I have been watching since before the 1st Wrestlemania & I like lots of different wrestlers. I think HBK is great in the ring, but i always prefered Bret's more believable style. He had his patented move set, but so does every wrestler. I thin Bret was average on the mic, but overall I think he was a great storyteller in the ring. HBK is flashier. I would have loved to have seen a HBK/Dynamtie Kid match when they are both in their prime though. Dyno was a dick, but he was fantastic in the ring.
Bret Hart was not liked by his fellow wrestlers. I know, I work with these guys off and on for about eight years and I knew Bret and his Brother Owen, I didn't know them as friends (I didn't want too) but I associated with them quite often and I'll tell you (my thoughts only) Owen was a better wrestler but I didn't like either one of them. They were cheap, back stabbers to there own kind, mouthy, and felt they were above all the other wrestlers, especially Bret. He was a 1st class jerk!!!
I'm a WRESTLING fan... not a bret hart, hbk or justin credible fan... and Bret Hart was good, he wasn't great... he was robotic, he would not change his match pattern no matter what and he never understood how to work a mic... He was very good at what he did... but he never did much to evolve...
i actually agree with alot of what he says here regarding bret hart, in the ring he was obviously one of the best ever but on the mic he was boring and had little to no personality. Ive also watched bret harts wwe biography dvd and by the end of it i thought he was abit of an arrogant dick so i couldnt imagine what it would be like working with him
Bret Hart is my favorite wrestler of all time but I'm not a mark fanboy; I actually have LOGIC. So many of you marks are shitting on Justin simply because he wasn't a big star. So... what exactly does that have to do with his perspective of someone's attitude?
My favorite Justin Credible match was... oh wait he sucks and ive never seen him wrestle because his generation destroyed the business that Undertaker, Michaels, Hart, Austin, HHH, Rock and Mick Foley created. Brett wasnt against the "attitude" era, he was against the bra and panties matches, the "kidnapping" of stephanie mcmahon by the ministry or whatever that was. all those stupid gimmicks. and look he was right. i stopped watching along w/ millions of others. @SlippersFuzzy Because this kind of opinion of Bret is the exception, and not the norm. I think this guy has some kind of personal beef with Bret Hart that he's really not elaborating on here.

@SlippersFuzzy Bret has a devoted fan base; what else can I tell you. And it's not hard to understand why, considering the nature of his career and what went down at Survivor Series. (1) Im a huge Bret Hart fan, But I like this video for one reason, This guy is telling what he thinks or is his version of the truth, Let's face it Bret isn't Jesusfor christ sake, not everyone can like the guy, But I do think when he was talking about Bret being serious and shit he looked at that as a bad thing by the way he sounded, I kinda take that as a god thing, you have to remember Bret grew up in wrestling pretty much, It was the family business, so ya he's going to be dead serious cont>
you can tell he had personal grudge against bret. but really that what bret really is. he is an introvert. you can really tell from his aura. but he is more professional than any of the kliq. yes i believe he is a jerk but nobody in that era got more heat than the members of the kliq. bret jobbed to shawn and shawn refused to job to bret. whose the douchebag now? thats why the undertaker threaten shawn michaels to job to scsa because if he didnt he will never wrestle again lol.
This guy is just upset because the Kliq used him as a gimp. When x-pac was sick, this guy stepped in as there Gimp. He's still bitter about it. His ass still hurts.
Bret will always be one of my favourite wrestlers. No question about it. But just by reading his book and watching his DVD, you can tell this isn't a lie. Bret is a huge mark for himself and seemed like a bit of a douchebag.
@natey2k4 I re-stumbled upon this video going through YT wrestling shoots. I posted my thoughts on this video a year ago and have had several pissed off responses from Hart fans bc I sided with Credible.
I didn't mention this bc it would be misconstrued as the reason for my dislike, but I met Bret by pure chance in Las Vegas. We were in a lobby and I said hi, and told him I loved his match with Perfect (which ive always said, despite my criticisms.)
@natey2k4 ....he gives off this uncomfortable vibe. You can tell he's not a people person. He doesn't smile or give off any friendly expressions, so when he's looking at you, it's like you're getting stared down.
Other people have made similar comments in their meetings with Bret. He is very arrogant, but also very standoffish which undoubtedly rubs a lot of people the wrong way.
one of the ugliest guys in wrestlin history. wow, the weak genetics are shining through in the twilight. what he says, i neither agree nor disagree with.
Just because this guy was not famous doesn't mean that his perspective is stupid. You fanboys are so ghey. What, in order to have your opinion mean something in wrasslin', you have to have been popular? Bullshit. Justin was backstage and saw shit we didn't see. If you wanna rag on him cos he sucked, then do so. But ragging on his perspective about Hart simply because he wasn't popular is ghey.
@TheDucciano I think the hostility towards his perspective comes from the fact that he was more or less Shawn Michaels' 'boy' so of course he's going to have that view. But I think the general consensus from guys who were in the WWF at the time would tell a much different story. Including Shawn.
@TheDucciano Fan boys love to complain and say anyone not famous can't complain even though they live in their moms basement and can't even do a suplex, by their logic doesn't that mean they can't talk either?
@guyverrob You've offered a dumb argument too. Just because you live in your parent's basement doesn't mean that your opinion on wrestling is unwarranted: I can't bake a cake to save my life. But I can tell you when a German chocolate cake tastes like shit. My point? You don't have to be able to do the thing you are criticizing.
@guyverrob Maybe. But I responded to what you wrote, not what you think you meant. What you wrote doesn't hold. What you think you meant...well, I don't know - I can't read your mind, just your words, dude. So either re-word your thoughts more intelligibly or stfu. Not trying to be a dickhead.
It's just his opinion. He has every right to it. God forbid someone has a negative view on the almighty Bret Hart, and I'm a Bret fan. I heard Bret back in the day was rude to many of the jobbers
"Hello, how's everyone doing tonight? I'm going to be your server tonight, my name is PJ. Might I start anyone off with some complimentary wine or breadsticks?"
@tna420wrestling Read his book. Bret was far from straight edge. He did not do as much drugs as HBK and Scott Hall but he did do a lot. He smoked weed many times, drank all the time and even did coke a few times. He also had a lot of woman in his life.
Dude, Bret Hart was nowhere near being Straightedge. To the guy's credit, he wasn't hopelessly addicted to drugs and alcohol; but that doesn't mean he didn't do them neither.
justin credible is garbage he wishes he had a body like bret, when i see this guy it reminds me of a drunk guy who smoke alot of crystal meth and needs vitamins cause he looks unhealthy
unfortunetely, i can believe all of what he has said. in fact, most the wrestlers i enjoy wrestling as a kid and now i think are dicks/pricks/twats. taker, rock, austin, hhh.... the only two i can say aren't pricks and having got a malicious bone in their body are foley and jacobs. austin seldom jobbed to anyone(refused to job to hhh at SS99 hence foley winning to drop the belt),taker is a snitch ratting on punk, rock is now the hogan of his era, coming back for huge payoffs then doing one!!
@chshaw87 hows taker a dick. he followed the biz with a keen eye and when his time came he took the ball and ran with it. he was booked well and he was a legend in the locker room. everyone enjoyed working with him.
@CopyPasteWarrior well, amongst other things, he was one of the main culprits of the invasion angle failing by not selling ANYTHING!! he was, according to foley's first book, responsible for the failure of shane douglas in wwf. i'm not saying douglas was the next kurt angle or anything but still.
and more recently, talking to punk more recently in private about adopting a more presentable champion image by buying suits.and then going to the mcmahons like a snitch. "he compared himself to cena!"
@chshaw87 I am going to call BS. The main reason for Shane Douglas failing in WWE was the Klique. HBK obviously didnt want to job to him and they also had legit heat ever since he hit Michaels head really hard on the steel steps during a RAW. Kliq and Kliq alone was the reason Dean Douglas had a piss poor run in WWE. Oh and the gimmick sucked too. The punk story is a little after my time and I have no idea if he'd shoot like that about the locker room leader. If he did say it, its def worked.
@CopyPasteWarrior no.... phil brooks didn't come out and say "taker snitched on me" it was all over the net and reputable sources that he went to punk in private and said why not invest in some suits to make yourself look more like a champion. (wwe has been enforcing independent contractors to wear suits/casual smart since like 04/05) punk responded with, something along the lines of, "why should i have to when cena doesn't wear suits" taker snitched....punk lost the belt to taker at HIAC 09.
Maybe Bret just knew Aldo was trying to suck up to the Clique by washing their jockstraps and then wearing it on his head. Also what good can come out of a Credible/Montoya match. One of the worst ECW champs.
Sure is some serious butthurt here from Bret Hart markboys. PJ was in WWE with Bret for over 3 years on the road. He sure knows the guy better than any keyboard warrior typing here. Have any of you been around Bret personally? NO. It's a shoot interview. He was asked a question about Bret, and he answered it honestly from his own personal experience. Sorry it wasn't the praise you wanted to hear about your Canadian hero but that's fucking life.
@mrbigblacknutz actually, the HBK markboys that live on youtube go everywhere whining about Bret for some reason. If those two can patch it up, it's time for you to deal with it too. Life goes on. Sounds that Justin redible's butt hurt about Bret not fawning over him. He needs to get over it too.
@mrbigblacknutz love that name justin credible. i love bret but i bet there is truth when your on top and when bret got into a real fight with hbk, one had to go theres no room for two primadonnas.
@mrbigblacknutz I agree. I've also heard a story where a kid who was a bret hart fan approach him when he was WWF Champion asking for his autograph in a hotel lobby once and he told the kid to get lost or something very rude. Which I couldn't see Bret doing that to a kid maybe a grown man but not some random kid fan.
Peter Polaco would still be the guy wearing a jockstrap on his face if it wasn't for Paul Heyman. Even with all the hype that Heyman is a master of creating back in the day, I thought Justin Credible was an average character at best, and slightly overrated.
huge bret fan, but he makes a lot of sense with what he's saying. i can see bret being everything aldo montoya has stated. bret really thought he was better than everyone.
Today attitude era isn't helping WWE. They're trying to get back as family-friendly.Fans getting shifted to MMA and UFC. Shawn refused to drop to austin and he is telling good about him. what a joke??? Didn't he know that Bret carried the business during 1992-95 while WWE filled with steroid and sex scandals?!! Take a look at WWE International sold out tours during Bret's regime. He might be a part of clique.WWE running out of story line because they have no more gas in attitude era.
@Mark1379 Tell The truth bro, no matter if you a top card or a low card bert the hitman hart get credit he is worker that make the match look good he belive in making him and others look good in a match thats why I watch his matches, shawn micheals the guy is a great wrestler he just thanks he can run shit like he own the biz really he dont say like he did vader I was like a kid not a pro in that match
Right Aldo, that's why Bret went out of his way to help The Rock, he wanted to help elevate Austin because he believed that guy was deserving of everything, he would give his all in matches whether he was wrestling a top tier talent or a nobody. Hell, as a world champ Bret worked with some of the low carders and jobbers, just to help make them better. When you have a better roster you have a better company.
Justin credible talking shit about Bret Hart is like....Me talking shit about Bret Hart. Go back to the olive garden you no talent un charismatic moron. Your like the Evan Bourne of your day Justin.
Justin Credible who? Now how does this guy feel he can even comment in a guy like Bret Hart when he can't even come close to lacing Bret's boots. What a fucking joke.
@bull864 ur such a mark...i met almost every wrestle a wrestlers my dad I get free back stage every wwe show...so stupid marks..wrestlings all AAcTIng
zzzzzzzz.... who TF cares what Justin Credible has to say about Bret Hart? Different leagues. The top guys were too busy making real careers and drawing big money so guys like this got paid. JC was talented, but he couldn't sell out a high school gym at the top of the card.
Of course Bret believed his tag line. Of course it wasn't just a gimmick. Bret took what he did seriously, that's why he was a five time WWF Champion in a time when the belt meant something more than just being a prop. It meant you were the highest paid guy in the company and the best at what you did. As good as they were, there is a reason Hennig, Razor, Owen,Luger, Bigelow, Jake Roberts, DiBiase, and Piper never held that title. Bret worked alonside all of them and surpassed them.
This guy is a moron. Not saying bret wasn't rude to him, but from everything I've heard, Shawn Michaels was one of the biggest dickheads around back in the 90's. Hell, Steve Austin said so in his book and had nothing but praise for Hart. Bret was old school and this douche (and the klique) didn't give a damn about the business...just pushing the envelope. Besides, the only one of the klique members that was worth a damn was Michaels (when he was sober). The rest used politics to get a push.
I'm a huge Bret Hart fan but I know Bret can be a dick sometimes. I heard Bret shrugged off a fan wanting his autograph in a mall. And when I met Bret a few years back he stared a whole right through me. But I still love Bret cuz he strived to be the best and he proved it night after night.
Have you read his book? He did a little coke here and there yeah does not make him a dope head lmfao. Your typing your comment like he was drinking booze with pain killers with a little cocaine to send him to bed lmfao.
@2WIREG Um yeah, I have his book right here next to me and if you believe it was just a little here and there, then you must believe that Hogan's steroid use was just to combat injuries. Bret also mentions pot, booze and steroids. In my opinion, if you were doing it like the rest of the boys were, you're a dopehead. There is no such thing as a little coke here and there. Take it from someone who has made his mistakes with cocaine. It wasn't just a little here and there. No such thing.
Ive been in the indy scene for just over a year, so Ive basically worked with the same group of guys every show. I know who I can talk to for advice, I know who NOT to talk to....but when someone who has been a mid-card performer talks down on the "center-stage" star....just means he is disappointed in his own accomplishments. Dont hate.
BRET WAS A JERK TO YOU BECAUSE WRESTLERS LIKE YOU WERE A JERK TO THE BUSINESS........Its a%holes like you "hardcore bull" the made wrestling totally unreal and left it nowhere to go. As for the attitude era it was designed for a bunch of losers in their 20s and 30s and kept the supply of kids from watching like i had the opportunity to do in the late 80's as a 9 or 10 year old kid. Bottom line THE HARDCORE/ATTITUDE era ruined the business..Grow up and give it back to the kids..for the rest UFC
@nick0mac are you serious? if it wasnt for the attitude era wwe would have been dead and wcw wouldve ruled. they didnt do it for the 20-30 yearolds they did it because they were at a war with wcw for ratings. know your facts dont spout some bullshit you cock sucking weasel fucker
@AnarchY24100 ive found he can be hot and cold he can be a great guy but a asshole at times also maybe it was just one of those days for him were did you work with him and what indy do you work for man
@AnarchY24100 sorry man it sucks when you look forward to meeting someone and they are dicks i hear he using again and thats when he sucks to be around to bad because hes a good shit most of the time and he should still be making real money because he has talent but when you dont stay clean it can go to shit fast best of luck to you man thanks for the chat
@AnarchY24100 As if he has to do those things, like you're somehow entitled to a firm handshake from him. Maybe he just didn't wanna talk? Ever think of that? Of course not because he's gotta be on for people like you all the time. Be wiling and ready to shake every hand that comes his way, etc. You know, I do pretty much the exact same thing in a social situation 9 times out of 10 and I fail see how not wanting to socialize makes somebody an asshole
wow a member of the kliq sitting there putting down bret hart and glorifying shawn micheals I never thought this would happen *jerking motion* get ur ass back to the undercard Aldo Montoya
I've never been a big Bret fan, but the Canada vs. US angle was fucking sheer genius and that could've easily have been a huge money maker for WWF. Stone cold was obviously gonna be a huge star and Bret and Shawn were both in the market to be the heels for him to get over on. It could've worked either way, but Vince chose to go with Shawn. Who knows how Bret vs. SC could've ended up, they already had some badass fucking matches, one of the best in my opinion was the one at WM13.
Mr. Charisma here shouldn't be calling people names. OFC he's going to kiss Shawn's ass.. see if people like Vader have the same opinion of Shawn being this cool, approachable guy back in that era.
I mean lets leave justins comments about bret alone. He unlike most of us fans of his actually knew and spoke to him. If he doesnt like bret then let him not like bret. I personally dont care who likes or dislikes bret. To me hes the greatest pro wrestler ever.
Not the first time I've heard someone say that about Brett. I will say that Brett was generic as a face but as a heel for the Hart Foundation (with a reunited Owen and Bulldog) he was GREAT. He got some serious heat everywhere he went when he had that USA vs. Canada feud. It wasn't a very long stint as that uber heel but that was Brett at his best in which he was engaging in the ring and on the mic.
What the fuck does Justin not-so-credible know about Bret Hart??? During the time not-credible is talking about he wasn't in the WWF. I don't understand how he knows about Bret Hart? I like how he said that Bret was "small"....duh.....
Bret was probably a dick to him because he was boys with the cliq... Or maybe Bret was kind of a dick anyway, although I'm guessing it was because he was boys with HBK and those guys... But I do believe what he says
Both Bret and Shawn were arrogant, the big difference is Michaels didn't seem to take his "character" seriously, Hart truly believe he was some sort of god for little kids everywhere, Michaels may have tried to hold me back. but he was most likely more fun to be around then Bret.
Lmao at all the Bret marks getting offended. This man traveled with him and knows how he was back then more than ANY of us will ever. I Respect the mans opinion.
Justin Credible you suck and your a dick. Bret tells the truth people say that if bret had his way then the attitude era would never of happened...You lot seem to forget that bret was perhaps the one who started it and when he had his match with steve austin at WM the attitude era was born bret would of been awesome in the attitude era he just didn't like the porn that was coming into a family entertainment show..Bret had respect for his fans other wrestlers just didn't give a toss
Credible has no right to even think Bret Hart's name. Saying Bret was pompous, he had every right to be just like every WWE/F main eventer obviously is. You make it that far, you got the right to act however you want towards an opener
This motherfucker looks like Nosferatu!

Bret will always be one of my favourite wrestlers. No question about it. But just by reading his book and watching his DVD, you can tell this isn't a lie. Bret is a huge mark for himself and seemed like a bit of a douchebag.
natey2k4 3 months ago
@natey2k4 I re-stumbled upon this video going through YT wrestling shoots. I posted my thoughts on this video a year ago and have had several pissed off responses from Hart fans bc I sided with Credible.
I didn't mention this bc it would be misconstrued as the reason for my dislike, but I met Bret by pure chance in Las Vegas. We were in a lobby and I said hi, and told him I loved his match with Perfect (which ive always said, despite my criticisms.)
He wasn't rude, but.......
StuUngar 2 months ago
@natey2k4 ....he gives off this uncomfortable vibe. You can tell he's not a people person. He doesn't smile or give off any friendly expressions, so when he's looking at you, it's like you're getting stared down.
Other people have made similar comments in their meetings with Bret. He is very arrogant, but also very standoffish which undoubtedly rubs a lot of people the wrong way.

TheDucciano 3 months ago 11
@TheDucciano I think the hostility towards his perspective comes from the fact that he was more or less Shawn Michaels' 'boy' so of course he's going to have that view. But I think the general consensus from guys who were in the WWF at the time would tell a much different story. Including Shawn.
Rimbaud1531 3 weeks ago
@TheDucciano Fan boys love to complain and say anyone not famous can't complain even though they live in their moms basement and can't even do a suplex, by their logic doesn't that mean they can't talk either?
guyverrob 4 days ago
@guyverrob You've offered a dumb argument too. Just because you live in your parent's basement doesn't mean that your opinion on wrestling is unwarranted: I can't bake a cake to save my life. But I can tell you when a German chocolate cake tastes like shit. My point? You don't have to be able to do the thing you are criticizing.
TheDucciano 3 days ago
@TheDucciano You completely missed the point, please don't reply back.

@guyverrob Maybe. But I responded to what you wrote, not what you think you meant. What you wrote doesn't hold. What you think you meant...well, I don't know - I can't read your mind, just your words, dude. So either re-word your thoughts more intelligibly or stfu. Not trying to be a dickhead.

tna420wrestling 4 months ago
@tna420wrestling Read his book. Bret was far from straight edge. He did not do as much drugs as HBK and Scott Hall but he did do a lot. He smoked weed many times, drank all the time and even did coke a few times. He also had a lot of woman in his life.

Dude, Bret Hart was nowhere near being Straightedge. To the guy's credit, he wasn't hopelessly addicted to drugs and alcohol; but that doesn't mean he didn't do them neither.

dru713281 5 months ago
unfortunetely, i can believe all of what he has said. in fact, most the wrestlers i enjoy wrestling as a kid and now i think are dicks/pricks/twats. taker, rock, austin, hhh.... the only two i can say aren't pricks and having got a malicious bone in their body are foley and jacobs. austin seldom jobbed to anyone(refused to job to hhh at SS99 hence foley winning to drop the belt),taker is a snitch ratting on punk, rock is now the hogan of his era, coming back for huge payoffs then doing one!!
chshaw87 5 months ago
@chshaw87 hows taker a dick. he followed the biz with a keen eye and when his time came he took the ball and ran with it. he was booked well and he was a legend in the locker room. everyone enjoyed working with him.
CopyPasteWarrior 4 months ago
@CopyPasteWarrior well, amongst other things, he was one of the main culprits of the invasion angle failing by not selling ANYTHING!! he was, according to foley's first book, responsible for the failure of shane douglas in wwf. i'm not saying douglas was the next kurt angle or anything but still.
and more recently, talking to punk more recently in private about adopting a more presentable champion image by buying suits.and then going to the mcmahons like a snitch. "he compared himself to cena!"
chshaw87 4 months ago
@chshaw87 I am going to call BS. The main reason for Shane Douglas failing in WWE was the Klique. HBK obviously didnt want to job to him and they also had legit heat ever since he hit Michaels head really hard on the steel steps during a RAW. Kliq and Kliq alone was the reason Dean Douglas had a piss poor run in WWE. Oh and the gimmick sucked too. The punk story is a little after my time and I have no idea if he'd shoot like that about the locker room leader. If he did say it, its def worked.
CopyPasteWarrior 4 months ago
@CopyPasteWarrior no.... phil brooks didn't come out and say "taker snitched on me" it was all over the net and reputable sources that he went to punk in private and said why not invest in some suits to make yourself look more like a champion. (wwe has been enforcing independent contractors to wear suits/casual smart since like 04/05) punk responded with, something along the lines of, "why should i have to when cena doesn't wear suits" taker snitched....punk lost the belt to taker at HIAC 09.
chshaw87 4 months ago
@chshaw87 Boy are you gullible for believing a lousy internet rumor, even if it is true I hardly see how it amounts too snitching.

When you have a better roster you have a better company.

aitraining 9 months ago
Of course Bret believed his tag line. Of course it wasn't just a gimmick. Bret took what he did seriously, that's why he was a five time WWF Champion in a time when the belt meant something more than just being a prop. It meant you were the highest paid guy in the company and the best at what you did. As good as they were, there is a reason Hennig, Razor, Owen,Luger, Bigelow, Jake Roberts, DiBiase, and Piper never held that title. Bret worked alonside all of them and surpassed them.
13strobe 9 months ago
This guy is a moron. Not saying bret wasn't rude to him, but from everything I've heard, Shawn Michaels was one of the biggest dickheads around back in the 90's. Hell, Steve Austin said so in his book and had nothing but praise for Hart. Bret was old school and this douche (and the klique) didn't give a damn about the business...just pushing the envelope. Besides, the only one of the klique members that was worth a damn was Michaels (when he was sober). The rest used politics to get a push.
bull864 9 months ago
I'm a huge Bret Hart fan but I know Bret can be a dick sometimes. I heard Bret shrugged off a fan wanting his autograph in a mall. And when I met Bret a few years back he stared a whole right through me. But I still love Bret cuz he strived to be the best and he proved it night after night.

2WIREG 7 months ago
@2WIREG Um yeah, I have his book right here next to me and if you believe it was just a little here and there, then you must believe that Hogan's steroid use was just to combat injuries. Bret also mentions pot, booze and steroids. In my opinion, if you were doing it like the rest of the boys were, you're a dopehead. There is no such thing as a little coke here and there. Take it from someone who has made his mistakes with cocaine. It wasn't just a little here and there. No such thing.
