When I see this video, I realize that coming to live in Vancouver, BC was a great decision I made. However, I love my home country (Ecuador), but BC is my home too!!
If you play the hook together and the same time you can hear that its note for note the same. It was bothering me during the olympics because I knew I heard the song before. Sure enough I played them together and its the same (just the hook though).
I can see the similarities between this and the Californian commercial . i just watched their commercial again, and I think our version is better. It just nails it. And for the nay sayers asking why we couldn't find more well know people... these are all pretty famous people, so not sure what you mean by that. Michael J Fox for the win!
I keep thinking that we have bigger celebs from BC that could've been in this ad. Michael Buble, Bryan Adams, David Foster, to name a few. Was this commercial show outside of Canada? Maybe they were trying to get the most recognized BC celebs in the US?
I'm a Canadian living in NYC... you're probably right. I've seen this ad a few times now and I guess they went with who they thought Americans would recognize best. Can't wait to bring my American hubby to BC for a visit!
Woo! Excuse the irrelevance, but if I may ask, who are you currently cheering for: Canada or the US? I've asked people this who have moved back and forth from both countries but nobody gives me a direct answer.
honestly, i'm proud to be living in Vancouver, i never appreciated how wonder and how beautiful the city of Vancouver is until i traveled all over the world, there really is not better city and a more beautiful city then Vancouver

I have lived here for the last 30+ years. and the pretentiousness of these ads are totally ridiculous. Visitors will be very shocked when the various groups of non-whites are seen in OUR FAIR province. The ads do not represent the cultural mix that makes the place 'MULTICULTURAL. Very hypocritical. Shame on YOU! Thanks for including the art decorations. (the dancers)
Its sad that you only see people by the colour of their skin. Calling the native dancers decoration is appauling... I love my province and every culture that we have here and just because the CELEBS used in this ad are 'white' does not mean that its the only race we have here. They more than likely were the only celebs to agree to do the ad....If all you saw while watching this video was skin colour instead of the beauty of where we live then I truly feel sorry for you. Talk about hypocritical
Love from Toronto!! we love your fantastic province guys - no need to always hate on us!

Ad or not, this video is absolutely brilliant.
It almost demeans it to say it takes advertising to a whole new level.

I am highly offended that Wreck Beach was not profiled in this commercial... Kim Cattrall would have done that scene.. I know it, I saw porky's!
