Asthma studies on this one-of-a-kind population are a huge boon for medical science, but still I think the Tristanians fare well despite this genetic impediment. Knowing what they now do, they just need to become versed in the needs of asthmatics, become well-equipped medically to deal with emergencies and perhaps even dilute their gene pool more by introducing one or two new members to the population who they find compatible. There are plenty of people out there who would love to relocate :>)
Spatenface, thank you very much for post this BBC documentary on line. I suffer from asthma, and this documentary presents the final term about asthma origin. Likewise tristan islanders, I live at clear air place, but like them I have asma attacks. This video came discard these nonsenses that asthma may has still psychological cause. When the peoples say nonsens to me about the disease I will seriously compel them to consult this video.
