Its just brilliant that Des loved the "grief" they gave him. However, having these two great gentleman take the mickey out of you must have been a real honour anyway.
See, I get the impression that most of the 'comedy' that is on the TV now wouldn't stand the test of time like these two have, or Dad's Army, or 'Allo 'Allo or the Two Ronnies, or anything of that era. They are pure genius. : )
Can anyone help me find something which I haven't been able to find on youtube?
I'm sure I'm not imagining it. There was a scene where Eric, Ernie and Des appear at the top of some stairs and all three walk down, but where Eric and Ernie's staircase comes to an end, Des' stairs carry on and he disappears down into the stage...

The greatest comedy double-act ever without question. Better than the brilliant Laurel & Hardy, Lewis & Martin and Ant & Dec.....just kidding with that last one! What a great sport Des 'O Connor always was with this mickey-taking.
I loved these guys!! Golden age of comedy and Des (and all the guests) were such a good sport!! does anyone have a clip of the sketch when Eric goes fishing with a Des O'connor record?
Soooooo funny!!!!! Just heard a Des song on the radio and it brought back memories of Des being sent up by Erice and Ernie. So pleased to find this clip on here. Thanks so much :-)
does anybody know where a sketch is on video or otherwise after having looked which contained eric and ernie being in a house with the same man who did robin hood with them with big golf trousers ,and having a premonition if youve seen it you know what im talking about any help would be much appreciated- thank you
Francis Matthews appeared on a few episodes of Morecambe & Wise, only the first 4 BBC series have been released on dvd, his next episode was in series 6. I've only got a small clip from UKGold's best of M&W show.
Every single modern comedian (or aspiring comedian) should watch this and marvel at the dialogue, the timing, the body movement, the pauses etc etc. An object lesson in what comedy is. Simply delightful.
