and o yeah "dangerous" YET thousands of life threatening and deathly attacks a day on humans by pet dogs ???? explain to me once again how there dangerous and your not just an idiot
it was walking away and you chased it witch provoked it you fuckin handy cap and there not dangerous you are more likely to be struck by lightning then attacked there are maybe 2 attacks a year on humans by wolves and coyotes and it usually due to the animal being sick or provoked as i said there nothing dangerous do your research its people like you who give them a bad name
This is why coyotes can be so dangerous. In the snow anything that moves is a potential meal, and they will keep coming until they get a bite out of you. Fantastic creatures, but you have to take them kind of serious.
@MICHELLEEVANS33 First off it is a coyote, not a wolf. Secondly wolves, coyotes and animals are amazing, beautiful creatures and its ok not to like them but calling them ugly is ignorant and dismissive. If you don't like animals don't waste your time watching them on youtube.
I had one do the same to me, But it had rabies and barley any hair, drooling and snarling at me.. It wasnt cute either, ugly little fucker. lookied like he wanted to bite my nipple off or something.so i put him into a choker hold and shot em between the eyes.. haha jk. - the chokhold part... Coyoetes can get mean. Cool video tho man. Not too often that you get one to play with you like that
It does the opposite i can finnaly see that it's so claer like dont get closer and he came closer XD If u ever meet a coyote like this Tell it the opposite and not the un-opposite!
That's a pretty cool video man. And I'll be honest, I've never met anybody from Canada. I always thought that the 'Eh' thing was just a stereotype that Americans made up. But you helped me out with that.
i was at rouse mountain in vancouver bc and getting changed in the parking lot and timber wolf came out of the forest like 10 ft away i didnt tell it to shoo sometimes wildlife if a thing of beauty and they are just as curious as we are, great video
common I'd have none of that and If 15 of his friends came out to play Eh eh wouldnt work. I prefer the Eh Bang Eh Bang with my 10mm or .45 just so his friends understand their buddy who said watch this and IIll be back with some Canadien bacon shortly wouldnt come anytwhere near me...
You were taunting him. Calling him to you then saying "stop it" -- Really?? He is a beautiful animal. Wouldn't it be real justice if we are someday treated as we have treated animals!
Didn't read the description and was like "Where this at?"
But then I heard "get owt" and (the nail the in the coffin) "Eh"
In all seriousness, you should just went barreling towards it and shouted "Let's do this....*epic pause* LEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRROOOOOOYYYYYY NNNNNJJJJJEEEEENNNNNNNNNNNKKKKKKIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Would have made this video 999999999999x times better
He's def not rabid or he'd do more damage. He'd kill your dog or cat if he had the chance. Most likely, he's hungry. Too bad you Canadians don't believe in guns. I'd have a nice coyote fur rug in front of the fireplace by now.
a cool specimen, possible small gray wolf/coyote cross, but the signs of aggression just are not there, so in short, entertaining but like the dog, I'm not biting on the word "attack" peace........
Yikes that was strange behavior for just one Coyote, most of the time their buddies are helping to circle around some prey. I would have been concerned that little critter had been bitten by a rabid bat or something very weird.
I would be less confident with any wild animal. Say you to accidentally slip and fall ? It takes a second for an agil wild coyote to leap and dive at your jugular? It's freezing and he's hungry. Wild animals don't play at hunting, rather they hunt around for food that may save their life. Let's say he does nip you and you knock him silly, what if he's got rabies, cause he sure was actin strange? Now you're takin in a 12 inch hypodermic in the bellie each week for a long stretch.....no fun.
@kcougar12 a girl from Ontario was killed in Nova Scotia in 2009: Taylor Mitchell, a 19-year-old Toronto singer whose debut album was released in March, has died in a Nova Scotia hospital after being mauled by coyotes in a Cape Breton park.
Mitchell was hiking Tuesday on the Skyline Trail in Cape Breton Highlands National Park when she was attacked by two coyotes. Another hiker, who was walking nearby, heard her cries for help and called 911.
@originalrecoil Oh yea, that was 30 minutes from my house. Those coyotes however were massive wolf/coyote hybrids and there were two of them. That was the ONLY documented coyote fatality on earth, other than an infant.
@kcougar12 - agreed. true coyotes aren't normally a threat. but the eastern coyotes or Coywolves - that have some red or grey wolf DNA - can be. they show wolf-like traits - large size, hunting in packs, combined with the coyote's adaptability and fearlessness of man. they kill a lot of livestock in Ontario and the Maritimes.
Clearly a pet. My dog plays much the same way, but Chompy McPsycho would never pass for a coyote...
The actual wild yotes around here never travel alone, or come close to us in the open. If one came after me like that, I would have to assume it was rabid and shoot it.
@MillwaterPublishing It probably lives close to a wildlife reserve or something where tourists use to feed it. It was clearly not domesticated, but used to humans. By the looks of it, it was trying to play with him.
So...I think it's a pretty important lesson we all learned here. If ever in a one on one showdown with a coyote, "hey" is not a very effective defense.
No but raising your arms and look "bigger" and scream like a mad man (and charge) does the job. 90% of dogs will flee when I do that stuff....will even stop them mid charge.
@hgmc828 nah he was just palying aorund if he was rabit he would have straight up attacked him no fear at all just jump and would have kept running at him full speed
Here in PA I have a yote that follows me on my quad as close as 10 feet away. Hes not always there but he has been there a half dozen times or so. He dont come close to me when i get off the quad. Quite strange.......
Pretty sure that Coyote lost its fear of humans (or that's what it looks like) if you like him & wanna continue playing with him that's cool... as long as you know before hand that he's not planning on giving back fingers, hands, facial features or male body parts... but if you have children, elderly, or drunk people at the camp it's your duty to put the fear back into him... even if it kills him... I'd say get a decently weighted stick at least a foot long to carry with you... Great Vid though
You can say he's beautiful, or whatever.... I don't like them, and here, in Northern Ontario they're just a pain in the ass! I'm sure they're not a native species, but an invasive one! I quite prefer wolves, myself!
@MacDufferfish I'm no wildlife expert, but I'm just saying, I've never heard, nor seen them until the last 4 or 5 years. To me, they were just in Arizona(Wile E. Coyote).
@ralphyization Coyotes are kind of native all over, but they've been moving around the past few years. If you happen to live in an urban/suburban area, they were probably chased out and are returning.
@MacDufferfish I live in a "bush" aka, if you're American, "wilderness" type area. They've only been spotted here in the last few years. NEVER, when I was a kid. Or a young adult, for that matter! I live in Sault Ste. Marie,on the outskirts of town. We're used to the odd bear bothering us, once in a blue moon, a moose, or deer, but it's only in the last couple or few years, coyotes have infiltrated.
@ralphyization How very odd. I work at a nature center in the Washington suburbs, and we've seen tons of coyote sightings these past few years. It could be that you're getting immigrant coyotes from somewhere else. But yeah, Maine's a little off the map for coyotes.
@MacDufferfish Maine?? I live in SAULT STE.MARIE!! Not Maine!! I live in NORTHERN ONTARIO!! Where Lake Superior and Lake Huron meet. If you look at the glove, we're easy to find. Where the 3 big Great lakes meet, that's the Soo!
@MacDufferfish My bad, too! I spelled glove, I meant globe! hehe!! Any way, take it easy, eh? But I've gotta say, I'm used to wolves, bears, moose, deer, and small game, but....
@MacDufferfish I'm not trying to sound "naive", but, could it be the "greenhouse " effect? I'm 47 years old, and I've never dealt with coyotes, until the last few years. Just saying.... We used to always skate in our back yard rinks well past the March break... No more. Only once in the last 10 years or so, has our rink survived the march break! Damn shame!
@ralphyization Wellll, yes and no? Global warming's a very long term trend that happens over decades and centuries on a worldwide scale, but it can cause relatively rapid shifts in local weather. As for coyotes, they're just spreading like vines because conditions are good for scavengers. Less wolves + more trash = more coyotes, crows, pigeons, etc. all over. Looking at your original comment, they probably aren't native to your particular area and are just moving in.
"I have no food on me, he's just coming up at me." Uh, did I see the beginning wrong or did the man not charge the coyote (not the other way around)?? Then the guy sticks out his hand and says "come here" and then yells at the coyote for doing so. What the hell? I think the coyote looks like he's playing, not attacking. Look at the tail and ears. Quit acting like this is something heroic. Also, people like this are the reason we have human/wild animal conflicts.
"Hey, hey, hey, get, hey, get, hey, get, hey, hey, get, hey, get, hey, hey, hey, hey stay there, hey, get, get, hey, hey, hey, get, hey, get, I have no food, hey, get, get, get, hey, my foot......OK I better leave."
looks like a young animal since hes not fearful and i dont really see this as agression more curisociety, though taht can turn agressive sometimes (often how youngsters earn to hunt ) seems hes sort of seeing how far he can push his luck with you here though XD
@thersaholycow i didnt say he was a pup i said he was a youngster a young animals that may not have encountered many people yet, otherwise hed know to run since most peopel hate yotes and do not trest them kindly
You have no food, you are 10X his size, when you act aggressively rather then run away, he returns the aggression. From it's appearance, he's obviously not driven mad by starvation, yet, despite all that, he unexpectedly continues to be aggressive.
2 logical reasons - he is not a he, but a she, and you are holding her kit (puppy).
OR...
It has a disease, like rabies.
City boy, I just saw the moose video - you need to go home or you'll be dead in a month.
Down here in the states we'd just pull a hand gun and blow it's brains out. Those things can be dangerous. Imagen if he had friends and you where hurt, you'd be dead.
predators never back down..awesome close up but they are dangerous

Looking at your original comment, they probably aren't native to your particular area and are just moving in.

Should of boot it in the face and teach it to not mess with humans. Were king, until they try and kill you!

Beatiful critter. He must have thought you where the biggest rodent he'd ever seen and could feast on you all winter. Great clip.

looks like a young animal since hes not fearful and i dont really see this as agression more curisociety, though taht can turn agressive sometimes (often how youngsters earn to hunt ) seems hes sort of seeing how far he can push his luck with you here though XD

I'm just shaking my head in disbelief...

Imagen if he had friends and you where hurt, you'd be dead.
thersaholycow 1 week ago
@thersaholycow its clearly a curious pup who sosent know any better ,, i think your going over board, yes it couldve hurt him, but it didnt,
if shooting anything that gets close isb how you deal with things in the US then im glad i dont live there
