Make a long story short the Rangers and Celtic both hail from Glasgow, Scotland but Rangers fans are generally Protestant and Celtic fans are usually Roman Catholic actually in the EPL there is a derby with similar origins. I forgot that derby's name but it's between Liverpool (supported by Catholics) and Manchester United (supported by Protestants).

Make a long story short the Rangers and Celtic both hail from Glasgow, Scotland but Rangers fans are generally Protestant and Celtic fans are usually Roman Catholic actually in the EPL there is a derby with similar origins. I forgot that derby's name but it's between Liverpool (supported by Catholics) and Manchester United (supported by Protestants).

Liverpool were founded by Orangemen, and I've heard of Man Utd having a sectarian signing policy, only signing Catholics, much like Celtic had. I don't think, however, that either set of fans of those clubs give that much thought nowadays.

That is not correct Celtic have never said you need to be a Catholic of Irish descent. Maybe early years they made preferrence to it but they dropped it many years ago, Rangers kept theres up until only about 20 years ago. Course Celtic are sectarian, but far less than Rangers.
