  • I look at my two sons and get sick to my stomach when I think how little they were when stolen from their parents and went through things like this.

  • white man (christians) are satanic.

  • This is at the Anishnawbe Health Toronto on Queen St. E. Thanks for posting....:)

  • Canada: a failed puppet of america

  • I'm really starting to disbelieve all the talk about canada being multi culturaly diverse. Obviously not if all this stuff went on in the past. YOu cannot just forget the past and pretend nothing bad happened. Canada pretends it is culturally diverse. Thats there way of trying to forget the atrocities of the past history of canada

  • wtf...that has nothing to do with multiculturalism you retard. no ones forgot about residential schools, students are taught about in the social curriculum. I don't know how we can pretend to be culturally diverse? and how that's out way of trying to cover up our past? i think you need to try and not be so ignorant and closed minded.

  • No. I stand by it. Northgrant can kiss my Doukhabor ass! Looking down at people or labeling them primitive is no excuse. If people build seperate huts, guess what? That is a concept of private property. That is a trademark of humanity, not the product of the fictions created by mankind or its legal system and drafted laws and regs. Northgrant has no clue as to what rights are and aren't and where and when and how they apply in different areas of reality and life. Learn how to spell dean.

  • The poor guy...

I'm reading a book called "Courage is like a wild horse" about a Native woman reflecting her experiences in residential schools and in and out of foster care... very powerful and very heartbreaking.

The apology from Stephen Harper and government of Canada was one of the best things to happen yet :)... least, i think so.

  • Yeah that is the bottom line

To alienate the people so that they are incapable of living, and raising their children , the next generation . It's really sad , and I am not Indian but I have so much empathy for all those people who suffered at the hands of the colonists.. This civilization of ours, it's kindof doomed and i think we are seeing this more now than ever.

  • what about the next generation ! the kids with parents of resendential schools ? .... what about those kids ?

  • 2008 we are first generation children with freedom. Our parents were the grandchildren lived all their lives in apartheid on royal reserve prison sites. Their grandparents had been the children of the end royal king's bounty genocide kill off majority of all our peoples.Today our leaders forget are good royal sheep fail the many

  • Holy shit, you don't know anything about this do you?

Just shut up now before you look really stupid. Same with Northgrant.

And for the record I do know many native people that were subjected to those shit holes. Ignorance and arrogance are alive and well on youtube.

  • They did live in the Stone Age. They had no concept of private property, hence they own NO land whatsoever.

  • Hahahahahaha! Keep going! I haven't laughed this hard in a while. You really are one clueless fuck aren't you? A concept of private property gives you land? Hahahaha!

More! C'mon jack ass, don't disappoint. Tell us more oh great and ignorant one!

  • @Northgrant the concept of owning land was a European idea that was brought over.

Another idea that was forced onto the Native people. Native peoples did not "own" the land, that is correct, instead they lived off the land, gave thanks for the land. They gave the land the value of a life, not the value of a dollar.

  • I dont know where you get 'stone age' from but many years have past in many different cultures. However, in First Nations Culture, it is the one culture I know for a fact that many different races pay big bucks to. Flying to secluded mountains destination by plain to feel the REAL freedom in which the First Nations once had. BTW you sound ridiculous and uneducated. Shush ya mouth and learn to read and educate yourself on touchy subjects such as lives of family members that DIED FOR NO CAUSE!

  • This comment makes you look like the heartless, uneducated, retard you must be.

  • Northgrant, i worked for everything I have, just like most native americans want to do. Dont judge us until you have walked a mile in our moccasins. All you have made clear here is how little you really 'dont' know. If you cant respect the culture in which gave u land you live on. I corage you the privilege to return to your own lands.

  • right on man.

  • Your money? I work too, jack ass ! I'm native !Figure that one out !.. Your money that a laugh ! "OK" put "your money" on a plate and eat it ! take "your" lonnies and twonnies, put it in a cup and drink it......when I'm out in the bush , I don't give a fuck about money! take "your money" and go buy "your self" another country to live in ! jack ass..

  • Yet one more reason to be an atheist. Regardless of the fact it was a religious group responsible, they still should have had the human decency not to do those terrible things to other living humans. Especially children forcefully removed form their families...

I heard about the skeletons of kids they found, some too young to be enrolled. (you know what that means)

    Some people are so warped...

Im glad you received an apology but you and others deserve much more...

  • I wish atheists would apologize for the 200 million deaths they have caused and continue to cause under officially atheistic communism and socialistic regimes.

  • the roman catholic church is to blame, if i was that guy, i would not stop untill i murdered the people who did that, i would slice open there throat very slowly, just try to cause as much pain to them as possiable before they die, or tie them down and slowly cut of limbs while keeping them alive

  • just imagine what our people would be like without residential school, there would be a lot less violence and hate in our hearts, some of us still have that grudge. The things they done is very damaging and for some people, the scar will never heal.they cant give us that life we wouldve had. but we have to heal from it if we want to better ourselves, we must find a way to forgive them, and live a better life

  • very sad
