Many preachers have a written sermon prepared in front of them if one were to inspect the podium closely. And then, some have notes or qoutes they refer to casually to guide the tone of their sermon. MLK, and others had written sermons and notes in front of them. And certainly there are styles-a-plenty when it comes to preaching, and I've enjoyed all kinds at one point or another. I grew up with a pastor that would start off talking and build up to a powerful climactic talk-sing style.
Clearly there are people who have commented that have not read the bible. God usually uses those who communicate with their people at a level of understanding that reaches their spirit. By the way, one definition for a prophet is one who can foresee things that are not apparent to most. Certainly Tupac was very prophetic in his writing. Don't judge a lifestyle or a man because only GOD can do that. He will use the very person you are trying to belittle to teach you "HE IS!"
He's not preaching...he's just reading. I've always wondered about the exagerated language, the misuse of adjectives and the invention of words. "Countrified", what a joke. "Gin and juice", another joke.
He's saying that showing thug-like behavior is just an outward condition that comes from bad human influences; that having that "condition" does not mean that the "conclusion" of your life is being a thug forever; and that God saves everyone, regardless of how they are living their lives.
Is that what you call preaching, Mr. Moss?. Preach the WORD, and stop putting on a show. Where is the insporation of God from your sermon? why are you reading the sermon word by word? Look at people when you preach and not at the notes.... you are so fake... please look for another job, you were not called to preach.
That is unfair and wrong. Most preachers I've ever known, including my granddad, used notes or an outline of the teaching. That is just public speaking 101. I agree that reading a script verbatum is lame, though.

He also says he's the greatest prophetic contradiction... caught between the shining heavens of possibility and the hell of socially constructed reality. Neither saint nor demon."

For one, saying that Tupac is a prophet. That is blasphemous. In another sermon of his he called Abraham a "pimp". This is pure blasphemy.
