For about two months after the quake, the Canadian military did an outstanding job of running the airport; temporary tower, high intensity lights, etc.; they've now pulled out and airport is uncontrolled. 118.5 freq., VFR only (IFR only into P au P as far as I know in Haiti so far), and the last two trips in I've been hit with $50 landing fee + freight charge to bring in humanitarian aid... too bad, but things seem to be going back to normal. What used to be a busy airport is now slow again.

Was there any sort of Tower service or information facility? Did you fly VFR or IFR?
