@rlopen10 yes probably she's...but its very important atribute for an attacking player to have decent volleying skills (i'm not talking about over the top volleying skills) and when it comes to those skills Jankovic fails, not that she wouldn't be able to volley (because in that case it would be overstatement...) but its just that its not always she can handle ball correctly when its right in front of her to finish off point with fine looking volley...
i like this jankovic here the one who was aggressive she wasnt going for straight winners but she was keeping the ball deep. dont know what happened in the SF though stosur was just to good
I really believe that Jankovic could have won this tournament. She beat Hantuchova, who had already beaten her on clay twice in the season, and she played a really solid match here. Stosur wasn't completely unstoppable, she just lost focus as usual when getting to the later stages. That's why she's 1-5 in Grand Slam semifinals, so much talent, yet so little focus and concentration. Ah, well. I'm still a huge fan.
Most importantly, she was serving incredibly well during the clay season, Chip Brooks really made her serve a weapon during Indian Wells. She simply just forgot how to play tennis during the SF.
@Iadyjaja plus what a nonsense could have won RG??? i mean really??? she even got lucky she got to later stages of the tournament without pulling off and you're saying she could have won? no she could NOT and shouldn't have won...she doesn't deserve it...
@Summon256 I agree that it would've been very difficult to beat Sam, but it wasn't impossible. JJ hit a ridiculous amount of unforced errors in that match, and it's obvious that she wasn't at the level that she was in the earlier stages. Sam did play pretty well, but it wasn't of her form against Serena and Justine. And lol, okay, a former number one whose reached multiple semifinals and won numerous tier 1 titles isn't capable of winning a GS.
@Iadyjaja all her game is built on pure luck and opponents faults...its not going to help her on winning track...she won't ever win any of GSs because all she does is she laways defends...she along with Wozniacki and Ivanovic just got lucky they play in era of tennis where there's no mastery in game, all it requires is pure luck and outrun your opponent, instead of outthink...if she played in Graf's era Graf would demolish her with 6:0 6:0 score...
@Summon256 Well, it's always hard to compare eras but yes peak Graf would probably rout Jelena quite easily.. but what defensive-based player would be able to defeat peak Graf? Probably none! AJJ's game is not built totally on luck... she does have a very technically sound game and can play offensive tennis but as you said JJ does as you say get way too passive in the big points. Wozniacki is much more defensive and as you say "luckier", playing in an era where there are no Williams or Belgians.
@MrWhitehand135 oh really? am i? ...well...idiot here put at least 500+ more words to help strenghten his arguments, which helps him to prove his points, while his much superior (in terms of intelligence) fellow put only 12 easy words, without further explanation...and apparently not even original ones...now thats what only clever person bothers to spend his time and great imagination skills on...isn't it?
Shvedova has a really nice backhand..and of course i always enjoy watching JJ's backhand winners lol

@Iadyjaja you both make no sense...Samantha simply played better and didn't give Jankoovic any chances accept it as a fact if you man enough...
