It's either SS or SSJ. It's a preference. SS means Super Saiyan. SSJ means Super Saiyajin, which is what Saiyans were called in Japan.

The reason why goku hair is not yellow like his other SS forms because,When a sayian becomes SS4 he is close to monkey form then ever before(since this is the last SS form) so basically its a calm state of monkey form.Because sayians come from a monkey wouldnt you think the last form would be a monkey(kind of reasonable when you think about it).
