This is not Jimi doing the Pixies. It's the other way around, the Pixies did this song several years ago. Hendrix died around 1970. So the Pixies did not write the song, they took it fom hendrix. I don't think this is someone "imitating" Hendrix -- it's more likely cobbling together and remastering Hendrix's music to compose something that sounds like Vamos. The Simpson's bit in the solo was a little corny, though.

For the doubters, think about this: almost every musician has played pretty much any note, take them discretely and you can have Black Sabbath playing Britney Spears tunes if you wish.
