  • number 7--- the mick

  • Very nice ... but the liver and me too...

  • A healthy Mickey Mantle would have been the greatest baseball player of all time.

  • Mickey Mantle you were ONE IN A BILLION.

  • Im a red sox fan...but the mick is the best all around ballplayer ever...these guys now couldnt hold his jock

  • Advertisments killed this fucking video, FUCK YOU YOUTUBE

  • @ChevyManSS350

I'm with you, I don't even have a Save-A-Lot in my state and I still have to see that shit.

  • NILS HIER KLICKEN

  • I would like to see what Mickey Mantle could have accomplishe had he even lifted weights or worked out.... The only way those guys worked out afterwards was with beer bottles.. They thought that weight training was detrimental back then...

  • omg its the mick omg he rocks and i dont care what any one else says he rocks and i was reading the comments well yah we all make mistakes were only human so dont be that hard on mickey.

  • Is he talking about Pee Wee Reese and just adds a syllable to his surname at :58?

  • Mantle was also a great teammate.

  • Excuse me,..... Great ballplayer , YES. He was also an Alcoholic, Womanizer, hooked on speed and downers, that got into very public brawls and was a piss poor father.

Sorry, dreamers...but that is also.... the truth

    peace,

    edl

  • @edlphotoee Who asked ya? Who cares about his personal life? He's passed on, he paid for his mistakes, he's a baseball legend, Shut up.

  • @edlphotoee No Shit !! We're talking baseball here faggot! Oh Gosh !! OH! Gollie gee willakers ! We all thought he was a quire boy!

  • unreal...considering he probably played half of e'm..hungover.

  • Roger Maris was a better man

  • I was in Yankee Stadium in 1995 during the old timers game. Mantle appeared on the jumbotron from his hospital. People were in tears as he told the crowd that he would be there next year. I admit that even I was a little misty by it. A great and saddening moment for all.

  • Lew Fonseca had a very distinguished MLB career and was a dapper dresser.

The 1952 WS finale featured a save by relief pitcher Bob Kusava. If you get a chance to watch that game (it was the first WS game fully recorded and re-shown on TV) you will see that Bob used a spitter to frustrate the Dodger batters.

Mickey Mantle -- one of the greatest of all time!

Baseball sure was great in the old days.

  • Awesome!!! How 'bout that!

  • I was glad to have met Mickey Mantle before he passed away and he autographed a few items for me.

  • The Humble "Mick". 1) 3.1 seconds from home to 1st base--fastest ballplayer ever.

Best bunter (drag bunt too) ever. He hit 15 baseballs totally "Out of Ballparks around the league". Too bad he got hurt in 1951.

Playing in the symetrical stadiums like from the 70's, 80"s, and 90's, the Mick would have had over 1,000 Hrs. Tony Kubek is correct. John

  • Wow, they really conducted interviews so differently back then. This is so old school! :)

  • Tony Kubek said on a game of the week, that every season Mantle would hit around 60 shots into death valley in old Yankee Stadium for doubles and so on that if he played in any other ballpark for half his games he played there would have all been home runs. Matamatically Mantle would have hit another 50 or so homeruns each year in addition to his usual 30+. Do the math. He was the best HR hitter of all time.

  • BROOKLYN DODGERS LOL

  • i wish i could have seen him play live my father and grandfather said he was the best if it wasnt for the injuries and the drinking

  • No steroids...No HGH...A Humble, Classy Team Player. When did we lose this qualities in MLB?

  • These guys weren't always all that classy though ... lot of them were boozers and womanizers, not too far different from our days.

That said, there was a mystical trait to the game back then we're lacking now. There ... just isn't that kind of excitement anymore. That, and the players aren't as legendary as they once were.

  • if this shit was around then they would have taken it too!!!

and we lost the "qualities in MLB" when the media came of age like it did. we know everything about these guys now they cant hide anything back then there was a code of silence just like with the politicians and the media back then

  • Power from both sides.

    Lightning fast speed.

    Mickey was the best.

  • Was just thinking to myself,3/4 of the people in the stands are probably dead!

    They will be sorely missed

  • The Comerce Comet they'll never be another Mickey Mantle #7 on your scorecard #1 in your heart
