Im sorry but i saw his fight vs franklin for the 2nd time 2days ago on spike and i cant see how wanda lost any round. He had the takedown and did damage from a dominate position,2nd round rocked franklin not once but twice and the 3rd round franklin was back peddling the entire time. The only reason franklin won is cause wanda prime is gone and franklin is a cash cow. One of the ufc fan favorites and so more people would pay money to see him fight over a better fighter.

With all due respect to Franklin, he would not have lasted 60 seconds with Wanderlei in his prime. The guy we saw last Saturday was just a shell. He looked like a shot fighter to me. He hasn't been the same since Mirko kicked him. The reflexes aren't there, the recovery and gastank aren't there. Maybe the weight-cutting had something to do with it, but Silva has simply suffered too much wear and tear. I'd much rather remember him how he was in his heyday and hope he retires.

it's hard to listen to him say all this stuff. it seems to me that he has become lost in all the fans, the hype, and the money. I feel as though he's forgotten where he came from and he's forgotten that what he does should come from the love of the sport. In pride, he showed the world what a true champion really was. Hope we see the Wanderlei from the past....

I love wand but to be brutally honest, its his fault for losing the weight ONE day before the fight... thats why he gassed enormously..
in his video he states he was feeling great that day...its obvioulsy not true..he could have destroyed franklin if he had trained at that weight since the day he signed the contract.

Wand, you are a very passionate and respectful individual. Please stop using the scuba training. It limits your oxygen intake, trains your brain to breath through your mouth, therefore hindering your explosiveness and performance. Sure, you may not gas, but it certainly will slow you down.
It's a good reason why sprinters and other olympic athletes do not train with scuba gear. Just because Alejarra is a professor does not mean he knows that he's doing.

With all due respect to Franklin, he would not have lasted 60 seconds with Wanderlei in his prime. The guy we saw last Saturday was just a shell. He looked like a shot fighter to me. He hasn't been the same since Mirko kicked him. The reflexes aren't there, the recovery and gastank aren't there. Maybe the weight-cutting had something to do with it, but Silva has simply suffered too much wear and tear. I'd much rather remember him how he was in his heyday and hope he retires.

its great that we live in a world where its possible to train under someone like wanderlei at his training center, im sure when MMA gets more main stream and top fighters start to make millions a fight fans of 2050 wont have the honor of being able to train with the greatest of their day.

I was in Cologne for UFC 99 and it was a great fight. Wanderlei is still the one and only. Respect to Rich, but most of them were there for Wanderlei. Overtraining is a result of being too eager to win...Don't worry Wanderlei, great fight and in my eyes you won !!!

over training is training when ur supposed to rest..rest is a vital part of an athletes training without the right amount of rest athletes wouldnt gain enough energy for the next day of training or worse injure themselves
