Please update us on the oil control when you have time :0) Thanks!

  • I have oily skin and the chanel loose powder can't handle it!

  • Another great video!!

  • My friend SWEARS by the Chanel powder. Its all she uses, no liquid!

  • Great video!! Dry skin here..

  • My skin is as dry as the desert, so no recommendations here - sorry! :(

  • @asecretpath it's okay, thank you for watching anyway :)

  • I have tried the loose powder, not a big fan I have combination skin, oily forehead the rest of my face is really dry. It lasted on my skin for about 2 hrs then started looking really shinny even on my dry skin also didn't like that it has lil sparkles..

  • @PinkSwoon1206 oooh i know they have a sparkly version too. i tried it on today and it was totally matte.. I bought it so fingers crossed

  • I recommend trying Burt's Bees Radiance facial cleanser; I like it so much more than Philosophy's Purity which is comparable to Cetaphil.

  • @phoeberun86 oooh i used to use the burt's bees radiance toner and i really liked it! might have to try the cleanser too. xx

  • your hair looks amazing, love the color and how shiny it looks! great video i have to the the shampoo and the chanel powder<3

    Happy new year Sandra! xo

  • You look beautiful!

  • @hhollygolightly thank you! xx

  • Lol makeup life

  • Omg...that mascara trick is so dope! I've never heard of that before.

CHANEL loose powder...I have it and I find it oxidizes on me. If you do get it...maybe go for a shade lighter.

    Awesome vid babe!

  • hi there..could you please let me know the hair color you used...its gorgeous! thanks!

  • @MACuriosity i don't colour my own hair, I get it done by my stylist and he usually combines 2 or 3 different shades. it is semi permanent hair colour by Redken that he uses, just don't know the shades

  • @ttsandra thanks for replying. very sweet of you.

  • You so pretty

  • your hair is looking so shiny! what are you using? please share. :)

  • @phenomenalgrl same products in my haircare routine video, nothing has changed :)

  • Oh in answer to your question about the Chanel loose powder, I'd say it's got the same oil control capabilities as Laura mercier's loose powder.

  • @echolalia85 i just bought it today with my gift card. .. fingers crossed... it was SO expensive so it better be nice haha

  • Do you apply la Roche posay effaclar k all over your face daily or just over breakout prone areas? By the way I love your videos :)

  • @echolalia85 yes I apply it all over!

  • Where do you get la roche posay? Did you order it online?

  • @H0LLYg0LiGHTLY2013 Shoppers Drugmart

  • @H0LLYg0LiGHTLY2013 it's available at our drug stores here in canada.

  • love these types of videos!

  • I have the Chanel loose powder but I don't have oily skin. People say it looks good on me, but 2 me it is a bit dry in finish/texture, yet it looks pretty good. I keep think I'd like it better in summer when I will have oilier skin. So with that said I have a feeling it would b great 4 u. : )

  • MAC MSFs do not do anything for me. I found myself packing and packing on the powder which is waseful

  • Ooo.. and I forgot to mention, I think the Mat Lumiere Power and the Double Perfection Powder might be the same thing because they are marketed the same way. And I compared the ingredients and the are extremely similar. Great video! :)

  • I think you would really like the Chanel Double Perfection Natural Matte Powder Makeup SPF 10. I'm not sure if it's the same as the Mat Lumiere powder that you showed. After I heard you mention that powder I went to Nordstrom, but they didn't have it. All the had was the Chanel Double Perfection so I went for it and I ended up LOVING it. It stays on all day and doesn't get greasy/oily even though I use a heavy sunscreen underneath it. I like it more than Chanel's loos powder!

  • @doseofvanity I think that in the US it's called double perfection and in canada/europe it's called mat lumiere.... because here "double perfection" doesn't exist!! and google images show them to look identical!xx

  • scarf.t shirt combo looks so pretty with your darker hair xxxxxx

  • Your hair looks sooo healthy!!

  • You should definitely try the laura mercier setting powder- shine control or the loose powder. They are both fantastic and have really made a difference in controlling oil throughout the day. Give them a try!

  • @warmsoul8 i have used the loose translucent powder before and didn't have much luck. that shine control sounds interesting though!!

  • i sometimes have oily skin and i use the chanel loose powder which looks and makes your foundation translucent and lovely, but you'll find that it has little to no coverage in comparison to the chanel mat lumiere powder

  • I have crazy oily skin and have been using the Chanel loose powder for about a month now. I LOVE IT!! Really awesome finish and great lasting power. I am going to try the one you have as well. Hoping its not discontinued.

  • @clombardo5 upon further investigation I think that in the US it's just marketed as "dual perfection matte powder" where as in canada/europe it's called "mat lumiere luminous matte powder" they look almost identical!

  • i have really oily skin and i use the Lancome DUAL FINISH Versatile Powder Makeup. Works beautifully giving you a matte finish and keeps oiliness down. works perfect for me, i love it!!

  • @kompactkisses that sounds goood!! I am such a greaseball these days, I need help haha

  • @kompactkisses that sounds goood!! I am such a greaseball these days, I need help haha

  • Your hair color looks gorgeous especially with your skin tone. Sooooo pretty

  • I'm surpised Cetaphil does not break you out because it contains sodium lauryl sulfate which is highly comedogenic

  • @symmetricalastic I know! I am trying to stay away from that ingredient now, it's a shame it seems to be EVERYWHERE

  • @ttsandra It sure is! It's in shampoo, toothpaste, cleansers, etc

  • Just wanted to say I've been really enjoying your videos. Thanks so much for making them.

  • @PinkSandcastle thank YOU so much for watching them :)

  • Sandra could u please write the name of the chanel powder for me?

  • @ewaz23 of course. it says "Mat Lumiere Luminous Powder Makeup SPF10" and my shade is "125 Eclat"

  • @ttsandra Thank you :)

  • P.S. I have oily skin and I really like the Chanel loose powder. It goes on nicely without ever looking cakey, and and I feel like it's one of those products that's going to take a longgg time to get through because you get so much product! While you're at the Chanel counter, pick up their new Spring blush (the one with the stripes), it's to die for :)

  • I am wishing that my bobby brown corrector could last forever because of the new formulation

  • I don't know what it is, but you look stunning in this video!

  • I also have the same type of hair.. good info regarding phyto

  • great video....I got the body shop scrub for xmas... was wondering if it wa really good... for dry skin as it state.

  • Sandra, I love ur vids! Can u tell us a little bit on how to choose the right hair color? Do u color ur hair urself? which coloration brand have u used in the past?

  • @MsLovelylatina hi! I have never coloured my hair myself... I leave it to the hands of professionals. I got lucky to find a very talented stylist and he always does a great job. this colour is actually very close to my natural hair colour, which is what I asked for. x

  • @ttsandra I just finished watching ur vid, I've used the Chanel loose powder and I really liked it, but taking into consideration that I have very oily skin, I was in west Africa so really HOT weather and I even didn't put any foundation, just the powder. They had it in two shades, a "naturel" shade and a kind of rosy one! I hope this helps!

  • I need a powder too! I don't know if i want lose or pressed. I am debating wether i should get the clinique lose powder, or the YSL lose powder and/or bourjois pressed powder! I cannot wait untill you show us what you will purchase :)

  • you are so pretty and I really like your hair! thanks for the vid.

  • @28aryam thank you Mayra :)

  • I love these videos.....it definitely motivates me to finish my products. haha I have way too many, but I keep buying more!! So bad!! :P

  • I love my loose chanel power!!! Its amazing. I have oily skin too. I use loose power to set my make up and mat lumier power foundation to touch up during the day. They look absolutely beautiful on my skin:) You are not going to regret buying both :))

  • @yasik4483 that's exactly what I plan on doing xx

  • Hi Sandra, where did you purchase the phyto phytorhum shampoo? I use the Chanel loose powder and it's lovely on my dry/combo skin. I use it over my nars sheer glow and it gives my skin a nice luminous finish (and doesn't cling to dry spots or hairs). I do however have to reapply over the nose area around mid afternoon where I tend to get a little oily.

  • @jpham1990 i got it at Sephora!

  • Comment removed

  • I really enjoy haul videos but these Products Ive Used Up videos are even better !

  • hi sandra! have you ever used any dermalogica products? I've tried the microfoliant and the precleanse and am a little on the fence about them. was wondering if you had an opinion on those!

  • @yulkaluna it's always been one of those brands on my list but i have never used anything by them... yet! I want to get the cream exfoliant soon

  • Thanks :)

  • maybe you can try some Kiss My Face products, I believe

they have a few cleansers to choose from. I've seen them

at the Superstore before, if you have one near you. They're

a natural brand but less expensive compared to the other

natural brands out there. The ingredients list is pretty good :)

  • so lucky that the cetaphil cleanser worked for you... i wanted to like it but it completely broke out my skin. I've never had that much acne in my life. Once I stopped using it, my skin cleared up. so weird

  • Hi Sandra? What's the name of the moisturizer you use in the morning? I didn't get the brand. Thanks!!!

  • @ronellaine1 La Roche Posay "Effaclar K" :)

  • Sandraaaa! I just fixed my two mascaras: Dior and YSL thank you for the tip!!!! <3

  • try Alba Botanica skincare - they were the first "natural" brand I tried for skincare and love it so far. I've used the cleanser and toner from the Acnedote line and the moisturizer and nigth serum from the Rainforest line.

  • @kellinicole86 I see those in the organic section of my grocery store all the time! will check them out xx

  • @ttsandra I have combination/oily sensitive skin too so I think they'd work great for you. Love your skincare vids so can't wait to see if you find something you like : )
