Truly amazing post aneurysm Neil...this is his usual communion with GOD.
All kinds of accolades, and plenty to say but when I saw and listened to this...there are really no words...absolutely none just Neil and this great music....
double drop D av been playin about 15 years and never thought down that path, but that the difrence between us a got a beutiful hobby, this mans true genius.
the lyrics and melody in this song as with most of neils repetoire make me scared but in a good way ye cant describe it the man is 1 of gods own works of art.

Sometimes I feel really blessed that my family, friends and life experience have given me the education and the stimulations necessary to get to know really good music and truly enjoy it. I feel sorry for people that listen to the same crap everyday on their way to work, and can't even process the beauty of a quiet, acoustic, deep song like this.
Skid row.. Salvation Army Mission.. Concrete.. Empty Faces.. Long Overcoat.. Can't get warm..That man that walks funny ain't laughing.. Jake leg.. Numb from the hips down..The laughter comes from the empty bottle of white port..
@mycatslistentome once i got a bonus at work. $50, i went downtown on a rainy friday to get some dinner, had my 6month old in my arms, i offered a homeless guy a $10 spot. He said no u have a child! i was stunned.
@PInk77W1 My son and I lived on Larimer street in Denver in 79. It was the pits on S. Row. but we got out of there.. There are some genuine people there through no fault of their own. If you ever have a spare buck give it to the Salvation Army.. They are for real and they don't pay their execs much like other companies..Times are tough for lots now and maybe going to get tougher. Salvation Army helps people get on their feet Clean arms since 78.
@mycatslistentome i rode my bicycle across usa went thru denver. clean arms since 78 that is awesome. i have never done any drugs, my brother ODed on heroin a few years back at the age of 54. very painful. Godspeed to u and your son.
Its great how he packs up at the end. Its as if he didn't care for an audience, this music is coming straight from his soul and he accepts that. We're just lucky enough to listen in.
Saw this performance on TV but never thought I'd see it again. This version of the song, performed after the audience had gone home, is sublimely gorgeous - just haunting. There's something touchingly melancholic about the fact he faces away from the camera. We're sort of looking in on a man's private communion with his guitar. Thank you very much for posting this.
Non chiamarmi piccola-resta quello che sei sempre stato-il mio uno il mio tutto-accampa i sogni ai piedi del volere e della saggezza-sii per sempre la mia vecchia ragazza sorridente.
A gibberish laden storm of caterwauling, unharmonic guitar screeching and high-pitched whining, more worthy of a transgendered trollop pushed into a gutter after swallowing gallons of cum from multiple wayward gentlemen enjoying a night of depraved abandon in several of the seedier establishments on the dark outskirts of the shining city on the hill.
James!! Scuttle your way to me quickly now, man!
Bag that cat Nelly Young tonight. Here's a stout bat. Beat the daylights out of her!
There's a lot of Neil Young's music that I don't like or get but then there are these masterpieces that just leave me speachless, the man is a genius.
My absolute favorite version of this song. You can't write a song like this about addiction without seeing its tragic ends up close. Neil has such a vulnerability in his voice that is so striking and genuine.
@kstrehlo I felt the same way about it. Saw the movie, loved it, and then in the end comes this track. And it's UN FREAKING BELIEVABLE. The entire piece all the way to the point where he puts his hat on and his guitar away is my favorite part of the movie.
I am glad to live in this era of people like Neil Young and the music he gives us even at his age today. These are different times now and yet when i watch all this i am so
happy to be a part of what Neil has given us thru his talents. He is a great inspiration
to alot of younger people who are just learning about him. God Bless Neil Young
I have to agree with barnick, i was like wow and knew instantly ill love this song. I tried looking for this song for a little while ever since i heard it at the end. I hope to own the movie soon too :)
I remember when I first heard this song, I just went wowww, is that going 2 be me?? Like Needle and damage, I heard it when I was young and it scared me into staying straight. Thanks mate. From the old crying lady.
