Interference and Diffraction of Light Experiment

I'm thinking about doing an extended essay in this topic but I have no optical bench available. How can I attain the same, or similar, results without spendin so much money?

this is a huge waste of time and money. my physics professor did this experiment with a hand held laser pointer and a slit disk.
