since everyone is talking about fuel mileage i might as well mention that my 2 ton 1997 oldsmobile aurora has a v8 and i get 22 mpg city & 30 mpg hwy all the time. yes in a 2 ton american made v8 that's 12 years old! mpg is over rated. little cars with tiny motors doesn't equal better fuel mileage. it's all about gearing and ample power. the rice lacks the latter

actually its funny... the evoIX weighs about 3250 pounds about 200 lbs lighter than a camaro... and gets about the same gas milage as an lt1 or ls1 camaro... its just funny... and they both run low 13s stock... theyre also about $35 thousand new... but the v8 as always, more torque, but the evo makes up with the slightly less weight...

pretty much, its a good race stock for stock... and both have a lot of potential...

Typically American Muscle comment. That is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. The evo has a god damned 2.0 Liter engine. TWO LITERS! V8's have over 4 LITERS and four more cylinders. If you add a turbo to a V8, then you have to add more displacement into a 4cylinder turbo to make it "even." Don't hate on the EVO, it is a much better car than any muscle car within the $30,000 range. PS. The EVO has one of the strongest 2.0L engines out there.

Matter of fact, the Evo is the fastest around the Nurb for the price range and displacement.

It's not about thinking Camaros are 'so great', it's about respecting the performance of each. Obviously some Evo owners are thick and think Camaros are slow. Some Camaro owners are thick and think Evos are slow...in reality both have posted 12s bone stock and both run low 13s bone stock with 'decent' drivers. My LS1 Z28 bone stock went 13.1 @ 108mph... ET good enough to be a dead even race with stock EVO but enough MPH to pull on them at higher speeds/distances longer than 1320ft.
