I hate using moisturizer. Will it damage my skin if I do not use moisturizer at all while on accutane? I am on week 15 of my accutane course and my acne is gone. But I just started using moisturizer to combat the dryness. I'm using coconut oil. Is that bad? Please help! I am deathly afraid of another break out!!!!!

@RKOmaster then its all hormonal, your body is too sensitive to androgens,. esp worse for those with darker hair.. you should get better after your beard has fully grown in, thats when i got better, but the stage where the beard is starting to develop and spread is the worst time...
I did acutane for 5 or 6 months mostly because of some cystic acne on my face and shoulders. From what i cant remember the first couple months i had seen no significant difference, it wasn't untill the fourth and fifth month that i noticed my clearer skin. I still have small scars on my face and shoulders but theyre fading fast. I seriously reccomend accutane to anybody that is on here wondering how much it will change. @KatAvra I took clavaris which is a different brand of accutane. I got horrible side effects from it, I felt it working, but didnt think it was worth it due to the side effects. I was on it for only 2 1/2 weeks

@ThrowHerAway yeah, it went away as soon as i stopped, its up to you really, if its freaking you out and your skin is clear then stop if you want, as that hair loss can become permanent.

That was like only a month into the treatment. Your acne didn't even look that bad before Accutane then it just exploded. I'm on day 6 of my treatment and my acne looks like how yours did in the beginning. Ughhhh I'm scared.

@TR33T0P03 don´t worry, that reaction is normal. it means your body is getting rid of all the acne it could possibly produce to close your oil glands, its the first step, most people get discouraged by this as everything just explodes 10x worse but just hang there, itll get better. And I did use a cleanser from Neutragena, its an oil free acne cleanser, says it on the bottle, worked great, made my skin feel fresh and smooth. goodluck!

the first 2 weeks of this stuff are hell, every day you get some new infection under your skin. after the 3rd week, your skin really stops making oil which is good and bad. however by this point your skin is very prone to tearing, scarring, and burning.

@HeyYouPMme my derm believes something triggered it, and no, it wasnt hormones because I had a baby face up until one day I suddenly woke up with a cyst forming, and from there it started. My dem believes it was derived because of some sort of food poisoning, but they were never sure.

Both acne from when I was taking it, marks, and break outs. I have a new cyst on my left cheek. And on the right. And the one on the right was the first one I've ever had, so over a time period of 6 years it never left. It shrunk alot in size tho. And I have break outs but not as bad. @oshiomah2000 yeah, avoid anything fried, and chocolate too if you can, thats what i did. you dont have to do it, but i ate healthy all throughout the treatment. and i used any moisturizer form aloe vera, theyre really good
@oshiomah2000 Stay with it. Don't skip or miss stuff. It takes a long time to see significant change, sometimes even after the entire cycle finishes, but the results can be astounding. It definitely worked for me.
hi great results, I have a question but, my skin looks like yours at the 2 month after point, my doctor says she thinks im done and it is merely scarring left as my face is smooth, was this the case with you because she told me to leave it and they will fade with time as it is not acne anymore...its just I kinda argued a bit that I should be on accutane for longer and I feel quite bad if she was right now lol

if you dont want acne dont ever touch your face without washing your hands really well. the bacteria on your hands come to your face when you touch it, as it builds up of touching your face a lot it gives you more and more bacteria which gets into the pores of your face which causes pimples. =) you still look fine! just dont touch ya delicate face!

I have a question, I'm on month 5 of accutane and one month to go but i don't know if i should continue because i've been experiencing hair loss and its freaking me out lol. did you stop having hair loss after accutane?

That was like only a month into the treatment. Your acne didn't even look that bad before Accutane then it just exploded. I'm on day 6 of my treatment and my acne looks like how yours did in the beginning. Ughhhh I'm scared.
Did you do anything else while you were on Accutane to help your skin like special soaps, shampoos, cleansers, etc?

@TR33T0P03 don´t worry, that reaction is normal. it means your body is getting rid of all the acne it could possibly produce to close your oil glands, its the first step, most people get discouraged by this as everything just explodes 10x worse but just hang there, itll get better. And I did use a cleanser from Neutragena, its an oil free acne cleanser, says it on the bottle, worked great, made my skin feel fresh and smooth. goodluck!

@BoneRomania I totally agree with you! I was more depressed about my skin being bad with nothing helping than I was while I was on accutane because I saw improvement. I have suffered from severe depression since childhood and I took it long before all the depression warnings but if anything it made me feel better!

@babicakes204 I just finished 11 months of accutane....i had very very very severe acne...and now it's almost clear. Those things with suicide are bullshit! You wanna comit suicide because you think you look like shit and you are afraid to go out. That's what happend to me. And belive me actuanne is worth it. TRY IT OUT IF YOU SUFFER FOR SEVERE ACNE!

the first 2 weeks of this stuff are hell, every day you get some new infection under your skin. after the 3rd week, your skin really stops making oil which is good and bad. however by this point your skin is very prone to tearing, scarring, and burning.

@HeyYouPMme my derm believes something triggered it, and no, it wasnt hormones because I had a baby face up until one day I suddenly woke up with a cyst forming, and from there it started. My dem believes it was derived because of some sort of food poisoning, but they were never sure.

I still have a few marks myself, thell fade away with time eventually, and dont say your life sucks, im sure youll get over this, at least you dont break out anymore aftergoing through accutane. seawater helps a lot with the fading of the scars, helped me tons.

Both acne from when I was taking it, marks, and break outs. I have a new cyst on my left cheek. And on the right. And the one on the right was the first one I've ever had, so over a time period of 6 years it never left. It shrunk alot in size tho. And I have break outs but not as bad. And its some times white heads but mostly cyst. And to where I came from it sucks. At one point your the center of attention and now people don't even remember who I am. But I have God so I'm good.

@RKOmaster and bro you should get some organic coconut oil and use it on your scars. Its suppose to be insanely good for scars and stuff. I personally used it but I'm not sure if I bought the right kind and I still have acne. So I think it just irritated my skin. But if you don't have any acne at all and just scars it shouldn't irritate your skin.

@oshiomah2000 yeah, avoid anything fried, and chocolate too if you can, thats what i did. you dont have to do it, but i ate healthy all throughout the treatment. and i used any moisturizer form aloe vera, theyre really good

@oshiomah2000 Stay with it. Don't skip or miss stuff. It takes a long time to see significant change, sometimes even after the entire cycle finishes, but the results can be astounding. It definitely worked for me.

if you dont want acne dont ever touch your face without washing your hands really well. the bacteria on your hands come to your face when you touch it, as it builds up of touching your face a lot it gives you more and more bacteria which gets into the pores of your face which causes pimples. =) you still look fine! just dont touch ya delicate face!
