  • Love those Nikes! I used to have a pair of those back in the day.

  • Dont gas stations have a machine for this so called deadly compression job

  • I run the retaining pins backwards so that the blunt end/lip help hold the spring a little better.

  • One video from expert village that I can say was informative. The others to me a just no use sometimes.

  • i found you can just release teh middle nut and use the weight of the car to safely compress and decompress it

  • It's awesome that the strut is an all-in-one piece car part. My car's front struts and coils are over a decade old so I could just remove the bolts and then throw the struts away and replace it with a new one without having to disassemble the old one. :]

  • i just loosen the strut mount bolt whille its still attached to the car

  • those things are deadly i wont touch them with a fllor mounted safty spring removal unit

  • Expertvillage needs to learn to set up playlists. No idea what order these should be in and all the relateds are "Replacing front struts on a front-wheel drive v..."

  • yes..that looks kinda dangerous if you are careless.Thanx for the info.

    jP

  • ford probe forever

  • @cheshirej100 it is still quite risky to decompress the springs like that. much safer to use compressors and no1 could get hurt then. They're really cheap as well

  • oooooooo fuck you in todos los videos

  • Oh fuck, Not this guy again!

Hey expertvillage, make a single video about every topic... not like 10 videos with the same introduction and the same boring people.

  • lol spring compressors who needs these just wack the bolt of u paranoid faggot, in my opinion i think these are more dangerous becasue if something goes wrong you then have three flying lumps of metal too avoid.

  • @cheshirej100 why dont you do us a favor and be the one that tries to just whack the bolt off. i dare you to try to take apart and reassemble a strut assembly without the macpherson strut spring compressor.......also, youtube it or it didnt happen.

  • The only problem i always have is getting the strut to go back on the vehicle, its always to long. The spring compressors never want to fit in the fender. Any ideas?

  • Well what would safety glasses do for you if that spring came off? Nothing because you wouldn't have a head anymore so no worries about the eyes.

  • @dmgcat HAHAHAHAHA

  • @dmgcat not really, if its a bentley continental then i completely agree, or any other such type of vehicle, but if its a small nissan micra then if it was to come off then the most of what would happen would just be a strong jolt to the chin. at the most knocking yourself out, and thats only if you where to completely jam your chin against the actual strut.

  • @iarhungry you mean lincoln continental... lol

  • @Jerz0neMUSICC you in engalnd?!

  • Comment removed

  • He talks about how dangerous changing the spring is yet wears no safety glasses. LOL otherwise pretty good video.

  • OK... Are you in Nashville? I'll bring my trucks to you to work on if you're there or anywhere nearby?

  • I'm an expert on taking things apart but I can't say that about putting things back together :(

  • @cddragonslayer lmfao! im with you

  • Nice job!

  • That is crappy american suspension right there!

  • @TS6DK And your mama is one of those crappy foreign jobs!!!

  • @ericbofcarsonc Thanks for the comment retard.

  • @TS6DK anytime inbred.... Anytime...

  • good video..except i can never find the next step in sequence...

  • gdixon235, are you jealous you don't have any skills in life? Go get a Mechanical Engineering degree or something and join everyone else in the real world where we know what we are doing!

  • Good video, nice to see someone putting safety first.

  • lol ya at the same time hes wearing nikes and no safety glasses.......hehe!

  • Good instruction, but spring energy is called elastic potential energy. Either way, it seems the key here it to ensure you have tightened the spring enough to relieve the pressure on the end caps so that you don't create a bad day for yourself.

  • NERDD

  • I'd like to see a video for replacing the springs with center shocks and using the center 'single compressor'. I have not used one before. Anyone know of a video for this?

  • Can't help on suggestion.

  • nice vid, cheers. can now look for some struts on my lancer.

  • good stuff buddy

  • haha rockin the cortez !

  • Very educative...i need this service for a ford ranger 95
