Awesome,passionate and still one of my favourite performences of any X-Factor show and i loved how much of a controlled vocal it was.Laura White's voice was powerful but very much all over the place and far from controlled.It was her verion of Always that let her down though,didnt suit her at all but lets not forget how good Knocking on heavens door and Love aint here anymore was!

she has an amazing tone to her voice, and very sudctive. I repeat as ive done many times before,she shouldve fought out the final two that year, its a joke that she went before her time.

One of the best voices in UK X factor history for me, and didnt get what she deserved,if only she was English or the public had some taste she couldve gone all the way

Okay for a start, Ruth sung this in 2008 and because of this performance, Purple Rain has been sung every year on X Factor. This is considered one of the best sing off performances in all 8 years of X Factor.

Also, this is live. Stacy Francis's version is not. It was pre-recorded and you can tell because of the backing track. Stacy's version is amazing but sorry, Ruth's Purple Rain is outstanding.
