ok i think we are both wrong

after he got throght the BEDROOM door it was previosly recorded.

if u watch the tv version again look at the handcuffs in his pocket, after he goes throgh the door the handcuffs are not there anymore

so he ran off in some other direction while the rehersal version is being shown on tv

and that was not the only stairwell in that whole building. it would be considerd a fire blockway and its required to have at least two possible ways out of the building
