CLEANING TIP i have read katadyn used to give you a brush, well when you clean your filter cartridge take an old tooth brush before using scouring pad, less cleaning needed with the scouring pad then.
i have an old tooth brush in the storage bag just fro that reason
@MrB0TT After use and before storing you want to clean the filter and all components with a bleach-water sanitizing solution and lay out unassembled to dry. I just rinse the carbon filter accessory and store as is…I don’t take that component apart to dry and it’s never been a problem. I suppose you could, but as you mentioned, it would take a long time to dry.
Thanks for the info on the Katadyn filter. I had priced them earlier and wondered if they were worth the money.........so you're still not sick? I really don't think you would have drank the water if you didn't think it was safe. Take care and blessings :-)
@2Bibleppl i use the same filter on stagnet frog pond green nasty water...water was cristal clear ...i filtered mine into my aquastar plus ..and UV treated the water just incase ...still alive been one year
god where are you at? that makes me jealous...i live in oklahoma and you have to drive 250 miles to find water like that.

Do those filters get any mold or mildew once they are used? It seems like a charcoal filter would take forever to dry.
