Execution is an easy way out and it ensures they won't spend their life rotting in a cell. Life imprisonment allows them to spend the rest of their life suffering for what they did. That way, whether there is or isn't an afterlife and whether there is or isn't a Hell, we know they suffered some kind of retribution.

@Akrilloth - Amen to that. Life imprisonment is cheaper than the death penalty, and it's better punishment IMO. Execution is an easy way out and it ensures they won't spend their life rotting in a cell. Life imprisonment allows them to spend the rest of their life suffering for what they did. That way, whether there is or isn't an afterlife and whether there is or isn't a Hell, we know they suffered some kind of retribution.

@Akrilloth but the problem is people get wrongfully accused. I would love for the government to peel skin of all mother fuckers like this. But we cannot be certain that all the people that get charged did it, so to make innocent people go thru such torture even by accident is not acceptable.

@digerpaji Yes, maybe they should hold off such things until the suspect is proven guilty, also, if it is proved that he is innocent, he will still have his life after those 5 years or so of torture. That wouldn't happen if they just simply finish him off. Another alternative is slavery, which i think is the best punishment due to the fact that it is constructive.
