Yes i propose for such high power HID Kits you need i.e. Hella Rallye 4000. I had them before i bought the Lightforce... Quite nice light but way heavier than Lightforce because their metal housing and real glas reflector is so "heavy". But for a truck: no problem ;-)
Greetings from Australia by HID-Lightsdownunder and thank you for your comment.
Very illuminating video, how bad do those grey gravel roads and street signs reflect.Ha!
When we turn ours on offroad we sometimes have to squint because of the road reflection which negates having good lighting on in the first place. Unfortunately our 100W HID kits do not play well with Lightforce and their polished aluminium reflectors, and will bleach them white within months. Too agressive.
@Lumenmunster So you are the guy making defamatory threats against other business people, cussing like a trooper when someone disagrees with you and then blocking them and leaving churlish comments. Man you yibba yabba on how one minute you are using a private testing ground like some secret squirrel etc etc and yet you are using what brand HID kits? Are you a qualified engineer and if so in what? Lay out some real specifications with input voltages and loss at bulb etc.
@mercyoz : By the way, don't be surprised.... They will be even brighter because the camera wasn't capable to manage all the light output... Good luck & have fun with your conversion!
Those are seriously awesome lights, I going to buy 7 of them for my S-10 this summer. I have a rollbar and a bull bar, maybe I should buy some sun glasses.
Yeah, that's a GOOD idea wearing sunglasses ;-) traffic signs reflect so badly they will blind you with ease :-) When all your 7Lightforces are HID's i would take 4 pencil beams (without filter) and 3 floods (with combo filter): thumbs UP!
ty for answer. i have actualy lightforce xgt 240 on my passat, and i wil never changes to other lights for the moment , im am about to order 100 w lights to put on, hope its even better
@altavaer : i would convert to HID. If ou're really interested in getting more light output and less power consumption it is a "must" to change... You won't regret it! Every 35Watt HID conversion kit (preferably 5000k max 6500k) will do the job. Just check out at ebay...
Well i appreciate Hella but Lightforce confinced me to change the Ralley4000 HID to the Lightforce 240 XGT. They are larger in diameter, the reflector is shaped as a pencil beam and if you want to change the light you just need to use a different filter and not a complete reflector. They are very durable and not so heavy like the Hella. Hella uses glas and Lightforce uses strong plastic which is in my opinion better... You can't abuse Hellas like Lightforce... they will easily break...
Hi, these lights are AWESOME!!! Way BETTER then Hella! But they're expensive: look on ebay item no. 160391426176 or perhaps (already modified) 320472482304... I modified them to HID so they're bright as hell. Next step is to boost them up to (REAL) 70W with a special ballast and igniter. I'm pretty sure that i've the brightest ATV in Europe ;-) The light output will be at least ~ 28000 lumen (2x35W + 2x50W +2x70W) Regards from Germany! PS: look at my other video: 7ijhHbrBEMc
Big oops on my part in previous post, missed the DL50. Just went looking, and *now* know and understand what your talking about.
Just curious as to how your installing the DL50. Having never seen a real LF 240HID, am now just wondering are they designed (do they use) the D2R/D2S style, and therefore the DL50 fits straight in?
I'm kinda spewing that I don't already know this bit of vital info.
Hi down under! The XGT has an aluminium ring which has to be drilled out to let the D2S fit snuggly in. The light center length (IMPORTANT) is 27,1mm and must be adopted so the focus will be at the same place like H1 or H7 (both with 25mm). The result is that you'll have a nice spot. The XGT housing is large enough so the D2S connector has enough place to fit in the housing (a real LF 240HID uses D1S: google==> "INTERNATIONALDRIVING.pdf"). I'll post a video the next days with details. Cheers!
No prob! As i wrote you there two batteries connected with the Trenn-MOSFET. This is installed straight to the alternator and two exits to be connected to the two batteries. For anymore info regarding the Trenn-MOSFET please use info@microcharge"DOT"de. But if your battery is strong enough you can connect the lights directly to the battery.
I'm coming from Germany so i bought mine from Sweden. You can watch for them on ebay (~400$), i've seen them but DON'T buy the 240HID. They are WAY too expensive!!!! Just look for 240XGT on ebay so you'll find some and then look here (youtube) for "djmaunder" (give my regards to him!) he's a cool Aussie who can help you converting your 240XGT to HID. Or look at his auction Item number 170197418006. May the tight be with you! ;-)
The lights have an extra switch so they're not connected to the driving light. The "ballast" from the HIDs have a 12 Volt input and so you can connect it easily to your machine...
the camera bleaches from 50 mts. away! thaz some light!

I just can say that i'm still satisfied (for three years!) with my XGT's... Perhaps they have had quality problems???
