these three (Lita,Sandy and Joan) were serious about their careers.They stuck together thru all the bullshit thrown their way.I think at this point they were tired of being together.I think Joan was still pissed at Lita.I think Sandy forgave Lita and just wanted to continue rocking.I think Lita wanted to continue rocking but was getting tired of the style of music they were playing.Sandy wanted "it"to continue.

I always thought that Joan, Sandy & Lita were the only ones who cared about the band, but I think Lita wanted to keep on playing, her and Sandy wanted to play metal as Joan wanted punk, and that makes me think that was a reason why they finally broke up :l (Lita once said in an interview that after the band broke up, Joan was still her best friend)

@Bensidhe To bad they didn't come along about 15 years later. They would have been huge.They were just to far ahead of their time to be appreciated back in the 70's. Insane how good they were as teenagers. You can't find bands now in their twenties that can play like this. Lita wields a mean axe too.

@arianeh2 By this time Cherie had quit the band and lead vocals fell to Joan. This is the line-up I thought was musically the best. Joan (as we know now) was an amazing front man. Her Lita and Sandy were tight and only getting better. Cherie was good but I think she was a distraction from the musical talent of the three mentioned above. It's really sad that Sandy's life went the way that it did after the Runaways split up. Sandy was an amazing drummer and these were the best moments for her.

First thing I notice when this thing loads is the sheer aggression of the sound. Once the ears adjust, this is one of the finest captures of the roar and fury of rock I've heard. It's got an in-your-face metallic sound, with Joan Jett's perfectly controlled scream for vocals. God, it's jaw-dropping wonderful and it gets better with each playing.

Really, Lita went onto a pretty major career post runaways, couple of grammy nominations, five major label releases with numerous chart listings both lp and singles, lotsa major stadium touring as a pretty dependable opener and more. And it's plain to see in these old clips why. She was and is, the real deal. Joan's had her moments too !

It's a shame she didn't want a Runaways reunion in 98 when Joan, Sandy,Cherie & Lita were "supposed" to have a reunion. Now Sandy's passed and there will never be a REAL Runaways reunion. This is my fav of the great Runaways. Lita has the body of a woman's Olympic pole vaulter, but Joan is animal, in the best sense of the term. Good luck to Jett, as exec prod. of Neon Angels, due for release 2009. Meanwhile, if you get on Joan's bad side, don't accept any homemade popsicles from her. You have been warned.
