in my opinion, rock band is better.. on ALL instruments. people who aren't very good play guitar hero, all the pro's moved on to rock band. dlc is what makes it great but all around the game is just done much better as a multiplayer game. solo is just as great. i think ghp is about the only one who plays guitar hero nowadays, and only for the customs.

Honestly to all you people saying Metallica's game got boring, or that the songs are too long your wrong, GH Metallica is the only GH game I play now, because all the songs are the perfect length, infact my favourite song to play is Mercyful Fate, the 12 or 13 minutes song so the songs def are not too long. Now I'm not saying this will be bad but GH Metallica has been the best GH so far in my opinion

GH Van Halen is actually pretty fun, but Metallica is still better. I was able to 5* Painkiller on Van Halen with a broken strum bar, had to use the d-pad, so overall the songs aren't gonna be that hard, minus the solos like Eruption, but they're are a hell of a lot of fun to play :P

Yea Band Hero flopped but you gotta give them credit for at least tryign to appeal to someone other than the rock fan. The farthest Rock Band has gone outside of the box is Lego Rock Band. That's right, and sure the DLC is great for Rock Band, but when it comes down to the core game without DLC GH has gone to more genres than Rock Band, with Band Hero, DJ Hero, the Band Specific ones and the yearly installment of GH itself, GH is imo the better game, especially since imo it's more fun

RB, has harder charts even now with DLC. GH is for less skillful players, the hammer-on timing window is so big you can smash you face on the buttons and get solos. RB players always beat up chumps on GH.

@gowplayer2 Well for one the HOPO's in both games are flawed. As you so graciously pointed out GH's are a little too easy, but I find Rock Band's way too hard. I started playing Rock Band before GH 3, I had only played GH 2, and the HOPO's in that game were a lot harder than in GH 3 and up. But in Rock Band, you had to adjust to their style of HOPO's, and the timing was way off from what I was used to. Also look at the top rated comment, it seems to agree with me.

GH looks like it was made by the paint program. Look how ugly it is with all those colors and shit. The multiplayer is dead, and failing. I have GH:WT and GH:5 and i still don't have band vs band achievement, i'm not even joking. I got GH:5 about a month after it's release and have sat and waited in the lobby with my own band of friends and couldn't find a match and on my own. I also have never lost a face-off. Vocals and Drums are trash so people think WELL THE GUITAR MUST BE BETTER! hah fail..

@poop333x2 it's a good thing too. guitar hero is going downhill. Not to say Harmonix hasn't fucked up (see: Green Day Rock Band) but they could do such great things with led zeppelin. In my honest opinion, Harmonix should have done Metallica, although neversoft actually did a good job. Van Halen just seems a bit too much.
