I have a few questions... Is that a Epi Les Paul Studio, because I have one and wanted to know if the bigsby changes the tone or anything. Also, I don't feel comfortable drilling into my guitar myself, so I wanted to know how much it should cost if I got a someone to do it for me.
@culzo89 yes but you must get a different type of bigsby, also use a vibramate system you wont have downgrade ur guitar with holes and if yu dont put masdking tape on the spot where u dril then you wont crack tho fenish like in this video
tell me the bad things of putting one in...i have an epiphone les paul,i payed about 850$ for it,if i would be to put one in would i loose any sound from my guitar?
The only a few downsides to adding a Bigsby that I can think of. If you don't use a Vibramate adapter you will have to drill holes in the top of your gtr. It also adds a little weight to the guitar and you might lose a little sustain (my LP didn't).
@stewartakaryan You won't lose any sound/volume. The only down side is depending on how much you use the Bigsby, the guitar may need to be tuned more often.
Kingddd333: I think a Bigsby would probably fit your LTD. However I would take the guitar to a music store and make sure by holding a Bigsby up to the guitar to make sure that none of the hardware gets in the way. If the body is a little too short you could try putting a shim at the bottom of the guitar so that it would fit.
Thanks @ninjasnacksDotcom & @LeviMan2001. I actually got the bushings out just fine, but I was worried that if I left them out I wouldn't have a ground (unless of course I connected the ground wire somehow to the Bigsby). I figure if I leave them in I will have a ground PLUS more of the string vibration will be translated into the body of the guitar. I just worried about the bushings not being flush. I was thinking of (gasp) hammering them flush. Any ideas?
Question: I know you removed the tailpiece posts, but did you remove the bushings or leave them in? (I can't tell from the vid) If you left them in, does your B7 sit flush on top of the guitar or is it slightly raised? Thanks!
@nsink77 If your worried about the difficulty of removing inserts, don't be. Just get a object that extends up into the inserts threads area a bit, drop it in, then screw the posts in, with a screwdriver and it should pull the posts out.
@nsink77 In regards to the Les Paul. I did leave the bushings in and the Bigsby rests on them. The B7 Is just slightly raised. It works and sounds great.
wow it really improves the looks of the guitar, I'm thinking about customizing my little les paul too. I love the results your guitar looks amazing...by the way the backing music gives the video an extra touch.
Yes, it is an Epiphone Les Paul Studio. It did not noticeably alter the original tone. The cost?
Well it's the bad economy so shop around. You can probably find someone to do a decent job for
cheap.

how difficult was it to install the bigsby? Im afraid of drilling into guitar =/
crazytrashman123 1 month ago
The humbuckers are the originals, I just put covers on them. They are held on with solder.
ninjasnacksDotcom 2 months ago
In the video did you replace the open humbuckers with closed ones?
NinthFoundationBand 2 months ago
No, thats the original bridge. However, I really like the ResoMax bridge I put on the Les Paul in my other video.
ninjasnacksDotcom 3 months ago
do you need to install a new bridge?
oXFLaMeDXo 3 months ago
I'm gonna buy an Epiphone Les Paul Custom and I'm planning to install one of these Bigsby tremolos.
1. How much will the guitar cost if I install the Bigsby like I said before?
2. IF, if, someday somehow somewhy i found out that the bigsby is not as good as i thought, can it be changed back to the original settings again?
3. Will the guitar get out of tune right away as i break one of m strings?

A stupid Q, but how did you put the cover on the humbucker?
Motopsycho96 11 months ago
@Motopsycho96 First I put a few drops of hot wax on the top of the PUs. Then I soldered the bottom of the covers on each side.
ninjasnacksDotcom 11 months ago
@ninjasnacksDotcom Oh, ok, then I'm finally gonna get my dimebuckers and not a pair of h4s

Is B7? or B700?
Thank you
Musicansfriend 1 year ago
@Musicansfriend
The Bigsby is a B7, It is better quality and easier to position /install than a B700.

can you make it sqeal like a floyd rose?
thebeanfiles 1 year ago
@thebeanfiles No, It is not good for aggressive playing; Only subtle vibrato.
ninjasnacksDotcom 1 year ago
@thebeanfiles It'll squeal, if you get some harmonics and bend the pitch up, but not even CLOSE to what a Floyd Rose will do.

is a bigsby vibrato basicly the same thing as a tremalo bar?

@jarhead9691 Yes. they are basically the same thing.

@jarhead9691 Not exactly. Bigsbys are vibrato bars, not the same thing as a traditional whammy bar
