  • This is just absurd. Tanning in a tanning bed is a controlled atmosphere. Unlike the sun, which is why we use sun screen. There is a tanning lotion to protect you from the harmful rays of a tanning bed. It's proven that the controlled vitamin D from a tanning bed is more helpful to the body than what you get from the sun.

Research stuff before your 3 minute rant on nothing.

    xoxo.

  • @alyssaturpin UVA rays are 15 times more powerful in a tanning bed than just the exposure from the sun. UVA rays cause skin cancer. Tanning lotions they provide at the salons do nothing but enhance the tan. They don't protect your skin from the rays. The body needs Vitamin D but outdoor sun exposure is sufficient, you just have to go outside for about an hour a day.

So maybe you should stop tannng!

THIS IS A PSA! not hardly a rant.

  • @maebean15 Obviously you have no idea what you are talking about. Tanning in a bed is way more controlled than being outside. And yes, the tanning lotion puts a coating over your skin so you are well hydrated and you don't burn. It's just like an equivalence to sun block. And going to the tanning bed provides your body with tons of Vitamin D and others. Look it up. Don't try coming at me with nonsense when I've done my research.

  • @alyssaturpin I can tell that you will never give up on this one! But any change in color of your skin shows that the skin cells are damaged. A close friend of mine died from skin cancer when he was in his twenties a few weeks before I made this video. Don't fight the facts that tanning beds can severely increase the chances of getting skin cancer.

  • @maebean15 Well I won't give up bc you're just not right. I'm not saying tanning is THE BEST THING FOR YOU but it definitely isn't bad at all. Sorry for your loss, but that doesn't mean tanning will kill everyone or simply give everyone skin cancer. Anything can give you skin cancer. My aunt has skin cancer and never stepped foot in a tanning salon! You cannot judge everyone off of your loss.

Go too google and search "Benefits of tanning in a tanning bed" and you'll see tons of benefits.

  • @alyssaturpin I'm sorry alyssaturpin but I can't let this go. The cause of skin cancer are UV rays. They come in two forms UVA and UVB. UVA is found in tanning beds. These rays cause skin cancer. I don't understand why you're fighting the reality so much. the benefits of a tanning bed that you told me to look up seem to be minimal and can be gained from going outside and getting natural sunlight.

  • @maebean15 LOL ARE YOU SERIOUS? There are different types of tanning beds. Some tanning beds have UVA, yes. But majority of the tanning beds have UVB rays bc it's much safer. Go do your research lolololol. You are so ignorant..

  • @maebean15 That's not true actually. You obviously didn't bother to research SADD or psoriasis (among so many other things). You seem to have created this judgement souly on the fact that your friend died from skin cancer. While I am sorry for your loss it doesn't make tanning beds wrong. Heck, dermatologists recommend them, insurance will cover them, and doctors/derms have them.

  • Your young though, so you're just naive about the situation. Do research and you'll realize what I (and the PP) said was the truth.

  • @KatsWonderland you're*)

  • ur already tan!! you have no idea wat its like to be pale!! and if you do it in moderation it wont hurt you

  • so tru i prefer the little spray im afrain of tanning beds :( hehe btw i love ur accent

  • i love you accent too! your very pretty, and i totally agree with you..

  • I used indoor tanning because I was going to have an outdoor job this summer, and without a base tan... even using SPF 45... I burn. Badly. Daily.

So, anyways, I used to indoor tanning to achieve a base tan. I can honestly tell you that it's extreeeemely addictive, and I had to use every bit of my will not to buy another package.

The whole process releases some great neurotransmitters like dopamine and serotonin... you're quite right. It IS addictive, biochemically, much like cocaine.

  • @Chaseawaythefog ......Like cocaine?! You must actually be on such a substance to say something like that. Tanning is NOT addictive. It's not. People theorize that it is but there is no evidence to support such a theory. The endorphines that are released are the same type of happy chemicals released when spending time out in the sun, something people need to do to survive. It's just a natural thing. Cocaine on the other hand is not natural, and does not compare to tanning in any way.

  • i love your accent. (:
