  • thanks to this program so good and big help to my son who play drum

  • these series are actually good!

  • I was gonna watch the video but then, i saw it was from expertvillage.

  • this is how I learned double stroke rolls. the pillow is the best way. I searched youtube for double stoke guides and everyone does them on heads or those real feel pads. this is the only guide that teaches the correct way. A plus! :)

  • thnks bro!i'll try it.

  • I've been stressing about doubles, but I can go faster than this dude practising on a pillow. Bout the same speed he went at the end playing singles. :-)

  • @markod2002

i dont think he is showing off, and im pretty sure he can go faster than that.

  • Doubles with wrist on a pillow = WIN

Press roll on a pad = WIN

Doubles with fingers on a pillow = FAIL

Can anyone help? I don't see how I'm supposed to use my fingers for the second hit when there's no bounce.

  • @miketwo345 just play two consecutive strokes on each hand using ur fingers. Ur not letting the rebound do the work like a normal double stroke roll, it would be more like the equivalent of doing a double stroke at a really slow speed when ur just playing each stroke

  • Nahh . People Use The Finger Techniques This Just Ruins Your Drumming. He aint a Teacher .

  • expert village can suck my dick.

  • This is good for beginners!!

  • if u wanna get fast use finger techniques dont listen to this fag

  • @silentologist True . Fingers Make You Go Faster .

  • ye...sure ....that is kinda finger control btw...

  • great lessons!

    thanks!

  • fuck it im suck

  • i made 2 videos of drum on a pillow and the sound is incredible

  • If your really want a challenge,, Try using oversized sticks, like the ones in a drum core

  • Lol, a pillow.. that's funny xD. But I'm gonna do that like he says. Good advice.

  • ohh shit ur good

  • PS god damn your shirt is da bomb

  • hey man, when performing doubles do you use your fingers as well as your wrist to strengthen the second double?(so wrist up fingers out after first hit then wrist down fingers closed for the second) because i find i lose momentum on the second stroke as i get faster when just using my wrist. i ask because i dont want to waiste hours on a combo technique which might not give me the as good results as just using my wrist.

Any feed back from any drummers out there would be more than welcome too!

  • you use both wrist and fingers if you do match stick grasp the stick tightly with the thumb and the index(pointing) finger let your remaining fingers be loose and just close your hand to catch your stick for the second hit in the double stroke

  • all drummers strength is from the bottom half of your arm and your wrist .They dont use there upper arms and shoulders

  • yaa listen to what jessemickyd said, not biosrios..although generally alot of the movement does come from the wrists, but when able to utilize the movement of the forearms upper arms/shoulders, you'll be able to develop proper form of the moeller stroke,(all with right instruction) which is the most common sense approach to playing drums, with least effort, and best drum sound, get JoJo Mayer's Secret Weapons for the Modern Drummer

  • if you hav one, use a temperpedic (i think i spelled that wrong) pillow

  • i dunno about you guys that keep complaining how this exercise is worthless.. it actually helped me by bringing my stick up and not, as Jason said, digging in your snare drum.. it also made my weaker hand a bit better

i mean if it wouldn't help why would he or any other drummer that showed this exercise suggest it or show it...

some of us aren't pros from birth as some ppl here think they are...

Thanks a lot for the vids here they really helped me with my playing

    take care

  • rubbish ..

  • This is something fun to do when your watching tv doing nothing.... now

  • He's not developing, he's destroying them. Your wrists are a mixture of fast and slow twitching muscles, keep them that way.

Only do strength training for your forearms and upper arms/shoulders.

This defeats the whole purposes of loose/relaxed playing with rebound and a better feel of how to hit drums. Don't listen to expert village!

  • but then you want to do a drum roll hitting each stick twice and you cant because your non dominant wrist isnt fast enough to go with your dominant hand. BECAUSE ITS WEAK.

  • Though this seems like a good exercise, when you're doing a double stroke roll at higher speeds, it doesn't much matter how strong or fast your non dominant wrist is, because you rely mostly on the rebound of the stick to get the second hit, not on your wrist.

  • Yea like jerking off.

  • This guy doesn't know anything about what he's talking about lol.

The actually physicality of this is - that he's loosing speed and actually tightening up and unrelaxed the "more" he developes his wrist.

  • strengthening your wrists, yes true, but if you regularly practice like this and then go to the drums, youll have to now learn to accept the rebound

  • You wouldn't just only practice on a pillow if you want to play drums

  • thats funny that he thinks he's using two wirst movements when he actually doing the right technique and grabbing with his fingers. if you watch when he speeds up his doubles the wrist on right hand is only making one mvement because he's using a technique that he hasn't explained

  • i've been doin that....but everytime i tried to double or do it in a higher tempo....i can't sustain the beat anymore....and i do the muscle in my left hand....too bad....i only get into 180bps in doin that doubles in a sustained tempo...but actually that will help to all new drummers other.....try to master singles and doubles or regret it if you wont try to....hehe...thanx man....you're awesome i see how u grip same as my favorite drummer jojo mayer...thanx alot.....cheers!

  • An lufeet muh aman! !

  • great help.
