  • "Revenge of the Jedi," as stated by Mark Hamill during this, was the original title. So, they must have done this little skit before they changed it.

  • That's what George Lucas's role should be EXECUTIVE PRODUCER

  • Thumbs up if you think king kong is creapy

  • DAMN! I'm really sorry, I accidentally hit the 'dislike' button when I meant to hit the 'mute' above it! I've hit the 'like' to compensate, but sorry for blotting the 'like/dislike' stats with your one and only 'dislike'...

  • i wish they had put some of the home mae stop motion movie on here on youtube

  • none of you people are as big a fan of empire as me!!

  • I have this on Laserdisc, a Japanese print. Awesome show!

  • RIP Irvin Kershner

  • Lucas complains about the way they used to make movies all the time and even to this day is as disappointed with scenes like the Cantina scene . It's a good thing however that Lucas began his work in this era before he had the chance to lose his mind with CG .

  • Angers me that these were never put on any of the DVDs. I remember watching Making of SW in school over the projector, and used to regularly borrow Making of ROTJ from the local library on VHS.

Also, what was the fourth documentary SciFi showed?

PPS: This makes me weep for how awesome that channel used to be, and how atrocious it is now. :(

  • Hey, I had this on VHS...it was a double feature that included the Making of Star Wars too....

  • wow i have the original trilogy i dont remeber it having this shitty quality, then again i always watch the dvds now i dont remember

  • Amazing how they created such believeable effects back then. Today's CGI effects all look unrealistic, corny and overcrowded. The special effects of the original Star Wars films remain, to this day, unsurpassed in their attention to detail, good taste and suspension of disbelief.

  • @Timrath Couldn't agree with you more.

  • @Timrath The CGI of the prequeld looks great!!!

  • @Timrath : Yep, you really summed it up there! You're absolutely right!!!!

  • @Timrath : A-freakin-men! Today, it seems that no-one can make a film without masturbating (constant zooming and shaking) the camera lens... when there even IS a camera.

The zoom lens is NOT a penis. Maybe modern film makers need to figure that out.

  • Why does sci fi only show shit now.

  • THANKS A LOT!!

Haven't seen this since the movie came out.

This is DAMN HARD to find.

    Five *s to you!

  • I remember when this first aired. I still have it on Beta at my father's house. I must have watched this over 100 times (at least!).

  • thank you for keeping this.. i have tryed to find it

  • THis is the BEST of Saga. Which I hate that there has to be ONE good movie out of 6. Thanks for not WRITING or DIRECTING this one George.

  • It is an edit of the original. The 1980 version (sitting on an older deteriorating tape) included scenes from "The Black Hole." Those shots were removed for this 1996 sci-fi channel rebroadcast — used to gin up support for the special editions. I guesss Disney saw no benefit to them.

  • how old is thios? is it from 80'?
